Thanks for showing this jewel! Its a beauty for sure, no rust means you can keep it as is. Get it mechanically sound and she will start each time. These motors were made to be so reliable. Nothing like what we have now!
Glad to hear you are going to leave the patina! Hope that everything goes well with boring it out! It will make a nice piece when it's done! Also I'm pretty sure it's a Model FG( I believe that only 1 model used 2 rockers and I'm pretty sure it's the FG but I'm not 100% sure.) Definitely not an FI though lol. Looking forward to seeing it run!
Hate to say it but mine is definitely an FI and what Briggs refers to "Full Power". The Briggs FG still had the atmospheric intake valve. There is Speculation that later FG's may have gotten the updated intake valve. But thanks for the thoughts.
@@mechanectricresurrection7091 Really??? I could have sworn it was the FG that had 2 rockers lol. Man I got them all messed up then! 😂 You will have to forgive me I'm only 17 lol. Very cool either way!!
No apology needed! I'm just glad to see some of the younger generation such as yourself taking an interest in old engines and mechanical things. Don't give up on getting your own engines, I know the prices these days are ridiculous. Keep an eye out for farm auctions in your local area as that's where you can find engines at a good price. Also head on over to Smokstak.com if you haven't already. That site is a heaven of engine knowledge.
@@mechanectricresurrection7091 You aren't the first person to tell me that lol! I've done pretty well so far and really haven't spent much money at all. I've only bought 4 of the engines in my collection( I think I'm nearing 20 engines maybe?) and 2 of those 4 were 20 bucks or less. I'm getting close to getting an F series! I actually just bought a 1936 Model H lol! Yea I joined the stak several years ago when I started collecting and it's a hug help! If you are interested I also make videos of getting my engines going and have a bunch on my channel! It's a lot of fun to get them going again and also fun to make youtube videos as I'm sure you know!
@@mechanectricresurrection7091 I just looked it up and I had the FI and FG confused. I was thinking of the yours was an FH and the FG was the FI lol! Definitely IS and FI !
