You are doing a great job & being a new pigeon fancier 🙏 you got all the right ideas n loft setup also yes the feeding & if you are breeding I would say use pellets & divide your young bird from your old bird from the white homers etc .
I think now that the birds are starting to calm down I will leave everybody together for the winter but after breeding in the spring I think from now on I will separate males and females. I think you’re right it’s the way to go. I have the pellets, and I am really looking forward to breeding season in a few months. Thanks for your comment I appreciate it.👍
Im really looking forward to watching you train and race your birds in the future. One thing ive learned this season while racing is that food is a MASSIVE factor in how your birds perform on race day. Every single race has a different feeding method and when i failed that method the birds failed me so its definitely not a gimmick
You prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
@Colten Troy Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Great bread of Birds thay Iook great i had them back in the Day in Ireland ur right food is very important in raceing Good luck for season I be watching 👍
Great video! Yes, keep them hungry, but don’t starve them. Feeding racing pigeons is an art itself man lol! Anyway, those young birds are looking really nice Kalapatid! I can’t wait to see their young ones up and flying! Best of luck to you brother! 😁👏🐦
Thanks Bro. I can't wait either. Also I need to look into that jerky but not sure it will sit well! You look like my nephew Sal he is half filipino and half Sicilian - handsome fellas. 👍
Rocky Ridge Kennel & Loft Haha! The person’s name is Ed Currie and he created the hottest pepper in the world called the Carolina Reaper LoL! His store is located there in South Carolina. Fort Mill. I don’t know if that’s close to you or not. You should try their hot sauce though, because it’s really good. I definitely recommend it 😁👍🏼
That's not to far from me and I did over hear a conversation about that reaper a couple years ago. I was thinking I would like to keep a few layers of skin in my mouth in case I need to eat in the future! Thanks bro 👍
Thanks for watching my friend, Breeding season isn't for another 4 - 5 months so you can see how excited I am for it to be getting ready so soon! Hope everyone is doing well 👍
Yes feeding is a matter of choosing how much for how many birds get certain amount. Got to get your measures down ,that's very important in that you do with the birds. Let me know if wheat was good for ya! its tricky too!
Hey Thomas, Yes I agree they are beautiful birds. Forget about what I said about them not flying well they had a wonderful flight today. It was really nice to watch all six flying their hearts out! 👍
Hi Mike , if you have 30 pigeons in the loft when around 12 go to the fountain they have had enough to eat. But when rearing YBs they need all the best food they can get, as much as they want. Also you need good ventilation. The wire mesh floor causes a draft in the loft which is not good for getting pigeons into racing condition. You do need regulated oxygen. I am not telling you what to do just advising. If can help. There is a DVD called SECRETS OF THE CHAMPIONS 4 . Tells you about all the different ventilation systems of most of countries in Europe and USA made by one of your countrymen JIM JENNER. Its brilliant. All the best with them and GOOD LUCK
Thanks Kevin I appreciate the advice. I did try the drinking method but it always leaves them out for the next day and they won’t trap. I will check out the DVD and I’m sure if you recommend it there are a lot of good things in it. Thanks again my friend.
Looking forward to see how you do racing. How much do you feed your pigeons? I feed my birds 1oz per bird. Little bit more during the cold winter up here in Minnesota
I am very excited to start racing, I don't think it will be very eventful because it's my first attempt but you have to start somewhere right! I have been feeding about 1- 1/2 cup for 16 birds so a little more than a tablespoon ea.
Hey, I enjoy your videos. I am new to pigeons and I am getting ready to build a loft, I live in central Alabama and I was just wondering to you leave your floors open like that year round ? I was wanting to make my floors open like that. Is that a good idea ?
I feel it's the way to go because of the easy clean up and no dust. Some people say it's a mistake to have them in the open air but so far so good for me! In Alabama it's even hotter than here so the more air the better to my way of thinking. Also you can always put plywood over it for the cold months. What I did last year is roll out an old carpet for the coldest part of the year. Good luck
Are those HVR's from Master Breeder Lou Coletta here in California by any chance? Scratch that. I just saw the video saying they were from Delaware. However, they may have Lou's bloodline running through their veins as he was the master with HVR's back in the day..

Do you intend to put something along the boom of your loft to keep animals from going underneath and scaring the hell of of your birds ?
Ed Dunne I understand why you would say that but my dogs run under there a lot and it doesn’t bother them at all. Thanks for asking.👍
