E. Gadd definitely gave off villain energy in Dark Moon. I can't even summarize the plot of Dark Moon without feeling that way. It's like, "E. Gadd was doing ghost research with a bunch of brainwashed ghost slaves when King Boo destroyed the mind control device, causing the ghosts to break free from mind control. So E. Gadd then turns Luigi's TV into a teleporter and abducts Luigi from his home in order to conscript Luigi into fixing the ghost mind control device." He gives you orders throughout the entire adventure, teleporting you into and out of danger completely at will, and removing most of the tension from the game (compared to, say, Luigi's Mansion 3, where Luigi is in the hotel because he's literally trapped there, and E. Gadd is holed up in the basement). While the King Boo fight in Dark Moon does succeed in adding tension by having King Boo intercept Luigi's trip back to the lab and trap him in the final battle, I still feel like E. Gadd should've been the main villain. And yeah, King Boo kidnapped Mario as well. But Luigi doesn't even find out about that until fairly late in the game. It felt like the Mario kidnapping plot point in Dark Moon was just shoehorned into the plot in order to give Luigi an actual reason to go after King Boo aside from just E. Gadd telling him to.
E Gadd is also responsible for the entirety of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, because he built the time machine that brought the Shroobs back to the present day in that game. He is obsessed with tampering with forces that should be beyond human control, which does make him villainous in my opinion. I've only played Luigi's Mansion 3, but a lot of his dialogue in that game shows complete disregard for anything but his own research and self-preservation; its comical at first, but gets to be less so the longer it goes on.
That's not what makes the plot screw up. What screws up is that the Shroobs in the past didn't kill Mario, Luigi and other of the baby counterparts to erases them in existence. Makes me wonder why didn't the Shroob invaded in present day, steal the time machine and do that?
The Time Machine didn’t bring back the shroobs to the present it only brought Junior Shrooboid(the first tutorial enemy) and let’s not forget Mario and Luigi took the fake princess peach to the present which meant a few shroobs went to the time portal and went to hiding until they got caught by bowser and got frozen
Wouldn't the shroobs have been able to take over unchallenged without the time machine? The time machine isn't what brought the shroobs there, it's what allowed the bros to fight them.
something feels off about this theory mainly with LM2 as with the Dark Moon being intact, it doesn't come across as mind-control, more as a way to make the ghosts docile and as we see with pets, docile makes them manageable and kind, but still free and then there is Polter Pup he seems to want to be a good buy, but by the breaking off the Dark Moon, he seems to do actions he regrets after it is healed + he stays with Luigi in LM3, still being a good boy
I've yet to see a single belief system in the world that treats using the souls of the dead as slaves or tools as morally neutral or good. All mythologies and belief systems that came up with or used the concept of souls find it morally condemnable.
What I mean is that Hades would be angry at E Gadd for trapping these “poor unfortunate souls” in paintings, keeping them from getting to (or back to) the underworld for the afterlife they deserve. There would be a special punishment, just for him.
Polterpup is the strongest ghost in evershade valley. The only ghost to not be fully corrupted by the Dark Moon and has to be captured 3 times before is fully caught, like the possessors and King Boo. and I bet Polterpup was actually helping Luigi the entire time, but wanted to make sure he was ready. Why else would he dig out a gem in Gloomy Manor, snag the key as a way to test Luigi out. Steal the Hour Hand from 3 Greenies so Luigi could deal with each of these stronger Greenies separately. and then in Treacherous Mansion, Ambushed Luigi before he can be Ambushed by King Boo. (because if you recall, and look through the Windows after Polterpup takes the Front Door Key, King Boo is right there capturing the 2 Toads. Had Luigi walked in on King Boo, he would have been captured. Polterpup has helped Luigi multiple times. AND he revives Luigi for the price of 1 gold bone.
I think Luigi’s mansion 2 is bit more nuanced since the ghosts aren’t really good guys when not under the control of the dark moon. They are hostile and not even nice to each other at times (best example the red ghost putting the green in his mouth). And they almost destroy the universe at the end of the game. Now it’s possible king boo maybe is controlling them yes but at the same time we see them acting this way after Luigi defeats King boo too. Also to Egads defense in that game he does express the concern about the ghosts leaving evershade valley and attacking people. Like it’s clearly best that they are under the dark moons influence. One side thing too I find interesting is the ghost in LM3 who is nice to Luigi you actually can spare. There are ghosts in the OG as well you can spare which is interesting. Maybe this is more of a defense for Luigi. Most of the ghosts you have to capture because they are holding keys from Luigi keeping him from being able to move forward. The first game literally could have ended fast if he was just given access to the final room from the beginning. Just a thought.
The dark moon doesn’t control the ghosts in evershade valley it has a pacifying effect that keeps the ghosts calm and nice/helpful but when it gets broken that’s when they become evil and do whatever the boos tell them to do
I can't vision E Gadd as a villain in 2nd and 3rd but the 1st one he clearly could be because boss ghost is just minding their own business and got sucked up and prisoned in portraits all thanks to him and took their after lives away. Or he got freaked out and didn't calm down and think before act.
