0:32 I'd actually love to see more work on Sigma and Atsushi in fanfics. whenever I read an AU where Sigma did end up living and joining ADA, It's always Dazai that Sigma stays close with (and Sigzai which I don't ship in the slightest cuz I don't ship Sigma at all) like they've completely forgotten that Atsushi was the one who saved Sigma! Atsushi's words and willingness to help save Sigma (he was the first before Dazai) was what caused Sigma to find somewhat of a peace within himself and help Atsushi. Sigma was willing to accept death when falling but ofc Nikolai saved him and dragged him to Meursault.
0:44 To be honest, I get your point for Higugin. I never shipped them because I always felt like Higuchi only went for Gin because she couldn't have Akutagawa. I don’t ship Tachigin either but IK that they’d be great friends. I don’t think Tachihara knows that Gin is a girl since she never speaks around him and in the WAN she uses a sign to communicate with other characters (She only talks to Higuchi when in the baths cuz they’re both girls and Higuchi knew Gin was a girl by then). Tachihara and Gin’s dynamic is a lot more evident since they’re both part of the black Lizards and are seen often together so I feel like they’d defo hang out a lot cuz of that. If Tachihara did end up falling for Gin it’d be hilarious cuz he’s defo going to start questioning if he was gay or not!
1:02 I absolutely adore this trio! They look good together and I 100% agree with everything you said here! I just feel like maybe you could add Akutagawa in too maybe cuz I’m pretty sure we saw those four in that one drawing episode from WAN and I love the orphan trio too (Akutagawa, Kyouka and Atsushi). I think I just want to see more redemption interactions between Dazai and Akutagawa plus Akutagawa and Kyouka- and more interaction between Kyouka and Dazai too. We already see a lot of Atsushi interacting with the other three.
1:11 THEY’RE SO CRAZILY CHAOTIC I LOVE IT! I couldn’t help but think of Kajii when reading your reasons for liking this trio. IK he’s barely in the anime and makes somewhat of an appearance in WAN but the CD drama’s of BSD tend to depict Chuuya, Kajii and Akutagawa hanging out a lot or either this trio you already have. There’s also some official art of Chuuya treating Akutagawa and Kajii for them three to eat out after messing around acting together in one of the CD dramas. Kajii is underrated and crazily eccentric so I love how the CD dramas add him into the mafia trio whenever they hang out or do something fun. The fanfics tend to forget him too sadly.
Also, I was first but this all took forever to type! I’m going to save this so if I ever want to try out writing new platonic pairings and oneshots then this will be great!

I love all your responses so much like one we NEED and Atsushi Sigma friendship, I honestly forgot Kajii is a character so....🤠 Tachigin is one of those ships that I started to like cuz of edits and now I'm addicted. I wouldn't want to add Akutagawa to the trio of Dazai, Atsushi, and Kyouka just yet until we see Dazai and Akutagawa fully fix their relationship along Kyouka. (Atsushi and Aku are like Kyouka's divorced parents💀)
