Wow, amazing testimony. As a father who just lost his oldest child & only son at 18 (dui driver hit him a month before he was to begin attending a D1 college on a football scholarship) I can only hope & pray that God will somehow work a miracle through this. To say I believe that, I'd be lying. But I am going to start living today for today & trust God's promises. Please shock me lord. If you read this, please pray for me. I'm not doing very well & I have 3 younger girls who also lost their brother. I'm trying, but life just seems pointless to me now. You loose that part of you, part of your identity it's just this special, most sacred part of your soul that's stolen from you one day. And life goes on, just not for you. Please change my mind lord, heal my shattered heart & my families. Cause without some divine intervention, I don't know if I'm making it to year 2 or 3. And I'm just 4 months in which feels like a lifetime.

I didn't lose a child, but I lost the most important person in my life for 52 years. I did not have any other family. I was so alone. The second year was definitely worse. My life has changed forever. Every day, I love and miss my Mom. God has given me a wonderful life today and listening to Dr. Neal is helping me move forward in trust. God Bless All.

      Kasey...how are you doing now?
How are you getting over the loss in this 4 year mark.
I recently lost my mom to heaven who is the most precious person in my life...just like what you said about your mother.
I am so sad and miss her so much.
Do you feel any better now?
I am 55 years old and married but no kid.
I assume that people with kids seem to grieve far less when they lose their parents because their love or attachment are so much toward their kids and they place only part of their love for their parents...

I can say amen to all that she said. We lost our oldest son who was 19, on February 25, 1992. He was a passenger in the front seat of a car that hydroplaned and hit a utility pole. He never serviced and the other passengers and driver only had minor injuries. As a Christian you wonder why did this happen? Our son wanted to be a youth pastor and loved the Lord and others. After the funeral everyone who attended went back to normal; but we had to find a new normal. As a family of four then when we were together we were NOT ALL together anymore. God is good and if we as a family didn't have that hope, faith and God's promises we would be most miserable of people. We are blessed with two fine married sons and their loving wives and seven grand children. Someone said after the death of a child you have a choice to make; to become better or bitter; we chose better by God's grace. The pain will always be there, but we are still blessed and thank God for His loving kindness and saving grace. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord!

Dr. Mary, it really is a horrible experience. I have two, my only two who are in heaven. My daughter passed Auguste 21, 2019. Your message has been the most helpful message for me on this journey of living without them - it is hard to see a future - however, you have thrown to me an anchor ‘trust’ - trust in the One who loves them most, who loves me most and still has a plan for my life. Thank Dr. Mary Neal for your life, your story.

I was struck by your story. We lost our only daughter (it was her choice actually) two years ago. And to be honest I don't know that I could have done what you did. Know in advance. I think the Lord knew that my coming "loss" would be less painful if it were thrust upon me. Now two years gone and I realize that I still have things to do and accomplish. People to help. And yet, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't relieve that Sunday when I was told by the authorities and my little girl had taken her life. But you're right about life being pretty short so I, like you, look forward to the day when I will be with her again. There is nothing more difficult (including cancer, illness, etc.) than losing a child. And in a strange way, nothing that requires more courage. Bless you.

We lost our 18 year old son, 23 years ago to bone cancer and yes, she expresses the emotional turmoil and pain that comes with this sad life experience. But for those who hope in the LORD, there is a wonderful reunion and that is what we hang on to. The pain never goes, the missing never ends, but faith softens everything. It takes a lot of time to come to a place of peace, in fact, a life time but with prayer and support you will find that place eventually and also find joy in knowing your daughter is safe.

I lost my 17 year old boy in 2001. I was really tough on him in life. Now that he's gone, all I can think about is what an idiot I was. Will he have forgiven me when we meet again? As we get older, we realize the mistakes we may have made in the past with our children and have an opportunity to say, "I'm sorry" or a chance to really make it up to them. But not here. He's gone! And there is no way to make anything up to him. The memories I have now are thinking how sad I must have made him in this life. This pain is impossible to bear. I don't know why I'm not dead.

