Great video dude, well done. If you put the bike over on it's right side do these guards stop the footrest and brake level from hitting the ground? No other CMX500 engine guard seems to offer protection to that right-hand footrest and brake lever.
The hex bolts on the left side for handle for sure were put on by Thor with thread locker. I stripped both of the hex heads trying to get them off and they are still not off.
Hey buddy I enjoyed watching your video...I have a question I have a 2009 kawasaki vulcan 750 and for some apparent reason they dnt sell crashbar or engine bars for this bike..what do I do next??
Hey Burch, thanks for the videos, they really have helped a lot. I like the seat on the Rebel, looking for one myself. Where did you get it from? Thank you in advance.
So glad my videos have helped! I got this from a website called ZeedParts. Wasn’t super comfy, but looked great and didn’t cost an arm and a leg so I was happy!
Quick question. My Rebel only has one of those exhaust arms where the sliders goes on on the right side (I’m assuming as it it should). What do you call those? So I can order one for the left side. @everyone. Thank you!
Hey I know this is old upload but I’ve watching ur vlogs to add the mods.. I installed the T Rex frame slider above the exhaust but I don’t see a bracket for the frame slider on the left side.. this is a new bike that I bought a month ago… is it normal for the bracket on the left to be missing or have I been duped by the dealer?. Would appreciate feedback from all and thank you.
Looking to buy some guards for my Rebel 300 really soon. Awesome video :) For a relatively new rider, does this engine guard come in the way when you have to do an oil change or anything of that sort?
Hey the link for the Exhaust Slider from Amazon isn’t working. Keeps saying can’t find page. Is there another website to buy them from that looks like these??
You can check the actual T-Rex website, but they’re out of stock frequently which is likely why the link isn’t working. They take them down when they’re out of stock. If you go to the website they have a spot where you can enter your email address to get an update when they’re available though!
Since you’ve had the seat for over 2 weeks now how is the seat holding up? Is it more comfortable than the stock seat and does it hold up for long rides and rain?
It’s holding up just fine. I’d say it’s more comfortable than stock solely based on the fact that it has more surface area and sits me up higher. It’s definitely a bit firm though. I’m fine after a 2 hr ride, but I never really do more than that. And I never ride in the rain. It doesn’t seem to soak up any water during washes though.
I’d say it’s definitely one of the best beginner bikes out there, but for a passenger may only be best suited for short trips. I have a full review video of how it does with a passenger on my channel if you want to check it out! Should be the most viewed video right now.
@@LifeOfBurch Thanks a lot. I saw the video. Despite a few cons (view and bumping), it's it reasonable to say it's at least good for the passenger for a 4-5 hours trip?
I mean, for you, what you consider a short trip? I do not intend to cross the country (I'm a Brazilian Living in Mexico). But certainly I would like to ride to the coast, with takes around 4-5 hours
@@felipeclemente bro honestly I wouldn’t take someone else on this bike for 4 hours if someone paid me to do it 😂 When I say short trip I mean like an hour tops, not cruising above 50mph. Will it do more? Sure. But there are bikes way better suited for it that will keep you and your passenger more comfortable. MAYBE with upgraded suspension and a sissy bar it could be doable, but I wouldn’t know for sure.
Just bought a Rebel 300 (2020) and looking to add the frame sliders and engine guard - do you find the T-REX guard too big now that it is on? It seems that it is way too big - which made me thing I would want the smaller one - suggestions?
I actually like the T-Rex guard better now that it’s on, than I did just seeing it in pictures. It’s definitely bigger than the other guards, but offers sooo much protection so it’s worth it to me! No sense in having a smaller engine guard if there’s still the chance of your bike getting messed up if it falls over. Plus, if you’re looking at the bike from the side, the engine guard honestly just blends in since it’s all black anyway.
I got it from ZeedParts, but they aren’t the best. I had a bunch of issues. The seat is more comfortable than stock for sure, but a bit more firm than I prefer. If it doesn’t soften up after some use I’ll probably have a local shop add a gel layer to it or something like that.

They affect it less than I expected! If you listen closely to the end of the video when I lay the bike on its side, you’ll hear a faint scrape as the foot peg first makes contact with the ground, and at that point the engine guard is still about 2 inches off the ground. In order for the guard to be touching the ground, the foot peg would be so folded up that your foot couldn’t even be on it anymore. The foot peg is the only thing that will make contact with the ground, and it’ll fold pretty much all the way up, then spring right back down when you lift the bike back up.
