3:24 You can absolutely swallow your saliva. Being overly cautious might, intentionally or not, dabble into the territory of innovation. Innovation of any kind is totally prohibited in Islam. For example, some people have decided to celebrate certain events as if they were Islamic holidays, claiming it's important not to forget. However, we understand that this is completely impermissible. Being cautious is fine, but punishing yourself or seeking reward through innovation is not the way to go. When you're fasting, you follow the way the Prophet (PBUH) fasted. Simply put: no drinking and no eating.

@@Mutazili nah, he told us to use our brain and we can follow any madhab, but we must check every ruling if it is based on the Quran and the Hadeeth and follow what you think is closer to those. This advice is also applicable to his own teaching.
