You never forgive the unrepentant. He is unrepentant, for he expresses no sorrow for what he did, nor does he admit fault. He merely says, "this, is my religion, to treat them this way, for they have little or no white blood in them." I hope God never forgives him or others who think as he does. But I know I should feel otherwise, for Jesus said, be as your father is in heaven.. It is not a coincidence that an arab woman is interviewing him.

I have been tortured. Was tortured for seven months without ever having committed a crime. There is a criminal, psycopathic derangement in anybody who tortures another. No normal human being with a soul could torture anybody else...
"Enhanced interrogation" (it's torture) doesn't even produce viable information! People will say anything in those conditions. Anyone who can look at the photos of those people being tortured physically, psychologically, and sexually and say that it's justified have no morals. Posing, smiling with thumbs up with a dead body? And to get sentenced to THREE YEARS? Despicable
Exactly it goes against every single American principle. In world war two soldiers and citizens weren’t scared to surrender or fall in the hands of Americans because they knew they would be treated fairly. Then they say they regret the pictures being taken but don’t regret the torture they inflicted on a person and then smiled. Disgusting.
Torture is not acceptable and should never be to the American people. These people weren't contractors they were paid mercenaries, which should be some thing else that the USA is against. Taxpayer dollars paid for these perversions. That's unacceptable.
Neither Cruz or True understand or know "definition" of torture. Waterboarding is absolutely torture. According to the U.N. torture includes anything that would evoke physical or psychological suffering. I think waterboarding is right in the wheelhouse of that definition.
Regret is not the same thing as seeking atonement and there's not the sense this guy wants to do more than find forgiveness and voice regrets, there is more awareness of the effect being a torturer had on him than the effect of his torturing on the tortured. Has he faced that? Doesn't look like it. When he found his convictions he also had the courage of them but this was about twelve years too late and he seems to not see beyond his own grief and guilt to see the scale of the damage he did to living and breathing human beings, he cannot admit he is a war criminal even as he admits to war crimes. That is a poor form of contrition, it is sorrow for the self and not any kind of humanitarian compassion for the victims of his crimes. Maybe one day he'll be able to admit to being guilty of crimes against humanity but this sure as shit ain't that day.

Almost all the candidates now approve torture. I blame it on the Israelis, who approve it and are considered the referees of right and wrong these days. But Trump is the "anti-war candidate" if you stop to think about it. Any form of time effective and efficient interrogation--torture or not--should be justified for anyone that is proven to be withholding information that may cost the lives of innocent people (that's your children, parents, husbands, wives, and yourself). These interrogators treat inmates who share information with dignity and respect.
You're missing the point and putting words into my mouth. Please argue logically; those that are cooperative are given good food and comfortable accommodations. They live a life better than you see in prison.
What's more wrong: letting innocent lives be blown apart in a preventable planned terrorist attack or torturting a terrorist to effectively gather information that will save innocent lives? Also, "torture" as it is commonly described is highly ineffective. Forcing someone to live sleeplessly in a cold room while naked is a more feasible way of making them want to eat hot donuts and get a bed with a nice warm blanket.
None of what you described overcomes the pain in suffering from the deaths of many innocent lives because inmates are too extreme to share information. Your doubts of the efficacy of the described techniques seem to be generalizations; much psychological research has been invested in the interrogation techniques used and therefore your psychological opinion on the matter is invalid. There is no physical harm or detriment to the inmates health. It is only discomfort. There is an FBI statistic somewhere that shows 99% of crimes go unseen. I'll make an effort find a link if you question its validity although it should be easy to believe. I'm also not implying that it should be used for general policing on American citizens--only terrorists that are proven to have information that involves mass destruction and deaths of innocent people.
