You mostly reacted to Pritam Chakraborty and loved those, which is absolutely fine. Here I want to tell you 1 thing. There is a special difference in between Rahman and Pritam, Vishal -Shekhar etc. Pritam's composition is more of western style , guiter is one of the most prominent instruments of his compositions along with other western instruments and it's one of the main reason that pritam's songs are very catchy to youths but Rahman along with using Western instruments he uses so many indian classical instruments like tabla, harmonium, sitar etc...his songs are very good fusion of indian- western. Also Rahman's composition are way more complicated and challenging for singers to sing..on the other hand Pritam's are in comparison less complex, bit easy to sing. Why Rahman is so much respected then??? Because along with unique compositions, his songs are used to learn music for those who wants to be singer..they practice and use his compositions to train themselves cz from less complex composition you can't train yourself...just like practicing tough math only one can master the subject. And i am saying these knowing from those who are learning music. Listen to Rahman's 90's, early 20's music. He changed Indian music scenario coming up with completely new sound and he made song of all different genres. ** I don't know what he'll cutting lines are coming in between 🧐😖

There are certain decisions that composers make based on several factors, which sometimes seem awkward to us. One thing, indeed, he tried to give some international feel to it. Besides Spanish, there's also French(Salut) and maybe some other languages to create some kind of international party feel. A.R.Rahman matched the time signature to 'Aaj Ki Raat Hona Hai Jo' because there was some copyright issue, and the producers/director wanted the same time signature or something like that. That is about as far as I know, but there are usually good reasons why it was done in a particular way. I understand your point about the opening sequence, though.
