I think that's a very safe PR statement that they gave about being apolitical. Since there is such hero worship that happens in our country when it comes to actors, they refrain from speaking so that their opinion won't blow-up in their faces. They are always scrutinized for something or the other. Sometimes the most trivial things. doaa you’re such a loser Ranveer stooge... he’s privileged and comes from a rich family. He also did not give his true opinion about he azaadi question. The day he says what he feels will be the day he shows his honest self out. You will never understand because you have never struggled in life when all these rich star kids have everything handed down to them in a platter. Rajveer’s dad paid his way to him getting his first movie...
It's great that in India someone belonging to a rich family who had the misforutne of travelling to US once a year while growing up is the face of hip hop via cinema-a genre that has largely been enriched by working class including African Americans in the US.
No offense to divine and filmmakers, but they're just aping hip hop culture that belongs to a particular race. It's embarrassing the rap music from this movie.
Well the music is good, to me. And why would you feel a certain style of music belongs to a race !? Sure they must have started it , but I’d say it belongs to people of a social strata , a race happened to be most representative of that strata, back then.
To those brainless fellows who are stuck about Ranveers dressing but not appreciating his effortless intellectual answers. 'GROW UP KIDDOS' RANVEER IS THE BEST IN HIS OWN STYLE/WAY
Anupama really asked some important questions- on screen vs off screen personalities, salaries, things they stand for. Alia was more forthcoming in her replies without being politically incorrect. Ranveer I feel takes these interviews too lightly. It's promotion time. I would suggest that such good questions get asked at times when there's an actual interview happening and not a promotional campaign. I know that these stars give very few real interviews otherwise, so this is probably the only time that Anupama can ask questions at all. But for the sake of the questions, I feel bad when the answers are so blah to such good questions. At one point she even says "are you looking at your cats?" I think that sums up the way the actors treat these promotional interviews. It's the "just get over with it" attitude. Sad.
I came here after watching GULLYBOY three times. Zoya Akhtar interview was great. First time watching Ranveer Singh. He commands respect and inspires people.
Everything alia says makes sense from the authenticity to the salary part and then people feel the need to comment on her not having a degree ...It hasn't impacted her personality in any way when people like kareena and sonam who have degrees speak utter bullshit and behave like snobs then what's the point of getting educated ? Kudos to this woman for bearing so much criticism from the start of her career from general knowledge to nepotism and what not ...She used to be compared to parineeti/shraddha earlier now she's compared to deepika who started out before her ! Clearly she didn't give two fucks about haters and her haters must be still out there probably busy hating on ananya and judging her based on a talk show 😂 things people do to vent their frustration in life !
Well Anupama's questions are too good!! Yes its true that its the era of Ranveer Singh!! Just hear his answers they are so good!! Highly intellectual, the way he describes each and every situation it feels as if I am also there and the visuals going on !!!! Except the azaadi question
Kudos to Anupama Chopra for, yet again, asking very relevant questions related to the politics of the film. To everyone who was unhappy with her for asking the questions related to 'Propaganda' in Uri or Thackeray and said that she was biased, here she is questioning the cultural significance of a song like Azaadi and the actor's responsibility to stand by it. Keep bring us such entertaining interviews with keep up the quality of your questions. Though, I am really dissatisfied with Ranveer's answer to the Azaadi question. No matter on which side of the political spectrum you are once, you'll agree that Ranveer took the easy way out and did not answer the question Anupama asked. He should own, in a sense, every aspect of the film. "I was not directly involved with the creation of the track" is like if Vicky Kaushal said 'I don't think Uri was propaganda because I was not involved in the meetings that might or might not have happened between the director of the film and the BJP'. Vicky gave a very sensible and logical, to some extent, answer to the question related to 'propaganda' because he stood by the film and was proud of it. If we look at the song Azaadi like a propaganda from the other side, Ranveer, and even Alia for that matter, just dodged the very important question surrounding it which suggests that he is not proud of all the elements of his own film and not fully aware of what his film stands for. If your film is about a coming of age story of a rapper and you don't want to stand by the songs in the film then what sort of an artist you really are. "Azaadi was just used for a montage ", Ranveer, you could have just easily said "Yaar vo Kanhaiya wala part galti se add ho gaya" if you didn't want to stand by the bold statement that that song makes.
Thank you for not letting them get away with their real-life cozying up to nationalists, while singing about "azadi" on screen. It's high time celebs in India were held accountable.
Ranbir and Ranveer are like north and south poles... In terms of on-screen and off-screen personas. Ranbir's strength is emotions.. Raw emotional scenes where you just need your eyes and face to perform and lot of silence and "ttheraav'. Ranbir's acting is all in his eyes. Ranveer's strength is his versatility and his body language. He uses his whole body to showcase the performance. He can also pull of different shades and types of characters - loud, urban, negative, small town. Subtlety is not Ranveer's strong point, in your face is (in a good way).
Renuka Deshai ranveer>>>>>>> any day anytime. I can imagine ranveer in any role. He can play subtle character too cause there is a calmer side of him that he doesn’t show to the public. He can be anything. Ranveer is more fun to watch on and off screen
I don't know ..But why was Alia so vigorously shaking her legs. Also Ranveer saying "A lot is going in my life right now ..hence, I am pretty much apolitical and apathetic to politics" is the stupidest thing one can ever say.
What’s wrong with that? Sometimes personal life takes so much out of a person that they can’t really focus on the country’s issues and who is doing what. Maybe you’ve not gone through such times.. lucky you. But as someone who’s gone through big changes in personal life, such as marriage and moving from a place you’ve lived most of your life to somewhere foreign, I can understand what he is saying.
But that's probably a good thing to say you're apolitical because you would lose some extreme elements of your fan following if you support any one side

