    Thank you for sharing. My wife and I are headed to the Grand in April and this will certainly help with our planning, especially understanding to make our dinner reservations right away after check in. I’ve watched several of your videos and the information is really appreciated.

    Thanks for the video, did you do the time share/vacation package they sell? What are your thoughts?

      We did it last year. We made a video last year that discussed out thoughts but in summary, it wasn't for us. The video goes into more detail so make sure you watch it ruclips.net/video/8znlDMRv4TA/видео.html

    I'm just back from a week at the Grand. Unfortunately, I had 7 days of monsoon rainfall with only a few random hours of sun. We were barely able to enjoy the pools or beach. I found the food at the restaurants to be ok at best. There were many roof leaks, so they had buckets and absorbent pads everywhere. The free shows were not particularly impressive except for maybe the fire show. I would not call the alcohol anywhere near top shelf either. Yes, they are American brands, but $35 bottles. No way I would go back. I also didn't appreciate the multiple time share pitches they pushed. If this is the best all-inclusive around, that's sad. I found Secrets Wild Orchid in Jamaica to be much better.

      Oh no. I’m sorry you didn’t have a. Good time. Being at these resorts during the rainy season can be rough but your experience sounds just awful. Plenty of other good resorts out there though. Keep trying new places until you find your perfect fit.

    Love all of your Grand videos.I wish you would do a comprehensive walk-around video of fhe Maya .... 😎

      Thank you. We have plenty of video of us walking around the Maya but we've never stayed there or eaten there. Eventually when we have grandchildren that's where we'll stay, but that's still quite a few years away. It looks like an amazing family resort.

      @AlainGrandemange It is really nice. My son had his wedding there a year ago December and we enjoyed it immensely. The steakhouse, Hibachi and buffet were all good. Ceremony in the beach was magical and perfect as was the huge buffet line on the beach for the reception. The lush tropical landscape was wonderful. Being our first visit to an all inclusive my wife and I left a lot of food and drink untried. So I want to go back, and next time to the Grand, to get to know the bartenders and waiters and try all the special house drinks and have more off the fantastic food. I have enjoyed all of your great video insights. I hope all is well with you guys. Steve S

    We're heading there in May. How is the seaweed situation. We're praying for clear waters

      Hi! We've only been there over new years (End dec, beginning Jan) so we can't comment on the seaweed situation in May, but i believe that's considered sargassum season. Luckily the beach is kept very clean of any seaweed so if you're just lounging on the beach, you'll be fine.

    Also, restaurants don't have reservations at the Grand anymore except for the Hibachi one.

    Have you considered any other iberostar grands?

    • @AlainGrandemange
      @AlainGrandemange  8 месяцев назад +1

      I've been to the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Jamaica (in a previous life) and my wife have been to the Grand Bavaro in the DR (ruclips.net/video/bZ2YHJvXKBg/видео.html), but none of them compare to the IGP. This place just feels warm and cozy... like a favorite blanket. it's just right.

    We were there last September and no one ever asked for a tax or anything we walked right out of customs and to the taxi area with no nothing 🤷‍♂️

    • @AlainGrandemange
      @AlainGrandemange  7 месяцев назад

      The tax is for the entire stay so they may check on departure (not arrival). We weren’t checked either but given the low cost and risks associated with it, we just preferred flot follow the rules. how they deployed this tax is honestly a disaster in my opinion.
