If I may be so bold, I would like to say 2 things here in response to your comment. 1. Be an artist like yourself. 2. Don't worry about waiting. Just start making stuff. Use pens, pencil, paper, glue, tape, hair, blood, wax, whatever the hell you want/whatever the hell you have around. I "wanted to be an artist" for years, then I finally started doing it and now I wish I had just gotten off my ass earlier and not waited and let things get in my way.
"US mere mortals." Speak for yourself! I'm not a mere mortal. I, too, am an artist. The thing about Dan's art is that it's accessible to everyone, not just "magicians" or "mere mortals."" I don't have a RUclips channel, but I draw and paint many things that look somewhat similar to this. Dan has much more patience than I do, however! Yes, he's a master craftsman, but he makes vidoes to show us that ALL of us can learn to be excellent artists. In fact, I am inspired by this video to use homemade stencils and spray paint to create something similar. I aspire to learn new drawing/painting skills and to teach others if I can. I also agree with what the other person said. Start drawing or painting with whatever materials are at hand. Did a lack of funds ever stop Dan Tirels from creating awesome art? He used leftover trash for a few art demos! If you wait until you think you might be as good as someone else, you'll never get started.
