I love this plane in real life and everything about this model is perfect, its sturdy, good looking, detailed, and actually figure scale! Great video really digging the black background.
A great set. The only downer for me, is that the Propellers can't rotate freely when the plane is standing on the ground. I built a stand by myself and display it this way. Much better.
I was expecting the comparison with the old one Cobi 5539. Apparently Cobi only did some minor changes and kept the same scale. Nice review. Nice model. Surely I m gonna add this model on my shelf heheheh!
This one is a littlebit larger (9 cm wider, 5 cm longer) There are definitely improvements (better curves) but just as much deterioration. The coolers on the motor housings are ugly and the landing gear is too deep in the motor housing. But that can be adjusted. It has lost its sturdiness. Some parts are attached to 1 or 2 studs.
I like the change in the background color, but the text at the end with the sizes should white or something because it is pretty hard to see black text on dark gray background.
I love this! The P-38 is one of my favorites! I am new to Cobi, but I did but the Top Gun f-14 Tomcat and I must say... I am impressed! I must have this p-38!!!!
@@keesvanwesterop2954 Interesting... Mine has been on display and hasn't fallen apart. It's meant for a display, not to be played with. Hence, why there's a stand.
Awesome build. Sturdy/very detailed. Interesting seeing Pluto printed to the side of it . Must've cost Cobi a fair bit in licensing rights from Disney to include that.
It does the job. But... Just by looking at it you can tell it is a P-38. Which is a good thing. But given the specific shapes of the plane it is not a marvelous achievement. On closer look tho - there are things that should have been done better. The middle section of the plane is somewhat acceptable. I like the fact the guns are offset. Tho I have a feeling that they moved the wrong ones. When we come to the engines things get worse. First of all the engines themselves should be thicker than the rest of the fuselage following to the tail section. Also the parts that are in black on this model (forgive me that I don't know their name) should be much more sunken into the fuselage. This way they just look odd. As usual the landing gears are not great. Although there is only so much you can do with the space given. And since everything else seems nice and sturdy I don't blame them for that. As for the price - it is on par with previously released models. I am glad that Cobi does not significantly increase their prices. Overall I wouldn't recommend it. If you want a nice plane to display there are way better options. And if you are real fan of the P-38 you will probably be disappointed.
Hardcore P-38 fan should definitely buy other model and build it himself/herself at home and paint it by own hands. When it comes to Cobi, we have to remember this is a toy, and most of the bricks were designed to be universal and interchangeable. Overall Cobi did well enough so I'd recommend.
The p38 it was a a ground attack / fighter plane made from the early 1930s to late 1940s it could man 450 cows and one 20 mm cannon with 14 Harvard rockets and two 500 lb bombs it was an amazing plane my great-grandfather flew one may he be flying his p-38 in heaven
One missing weapon in this plane is the 20mm cannon, all p-38 lightning family have 4 browning 2m 50. Caliber heavy machingun, and 1 20mm cannon in they're disposal for air to air combat or air to ground combat. Cobi do a very good work only missing one weapon is oke to me.
Servus @BrickMeet 😊...

Looks like a machine-gun 😏 but cobi didn't build this part very well. It's a turbine where the air goes through to the exhaust outlet (which is missing)
*_hey dude the ww2 that started by papa Adolf was getting an sequel in the future or maybe now idk maybe it depends to russian and American president :)_*

The block with the pin (where the propeller is attached) can be placed higher.
My problem is the cockpit always falls of
Das Ding sieht mega aus
P-38 in my opinion is one of the strangest planes of WW2 but Cobi always captures it nicely in their sets. Stupendous video today.
If you think this one is strange check out the Dornier Do 335 A-1

Thanks for the build video. It was cleverly shot.

1:24 so satisfying
Very nice model, thanks for the review
Wow! This is amazing! One of my favorite planes from WW2

Richard Ira Bong, one of America’s top fighter aces to this day, flew in a P-38!
I have the cobi p 38L and plan to get this one keep up the good work
Live the dark background, it'll be best for lighter color sets like that panther. Put this next to the Japanese zero you'll get a nice look.
it looks beautiful
Very good

Richard I bong was a p 38 pilot his is on display in duluth Minnesota it is really cool

When will you upload the M3 Scout car?......I'm waiting

I like the new back round and the build fact did u know that once a us pilot gave this to the Germans in ww2 because he wanted to join there side

I like it.
Nice
Thank heavens that Cobi is offering us the option to take off the dreadful landing gear on modern-era fighter sets.
Landing gear is one of the make or break decisions when choosing a set for me
@@travis4558 I'm thinking of getting this one, but I'm weighing it over how difficult it would be to mod to leave off the landing gear...

Did you like the Hvar rockets? Or the cowl mounted 12.7mm M2 Browning machine guns and 20mm Hispano cannon?
Both really
But the rockets aren't the most accurate weapon ever
