    I love collapsible rods. I have one that fits just right in my backpack so it's easy to take with me on the bike, and I've landed some fairly substantial trout with it. They're stronger than people give them credit for. Mine is a fairly cheap Shakespeare, and I imagine more high-end collapsible rods are even studier.

    • @austinholm-mcrae2777
      @austinholm-mcrae2777 Год назад +2

      As an avid outdoorsmen, the issue I have is what the rod can do for the price. I live in AK, and that will barely work unless I'm targeting the smallest species this state has to offer, and there's always the off chance of hooking up to something unexpected. Look at the flex, it's obviously a small fish rod, but there are always decent sized fish around in AK. If I accidentally hooked up to a Pike, that rod is breaking, or the bearings are going to be blown out in the spool, and don't let me get started on salmon. If I want to mess around like that and see a reel explode I'd get a little kids zebco, spool it up with 20lb braid, and wait for chum/coho season. I'd pay a fraction of the price too. Sniping sales, I've built a number of bullet proof salmon rigs for under 100. That's an introductory rod for people that barely hike, hunt, or fish.

    • @Pray4Mojo1
      @Pray4Mojo1 2 дня назад

      They're not the most durable, but even worse is the action. They just suck. You can get rods in 4 piece if you really wanted to, and the action is still pretty good. I guess it all depends on what you're gonna need it for.

    I keep a selection of things in my fishing vest and try a little bit of everything. It varies from day to day, conditions, depth of water, color of water, temp, etc.. just try until find something that works. I hooked fish on so many different things.

      i recommend the rod if youre jus starting out, on the other hand the tackle isnt the best, but itll work if you have no bait

      That's not irony. "Irony" describes a turn of events that is contrary to expectations, often in a humorous way; for example, being hit and killed by an ambulance is ironic. The word you're looking for is "coincidentally." I know I'm possibly being pedantic, but I'm really tired of people using words with very clearly defined meanings in ways that are just objectively wrong. It's bad enough what they've done to "literally."
