The debunking of the bronze swords as status symbols was my favorite. Sadly she only showed blunt on edge damage rather than edge on edge, what she showed was sword hitting a shield boss, armor, or a spear shaft. Edge on edge creates cuts into the edge such as what Time Team found on a sword next to a bridge leading to an Island village that Francis Pryor claimed was a ceremonial deposit that some bronze age man broke over his knee and tossed into the water as an offering to some god I think is in his own head. Both parts of the sword had very clear edge on edge damage on both edges and the break was at one such spot... it looked like battle damage. Found with spear heads point down in the muck that he claimed were thrust into the muck and a jerk on the shaft broke the point off... Delusional. But he also claimed the barrow on the island was sacred and people from hundreds of miles would go to the island to worship the ancestors... except there was a village on the island and the barrow was about the right size for the village. Small bronze age village + village cemetery on an island surrounded by swamps with 1 bridge leading to the island, defensible place. On the side of the bridge is a couple spear points point down in the muck? Spear shafts were broken and the points went into the water, the shaft parts in the points acted like the tail on a dart and the points landed tip first into the soft muck. Battle damaged and broken sword went into the water during the same battle to defend the village from most likely the next village over. Much more likely scenario than Francis the ancestor worshiper Pryor. Oh and he also claims roundhouses generally face East so in the morning the residents can step out into the morning sun and worship the ancestors. Not like having the entry facing East means you get the morning sun lighting the interior so you can see what you are doing rather than fumble about in the dark with getting light... No it was ancestor worship.
Aphrodite as Cyprus is close to my heart , but is there anywhere to watch full length episodes, these clips are a bit frustrating as I want to know more

I just ran across this on my recommended videos and it’s fantastic. I’ve seen two of my favorite people,Alice and Caroline . What shows are these clips from? I don’t recognize any of them but they all look like wonderful shows.

Somebody was amazed the other day when I showed them my house and they thought I built it by hand. With copper tools. I had to explain I had found it and moved in. Put my name on the door. They were confused.
I think we're looking at children's toys, dolls, possibly a lunar calendar, or calendar of some kind (maybe tracking menstruation, birth and seasons), and regular everyday beads. They had a lot of time in the darkness of winter and were clearly skilled and extremely creative. Conserve energy, make some beautiful and useful things and above all keep the kids busy!! I believe these people spent the majority of their winter time creating. They were not desperate, but innovative, creative and clearly in command of their environment. It's unfortunate that the only story we seem to accept is one of a people in near desperation, starvation and with only very basic ideas of survival possible in their primitive minds. I think that is how WE would feel transported back to their time: completely out of our depth and unable to cope. We would not be here if they were not incredibly resourceful and successful!!!
What the hell do we know about any fighting and injuries in the past baste on our weak present humans.we are nothing compared to the real hardships and dangers of the past. We are just guessing with a littlest of information . We could never even imagine how hard everything was then.we can only guess. Fat belly professional men telling us how it was is an insult to the past peoples who are so differently able to survive in awfully difficult circumstances. It’s all thinkers based on guesswork. Which is fine but we are learning constantly how incredibly incorrect we are
Which of these remarkable discoveries is your favourite find?
So difficult to pick just one. Going to have to view this a few times and somehow narrow it down. 🤔

The programming of the BBC is a national treasure.
That reconstruction of the temple of Ra is so unnecessarily, stupidly beautiful… to the CGI team who created it - thank you 🙂↕️

30:40So if some old folks are telling you that in their youth nobody was doing graffiti and keeping his city clean...just show them this.

Hence the name Britain (Bri Tin) That's what I heard. Tin is generally scarce compared to copper.
All these devices should go through a code verification before it can be sold.

Some still work extremely hard to survive around the world.
The best thing about this programme is you get to hear the utter nonsense from so called historians
