I haven’t even tried this yet but I think I’ve found my new favourite way to store & deploy my tarp. I’ve been playing with a jungle knot cord & toggle for my Poncho setup & like that method, but for my tarp this is great. Thanks Blackie 👍

great content, love how thorough you are in the video and how you say which knots you're using as you go. really gets you thinking as to how you can do it with other configurations, such as a quick deploy for a tent-type tarp shelter (the name is escaping me) on the ground.
and i definitely second the comment about a quick pack up version. I've been thinking about what shelters would be fastest to pack away for the last week and the closest I've come up with is the bivy where everything is already nested inside each other and you roll it up, stuff it in a sack. having the tarp do that as well would be fantastic.
adding the 2 packing systems together would be ideal. 1 to throw together when you have pack up time, then 1 to break down and move on when you don't. I'd hate to have to leave my primary shelter behind if i get chased out of camp for whatever reason.

Mighty fine ridge line. Interesting configuration of the tarp and Ridge line. I don't typically like to have my ridge line pre attached to my tarp because camp location can dictate shelter configuration. I can, however, see where that would have advantages under certain circumstances. Thanks for the great video.

Hey Blackie, I know I’m a little late to the party on this video. If you had an old-fashioned round style clothes pin, you could put that in place on your marlinspike hitch with the open end of the clothes pin facing up. Then you could take your stuff sack and hook a tie off cord of that around the clothes pin, then it wouldn’t fall in the mud until after you had everything secured with your truckers hitch. 👍 another great video!

@@blackoracle69 thank you sir for sharing your woodcraft experiences and wisdom. My tarp is by far, the heaviest piece of my kit. It outweighs the rest of my backpack and its contents but, this is by design. I first saw the quick deploy ridgeline a couple of years ago via Shawn Kelly's channel before finding yours and I keep a 25ft, (black) and a 100ft (yellow) paracord version with 4 preloaded prussic loops. I have a 100ft long section of 1500lb test mule tape that will be yet another. That setup has proven to be a time saver. Your modification, will save me more time setting up but more importantly, it will save the frustration fighting with the tarp. Also, I will definitely use the bonus of pre wrapping tent stakes! Finally, this story shared a lesson many will miss...we learn more from sitting down, being quiet and being observant. Peace and God bless.
