One of the things I appreciate most about your channel is the continuity. You've talked about it, interviewed the man and discussed about it and now you're showing us how.
I definitely want more of this more advanced stuff!
I appreciate that
Blackie i am in my nineth decade and still learning from your most interesting vids.thankyou
OMG, Blackie thanks, now I can pleat my great kilt without dragging through the wet leaves and mud! A ridge line at waste level, no muss, no fuss
lol
Exactly! I have never seen a better way to fold down the tarp in rain before
Can’t hit that Like button hard enough on this one, Blackie! Haven’t seen a tarp deploy like this on the YTubes ever. You shared a unique efficient knowledge and it’s very much appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed it
God bless, I'm 77 and still learning. Thank you.
Great way to prep for deployment
yes it is
Can’t wait for more in the advanced woodscraft series.
more to come
I haven’t even tried this yet but I think I’ve found my new favourite way to store & deploy my tarp. I’ve been playing with a jungle knot cord & toggle for my Poncho setup & like that method, but for my tarp this is great. Thanks Blackie 👍
Great to hear!
Gold, pure gold, Blackie!! Thanks so much💥💥
That's slicker than a snotty doorknob Blackie
Sounds like a super spreader lol
lol
Probably the best tutorial I have ever seen.
thank you
As a newbie, I am deeply appreciative of you sharing your experiences. I have learned a lot from your channel! Thank you soooo much!
Game changer for setting up a rain tarp during a typical Texas thunderstorm.
yep same in bama and the out of no where thunderstorms
great content, love how thorough you are in the video and how you say which knots you're using as you go. really gets you thinking as to how you can do it with other configurations, such as a quick deploy for a tent-type tarp shelter (the name is escaping me) on the ground.
and i definitely second the comment about a quick pack up version. I've been thinking about what shelters would be fastest to pack away for the last week and the closest I've come up with is the bivy where everything is already nested inside each other and you roll it up, stuff it in a sack. having the tarp do that as well would be fantastic.
adding the 2 packing systems together would be ideal. 1 to throw together when you have pack up time, then 1 to break down and move on when you don't. I'd hate to have to leave my primary shelter behind if i get chased out of camp for whatever reason.
Great video, as always! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Preparation is always a better way.
So true!
Great content learned something today
Glad I could help
This is worth learning just to impress friends
lol
Wow I'll definitely look forward to mastering the quick deploy tarp, thanks blackie .👍
glad you liked it
As always, I learn something new every time I watch you. Thank you!
My pleasure!
Mighty fine ridge line. Interesting configuration of the tarp and Ridge line. I don't typically like to have my ridge line pre attached to my tarp because camp location can dictate shelter configuration. I can, however, see where that would have advantages under certain circumstances. Thanks for the great video.
Very cool thank you!!!
Great tip! Thanks 🤠
Now thats slick! Thank you.
Brilliant Blackie. Thanks mate
Awesome tip!!!
Genius!
Really advanced, super fast.. Pls tell him TY for my Freedom.. Amen.
will do

Очень очень умно и удобно. Спасибо

Great lesson 👍 I will have to add to my bag of tricks
Please do!
Would like to see a quick deploy for your one wind hammock with built in bug net.
YESSSSS
That's GOOD!! :D
IT also allows you to wring out your tarp from any rain water that was on it as you roll it up.
Fantastic job Blackie ! Smoothing it
Hey Blackie, I know I’m a little late to the party on this video. If you had an old-fashioned round style clothes pin, you could put that in place on your marlinspike hitch with the open end of the clothes pin facing up. Then you could take your stuff sack and hook a tie off cord of that around the clothes pin, then it wouldn’t fall in the mud until after you had everything secured with your truckers hitch. 👍 another great video!
Thanks for the tip!
Solid technique!
You give the greatest tips! This is awesome!!
glad to do it
Blackie I just found your channel and so glad I did. Great stuff!!!!!!!!

You're welcome!
I love it, it's brilliant. I don't think it even takes that long to fold away compared to what I would do otherwise. Fast deploy tarp on a fast deploy ridgeline - I'm sold!

Bowline and rollin’ 😄
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing this with us! And thanks for the info on the Geneva outing.
Stephen
You bet!
That’s a great way to deploy a tarp in A frame configuration without a hammock. I use a snakeskin for tarp over hammock and keep the guy-lines attached to the tarp.
Sounds great!
Thanks for making the video. Food for thought.
My pleasure!
Thank you for always sharing complete sets of information so everyone can learn and grow from this valuable knowledge! Cheers!

Hi Blackie, that's awesome and good to know. Thanks to you and Sir Francis for sharing the knowledge.👍
Any time!
Now I'm picturing how well this will go over with my 10 x 12 canvas waxed tarp. Of course, I have to try it.
still works i have done a 12 x 12 this way before
@@blackoracle69 thank you sir for sharing your woodcraft experiences and wisdom. My tarp is by far, the heaviest piece of my kit. It outweighs the rest of my backpack and its contents but, this is by design. I first saw the quick deploy ridgeline a couple of years ago via Shawn Kelly's channel before finding yours and I keep a 25ft, (black) and a 100ft (yellow) paracord version with 4 preloaded prussic loops. I have a 100ft long section of 1500lb test mule tape that will be yet another. That setup has proven to be a time saver. Your modification, will save me more time setting up but more importantly, it will save the frustration fighting with the tarp. Also, I will definitely use the bonus of pre wrapping tent stakes! Finally, this story shared a lesson many will miss...we learn more from sitting down, being quiet and being observant. Peace and God bless.
Super good stuff. Thanks for the lesson Blackie. 🙂👍
My pleasure!
Damn, this is gold
glad you liked it
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY brother and thank you for sharing your information and adventures

That is impressive. Very informative and well thought out. Thank you for this information. Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm gonna have to watch this a few more times to let it sink in. This would be great if you needed to set up a tarp for when rain comes in fast.
Great video. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts.
thanks
