    That first film was narrated by Paul Harvey, albeit with younger voice and somewhat different delivery than he later had.

    This is awesome I got 1937 Allis-Chalmers on tracks that I used with a saw mill can't use it right now during the mud season the holy cow Hill drive in the mud and everything but I'm going to make giant holes if I do it right now I got to wait about 2 more weeks and did good on the snow this winter

    I remember AC very well---they made a good machine---sad they didn't make it. I've seen where they had teamed up with other machine mfg's----mabye the competition was to hard to stay up with. I started my construction career in the late 50's---heavy, highway and tunnels----enjoyed every minute for over 50 years.

      Yup, AC made great equipment, and I still use my grandfather's D17 III at the home place. I can't even image that farm without it, thanks for watching and commenting!

    I had an Allis HD-5 Ag tractor with the front end loader kit. I built a 13' rake for piling brush. It was an awsome machine. Amazing low end power out if thst little 'Jimmy'.

      My dad and uncle had a HD5 for farming,also had a vplow for keeping roads open

      Agree, so many farmers built roads in the country with their rigs and kept them open so the the kids could get to school! Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it!

    Hey Opa, how goes? You guys really do get proper weather. And you have the ploughs too! Here in the old world, personally I've only known minus 26 Celsius inside a walk-in freezer and nine foot deep snow one winter after Mt St Helens erupted. Great vid

      Not an easy job either!! I've used a cabless tractor during winter, and a heat houser will only do so much!! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I always wonder why Allis Chalmers never made a wheel skidder... They made loaders and a complete sawmill

    • @opasvintagegarage
      @opasvintagegarage  Год назад

      Yup, that's a heck of a good question. Too bad, I've got some relatives out west that have a Deere dealership that only sold forestry equipment and never really felt the 80s AG slowdown.
