- I'm in favour of easy mode! I think any game, even Dark Souls and Elden Ring could implement an easy mode that wouldn't detract from the punishing combat the series is famous for.
Because one of the great things about any video game is the options menu! Video games are the only artistic medium that lets it's audience tailor the content to suit them!
You can't set War and Peace to easy so you can read it in a weekend and you can't turn off the blood in Friday the 13th to make it more kid friendly.

I was "A HARDCORE GAMER" who played ALWAYS ,The Hardest mode ( if there is one) 1st.
& I was " A purest snob" once upon a time.
But, now I'm Old ,and I have MS. & Osteo- Arthritis, so I really appreciate all of The OPTIONS The developers have given us ,
as they enable me to still get lost in gaming.
I still play " for real " , the way its intended...but, after I use all of my options,..with no shame!
The 1st RE 2, I " Legitimately earned" all
of the infinite weapons,
RE2 remake..
...I had to realize my limitations due to illness and purchased my infinite weapons( after trying for them more than a billion xs, all I managed to earn
Legitimately was "The LS ,Machine Gun" ....with pride ).... I know what I used to be able to do ,so I have no shame in purchasing what I need help with.

I'm sorry to hear about your illness but i think it's great your able to find the fun in gaming still!
I too am now old and i think my glorious hardcore days are nearly behind me. Although I did finish Returnal and Sifu recently so my thumbs aren't done yet!
But if your still unlocking those RE2 weapons i'd say your still hardcore too!

As long as this discourse keeps getting dug up, the more I'm happy Miyazaki doesn't listen to the people demanding an easy mode.
Just play something easy.
