I'm trying to get like THAT! The fact that artists have an opportunity to make a substantial living from their artwork. The only thing that makes it seem impossible for me is that the names attached to these pieces are world-renowned, and-as you mentioned-most of the artists didn't reap the benefits of these selling prices. Is it possible to become like one of the greats in a city like Houston? All I can do is give it a shot and be consistent!

HELLO MORIAH, THIS IS GREAT INFORMATION; ID LOVE TO SEE THE DECRIPTION OF THE ARWORKS LIKE THE USE OF MATERIAL ON WHETHER THE MATERIAL DOES REALLY CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THE USE AND THE CHOICE THANK YOU!
I am not impressed by overpriced Art, there are just as good if not many better Artworks out there that are substantially less costly. Cost does not equate to Better or more Aesthetic. You can be persuaded by $$$, Trends, Investments, Prestige, Media attention if you like Etc... Yes, there are some great Artworks at the top of the market that are extraordinary works be it a few in my opinion.
Would be interesting if one of the truly great pieces went up for sale today... say a Van Gogh starry night, sunflowers, or something along those lines... or maybe a Rembrandt, Bosh or van Eyck .. wouldn't surprise me if we saw 1 billion ... based on what the da Vinci fetched in 2017
Please, i love art, it makes me feel good, and i also want to commercialise my arts works, abstract tho, Please, should i do it or not, i don't want to get in to it deeply and feel depressed due to lack of turn up in profit, Should i get in to business or i should not even think of selling art?
If I will make some of painting like you with other views, will u purchase from me. As Artist can understand the value of other artist painting. Pl reply.
What a load of red slop that first one is. EDIT: They were nearly all trash. The Van Gogh was not a good one. The Monet was so-so. That sculpture was pure BS.
These paintings are only selling because they are so famous (some of them are pieces of art history). They sell for tons of money to investors. Who invest big money in them and the investors hold onto them until the price goes up and then they sell them to make money on their investments. The investors have no intention of keeping them..
Humans are willing to pay a crazy amounts of money for the dumbest things 😂 I’m not against buying expensive paintings at all. But some of those paintings looks like a 5 year old painted them.