King Boo is a villain but he isn't one in the first game. In the first game, Egad is the villain and Luigi is just the helpless victim. King Boo in Dark Moon wants revenge on Egad and then later on after Luigi defeats him, he decides to get full on revenge on Luigi once and for all.
Well this question depends on how you look at it if you look at it from Luigi’s side yes King boo is villain but if you look at it from King boo’s side then yea he has his reasons
Here's my interpretation, which is much more nuanced and interesting. E. Gadd isn't a bad guy. But he isn't a good guy either. He's morally grey. He doesn't care about good or bad, he only cares about his research and experiments. My theory for Luigi's Mansion 1 is that King Boo isn't the one who trapped Mario. It's hard to say, but it seems that he was stuck under the trap door just like all the other Boos until Luigi freed them. It's his first appearance of the game after all. But if that's the case, he couldn't have trapped Mario inside the painting. So I think that E. Gadd is actually the one who trapped Mario in the painting, using his machine. Maybe Mario is the one who trapped the Boos under the trap door a long time ago, which is why King Boo hates him. And Mario knew it was wrong to trap the portrait ghosts in paintings, so he freed them all. But he eventually got pushed into the machine by E. Gadd as they clashed. And when you think about it, E. Gadd was inside the mansion when we first meet him. What was he doing there ? Hiding Mario's painting deep within the mansion, only for King Boo to find it later on and jump on the opportunity ? As for Luigi, well E. Gadd manipulates him, lies to him about the nature of the portrait ghosts and about who trapped Mario in the painting, and the rest is history. But he isn't fully bad since King Boo is bad too, and he helps Luigi defeat him with his inventions. As for Sunshine, once again he doesn't care for good or bad, only his experiments. He gave the brush to Junior and F.L.U.D.D. to the Piantas, creating a problem and its solution, to fulfill his curiosity and see how things would turn out. But also E. Gadd fully helps in Mario and Luigi Partners in Time. He does nothing bad here. But he doesn't do it out of the goodness of his heart. He does it for survival. Heck, it's technically his fault that the Shroobs might have invaded the present. He didn't care about the risks, only about his creation. But he still helps save the world. Basically E. Gadd isn't purely evil. He's on the side that allows him to experiment as he wishes. If he needs to help save the world, he will. But if his next experiment is morally questionable, he won't care either. And I think that this interpretation is much more interesting than him just being evil.
Honestly, that all sounds pretty evil to me. He may not "care" about good or evil per say, but that kind of thinking is essentially evil in itself. Many villains say things along the lines of, "there is no good and evil, only (power, survival, etc.)" as an excuse for their clearly evil deeds, and this seems to be the category that E Gadd falls into.
@@Oceane1803Luigi might disagree, he is clearly using Luigi to do his dirty work. E gadd always has him do everything for him seemingly enjoying putting Luigi in immanent danger. The dark moon always seemed like a artifact that has existed forever in evershade otherwise why would he had not used that at the hotel.
Why are you making Professor E Gadd and Luigi look like they're the villains of the Luigi's Mansion series? King Boo is the main antagonist of the series, he's not a good guy, he's a villai, once a villain always a villain.
Are the 2 white guys the villains, for colonizing the land of the ghosts and imprisoning them in paintings? Gee I don't t know. Edit: E.gadd is neither good nor evil, everything he does is in pursuit of scientific discovery.

Good video keep it up❤
Professor E Gadd isn't the villain of the Luigi's Mansion series, King Boo is the real villain of the series, and don't even bring Luigi into this.
I never actually thought of it like that great video
What a coincidence cause today I finished Luigi's Mansion 2 HD not 100% but still
Better get that tingle costume ready. No switch 2. Its a switch mario oled bundle😂
I think he's just kinda a jerk sometimes that does not think about what he's tampering with. A bit absent minded and overly demanding if Luigi but not evil persay as far as we know all the ghost we're trying to kill him and he releases them after that. The dark moon always seemed like a artifact that has existed forever in evershade otherwise why would he had not used that at the hotel.
Nin10doland, Magneto vs King Boo who would win in a fight ?
the luigis mansion 2 one is wrong i think the ghosts eat eachother. THATS VERY BAD.
Sorry for not watching your videos for a while. Im back
no evil evil just indifferent like
Why are you making Professor E Gadd and Luigi look like they're the villains of the Luigi's Mansion series? King Boo is the main antagonist of the series, he's not a good guy, he's a villai, once a villain always a villain.
Nice
Now I definitely hate E Gadd now.
E. Gadd for Mario Kart and Smash?
👇
First of All How Is Luigi Evil He's Not But I Do Believe That E Gadd Is Evil
I billev you you are rite
thank for the pov but that no reason to trap mario ( i do under) but luigi peach toads no just no
I don't believe you 😅😅😅
nice bro
Are the 2 white guys the villains, for colonizing the land of the ghosts and imprisoning them in paintings? Gee I don't t know.
Edit: E.gadd is neither good nor evil, everything he does is in pursuit of scientific discovery.
Day 2 of asking Nin10doland to play ember knights
If any of that was true then why there was a portal in Luigi's mansion 2 :dark moon?🤔😱❓💯🐾💎👻
I mean, you are not off.