    • @pbecke

Jeanette, I doubt it. I could feel really gutted for the smallest things I might have done for my wife, acceded to the least of her wishes and preferences, without waiting or expecting to be prompted, and didn't. She was so stoical, and that upsets me more now than it did while she was here. I'm feelng a bit emotional writing this, though I try NOT to think of her most of the time.
At the moment I'm going through trials I wouldn't have thought God would allow to be inflicted on anyone (then I thnk of the little children murdered by Brady and Hindley) , but I know he doesn't make mistakes, and as Mary says, trust is all. The recompense always outweighs the pains we suffer, and come along - particularly the biggest ones - when we least expect them. And we should always remind ourselves that it serves a greater purpose the more painful it is.
The other day, I told a young lad who was begging that his suffering wa redemptive, helping the redemption of all mankind. And he replied rather ruefully, not to say, drily : 'I've been doing a lot of that lately.'
A few days afer my wife's death a blue tit flew through the window in my stepson's bedroom, into the passage and into the living-room where I was sitting at the computer. It must have flown past me without my noticing, and settled on a large potted plant on a shelf about six feet away on my right. Si came in and sat near where his mother used to sit and watched the bird fly up to the frieze high on the wall opposite him, beneath the ceiling, and look down at him. Scared that he might 'flap' and njure himself, I'd opened the bottom half of the side panes of the bay window, but wasn't game at that time to try opening the big, central one, but he ignored it. Si looked at it for a few moments and pulled down the blinds on the other windows, just leaving one of the side wndows open and clear of its venetian blind. The bird looked briefly at his handiwork and flew straight out. I said to Si, I think he/she was saying : Thank goodness someone's got a head on his shoulders!' But then, more seriously, told him what had really come to my mind, namely that his mother was telling him via the bird that she would always be with him, never far away. Anyway, we took a lot of comfort from our wee avian friend's neighbourly visit.

It's been five years. The world does move on and it seems unfair and can create anger. The loss of a child can and does destroy families and marriages. I felt I had nothing left to hold onto that was true other than the sturdy basic faith that my loving mother had given me. Over the years I had built upon it a bit and strengthened it prior to our son's death. If I didn't have that personal anchor and trust I would've gone crackerjacks or far worse. My sympathies to all who are enduring horrific loss.

My mom is dying and I only feel the trust in god and his love is the only way. I am learning a very important lesson of my life and I believe that my mom will be in a better place. If god permits, I would spend more time with her, if not I will meet her one day in heaven.

I feel the same, My 26-year-old son died to suicide. It's is the most difficult human experience I am to cope with. Beautiful beyond words, I love and loved him to the depth of my being and beyond. It is horrible, it is devastating, it's inescapable grief, but at the same time, I know I can live my best life because of my child. The depth of understanding I have now, I would never have if he were alive today. We cannot help but grow because of a tragedy so deep we don't wish to comprehend it.

According to Mary, she was told during her NDE in 1999, that her son would die, ( not in this video) and she accepted that as one of many reasons she had to return to life. The NDE transformation was one about trust in God’s will, and go with it. Wonderful things are seen in the midst of a major loss. “Keep on walking forward... “....has she really grieved? And happy with a god that set that major loss. Confounding.

Cathy 2021. I lost my beautiful Godly husband 6 years ago and I am stuck in the wonderful past we had. Trying to engage in the here and now, but it is so hard. I lost Paul, my husband, my mother, my father, 3 brothers and it is hard to see the future. I live for my daughters. I want to be with Paul, but know I must keep waiting.

I lost my daughter on May 5, 2020. I just live in the past everyday wishing that this year had never happened. I can not explain how badly her lost is. Her absence is always there the first thing in the morning and I have to read a prayer before I am able to even get up. I dont.know.how to get beyond it. I constantly pray and talk to GOD about her. I cant imagine a life without her. I know exactly how Mary feels. I wouldnt wish this.on anybody. I can not wait to see .my daughter again.

We know that all of us who hold our faith in Jesus and what He did for us by dying for us and being raised back again to life - we will not only experience heaven, but will be with all of those who also put their life and trust in Him. If you haven't yet, make it your highest priority to know Jesus and have an intimate relationship with Him. It will be the more important decision you ever make.

It was still hard to lose a son even after you had experienced the heaven and been told about your loss...
A month ago I lost my mom to heaven who was everything to me.
It was like an end of the world.
Since then, just like dr. Mary said, what I desire has been the past only, not the present and not the future.

Thanks for sharing this video. I watched another of her videos few days ago with my husband. She described her experience in Heaven. We started watching videos about people who experience being in heaven after the death of my only son, 10 years old, on Christmas's day. Our faith is strong and continues to be strong. But the pain is real and strong, overwhelming at times. Watching her video helped us to keep Trusting on God. The Word we got from God since my son died was .."TRUST ME" ... over and over again ... "TRUST ME" .... even though you don't understand what I am doing in your life. .... Trust Me!. then when I heard about how God revealed to her that her 9 year old son will died later in life (10 years after) ... I searched to find her video talking about it. Like ... I wanted to hear what she felt, how she handled it, like ... please help me ... to understand my lost :( ....... and like she said in this video ... losing a child it is the hardest experience in a mother / father's life. I lost my father on a car accident when I was 21, then I lost my mother after several years sickness at the age of 34, then I went through a terrible 3 years experience with my husband, ... some how God helped me every time to overcome these 3 major experiences in my life. But the death of my little, only boy. I never imagine I will experience something so devastating like this. But God is Love, God is Sovereign and God is in control, then I guess .... I know (I don't know how yet) ... He is going to help me to go through this lost too. Thanks Dr. Neal for sharing your story ... you have no idea how much as help me, us to continue believing that I will see my boy again and m mom and my dad, and God and Jesus in Heaven ... one day ... I just hope it doesn't take too long. With love and appreciation. Elizabeth Wilcox
