On the second day of Ramadan in 2018, the MCC was blessed to host three Shahadas (testimonies of faith), which is the stating belief in the oneness of God (tawhid) and the acceptance of Muhammad as God's final prophet.
Thank you Max, Loren, and Thomas! You shared your special day with our congregation and we are thankful to each of you for letting us witness your Declaration of Faith.
God had sent a special person in each of your paths to introduce you to this faith and facilitated this day. For Loren, it was his fitness trainer, a MCC congregant. We are grateful to each person who shared his or her faith.
The Muslim community's task now begins in supporting you.
The public declaration (profession) reads (right to left in Arabic):
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا ٱلله مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱلله
lā ʾilāha ʾillā llāh muḥammadun rasūlu llāh
There is no god but God. Muhammad is the messenger of God.

These Shahadahs were delivered at the Muslim Community Center - East Bay (MCC East Bay) in Pleasanton, California on Friday, May 18, 2018. Sidi Dr. Asad Tarsin facilitated the first two Shahadahs after Jum'uah and Sidi Mahdy Amine facilitated the later Shahadah after Maghrib prayer that day.

It is always good to see new people taking Shahada and may Allah make it easy for the new Myslims and reward the Brother for his efforts. Technically, the official Kalima Shahada is to say "Ashadu anla ilaha ilallah wahdahu la sharikallahu wa ashadu anna Muhammadar Rasululah", ("I bear witness there is no one worthy of worship but Allah, Who is One without a partner and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Messenger") this is also correct (when you add "Who is One without a partner") when you are dealing with a person from the People of the Book as related in the following authenticated hadith: Narrated ‘Ubada ibn As-Samit: The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said: “If anyone testifies that none has the right to be worshipped but ALLAH alone, Who has no partners and that Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم, is His Slave and His Messenger, and that ‘Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus son of Mary), alaihi was salaam, is ALLAH’S SLAVE and HIS MESSENGER and His Word which He bestowed on Maryam and a Spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is true, and Hell is true, ALLAH will admit him into Paradise with the deeds which he had done, even if those deeds are few.” Junada, the subnarrator said: ‘Ubada added: ‘Such a person can enter Paradise through any of its eight gates he likes.” - Sahih Bukhari 4:644 / New Bukhari 4:3435.

O Prophet (♥Muhammad PBUH♥), when the believing women come to you pledging to you that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor will they steal, nor will they commit unlawful sexual intercourse, nor will they kill their children, nor will they bring forth a slander they have invented between their arms and legs, nor will they disobey you in what is right - then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them of Allah . Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

With all my respect to the Imam I am little confused about the direct meaning of Shahada. I have checked in few website and also from my little knowledge the Shahada states as
أشهد أن لا إله إلاَّ الله و أشهد أن محمد رسول الله
In transliteration: Ashadu an la ilaha illa illa-ilah, wa ashadu anna muhammadan rasul ullah.
The meaning is: "I testify that there is no god but God (Allah), and I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God (Allah)".
