I’m fine with the Twin Snake cutscenes, it’s Snake at his peak before the accelerated aging kicks in. So the craziness doesn’t seem out of place, I do question Snake running straight at Rex and trying to kick it though
I disagree with MGS gameplay not being good until 4 and 5. Once you understand and learn how every mechanic works together, there's a unique experience you can only get from 1-3. I can understand though, not everyone has the time or care to struggle with the controls. It's just an acquired taste but I will admit it was dumb that we couldn't crouch until 4 or peacewalker, idk which came first. I'd say 4 was accessible and streamlined but 5 was it's own different beast. I still would play 3 over 5 any day though.
This was probably the first PlayStation game I've ever seen, I was just a little baby then, the alert sound byte would scare the shit outta me though.
I was surprised how unfamiliar you guys are with this version. I've played this game so much. And when you guys talked about Cowboy Bebop for the PS1, I never knew about it. I know that there is a PS2 game of Cowboy Bebop but it is very rare!
I did not like Twin Snakes at all, blasphemy to the original product, not having the music is something that I personally can't get past
Yea skip codecs its not like most of the story is embedded in the codec conversations.
If they were doing a full LP you'd have a point but this is basically a longer quick look. So why bother with a story no-one will fully see and when you can show off gameplay elements.

If there's something I can't say I like about the Twin Snakes remake, is that all of the new QOL stuff added to it made the game way too easy. I guess its not as bad if you're playing on harder difficulties but even then its a bit of an issue. It doesn't really ruin the game for me, I still enjoy it a great deal regardless
As with most I have to say MGS3 is probably my favorite game.

i think what people don't like about twin snakes cutscenes (at least what i don't enjoy) is that yes metal gear is silly and fantastical but what i love about it is that even while it has ridiculous convoluted stuff and plotpoints it still manages to make you take it seriously and it does so by taking itself seriously while having moments to tell you "yeah we know this is ridiculous" with stuff like johnny, but twin snakes just seems like a parody that doesn't even try to make the plot serious its just full on dumb and that takes away its charm for me
Forget Mei Ling. Jennifer Hale is absolutely ASLEEP in her role as Naomi in The Twin Snake. How a VA of her caliber phoned it in so badly is beyond me. That itself invalidates all of Twin Snakes.