They are paid to act and perform and bring somebody's else's vision to life. There are people who are paid to comment on politics maybe that's the video you should watch and demand answers from.
@@AditiSharma-tg9iw thats my point precisely Aditi. That it isn't about a particular profession . Why I think actors and other people who propagate ideas about life should be held accountable is because they are more influential than you and me sitting here, whether we want to accept that or not. I get it when you say it is a 20 minute and we wouldn't know them or their ideology through and through. But they are political in the things they say and in the roles they choose. My point is that you are political even when you say you aren't. And here I m not talking about the apparent politics we know of ,but politics as an ideology . Politics that you own as an actor ,as a male ,as a male, politics that even you and I hold. I m saying one should be especially aware of the social position one is occupying and understand that narrative are dictated through an influential medium ,whether we like it or not. One cannot engage in it or run away from ,when one is a part of it
I think that's a very safe PR statement that they gave about being apolitical. Since there is such hero worship that happens in our country when it comes to actors, they refrain from speaking so that their opinion won't blow-up in their faces. They are always scrutinized for something or the other. Sometimes the most trivial things. Politics is a subject which can seriously hurt sentiments and honestly they'd rather shut up than create an uproar before their film. Not every opinion of theirs need to be public.
Alia on point 👌🏽found it applicable to myself as well, solid advice
Ranveer baba ❤😍
Watching too much interviews about a movie can ruin the actual fun of the movie, I am feeling these days, is it right or just happens with me??
I agree
yeah, you lose the mystery.
Yup, soon they are gonna exhaust this.
Exactly!! This aggressive pr just kills the suspense....
Exactly..look at ittefaq
Alia coming with another character to won our hearts
This interview and the recent one with zoya on this channel is pure gold. Great job FC.
People have different sides. Believing a person is ‘just’ happy going or otherwise is just a mere absence of one’s reflection
I do not understand those who write these trivial negative comments haters .. Are you just here to criticize .. Is this how you feel that you are important person and have opinion in your miserable life ...grow up
This is an open forum ma'am and everyone has a right to express their opinion and by saying what am saying am not supporting the negative comments in any way but just letting you know that, the forum is like that only.

doaa you’re such a loser Ranveer stooge... he’s privileged and comes from a rich family.
Oh man... his vocabulary is splendid
Alia always speaks straight facts
To those brainless fellows who are stuck about Ranveers dressing but not appreciating his effortless intellectual answers. 'GROW UP KIDDOS' RANVEER IS THE BEST IN HIS OWN STYLE/WAY

I thought my video got stuck at 0:54.
Raashi Mudholkar me tooo
I was so excited to watch this the moment I saw the thumbnail and it was a great interview of 2 amazing actors.
Its certainly Ranveer era and contemporary actors are taking over. No longer are the Khans ruling the industry.
Couldn't find words more than this ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
praveen raj go back to school.
GOODBYE I'M BATHING IN MY LOVE FOR RANVEER 😍
Anupama Chopra is the best interviewer!! She knows how to ask the questions without hurting the guests.
Koi Ranveer ko smjhae haae 😅😄 kon h stylist bechari hahaha but loved his coolness you rock man.😘
Kudos to Anupama Chopra for, yet again, asking very relevant questions related to the politics of the film.
Ranvir: I have learned to tone down my energy.
Anupama: Ok now you can implement it.
That made my day.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Diptanu Chaudhuri not funny at all. He’s just being himself
Alia has grown up mature.... Love her she's one of d finest actresses in our generation as per me... Ranveer u r osm!!!! 💖💖
It took me a while to notice that there's Ranveer sitting beside Alia. I thought it's just a part of the couch. hahaha.
Then probably you are delusional. Ranveer gave THE BEST answers...in this interview.
@Tunir Biswas that's what I am stating...seeing the unwanted and missing the important

Why both are sitting like this"/~/"
Ranveer you are not good you are GREAT!!!
Anupama that question about Azadi was rambling and not strait forward, allowing both actors ample opportunity to ghumao the question.
right
Can't wait for Gully boy❤❤❤

I just love alia's last answer about salary
Ranveer is wearing tiger baby dress
Rrachita Gupta nice observation.
haha nice obs
That Prada hat is really bothering me😫
Ranveer Singh's personality reminds me of Chris Gayle.😂😂😂😂
Thank you for not letting them get away with their real-life cozying up to nationalists, while singing about "azadi" on screen. It's high time celebs in India were held accountable.
18:30 anupama chopra nails it grow a spine bollywood
Ranbir and Ranveer are like north and south poles... In terms of on-screen and off-screen personas.
Ranbir's strength is emotions.. Raw emotional scenes where you just need your eyes and face to perform and lot of silence and "ttheraav'. Ranbir's acting is all in his eyes. Ranveer's strength is his versatility and his body language. He uses his whole body to showcase the performance. He can also pull of different shades and types of characters - loud, urban, negative, small town. Subtlety is not Ranveer's strong point, in your face is (in a good way).
Ranbir is far better actor than Ranveer in expressing subtle nuances and body language. His acting is classy.
Renuka Deshai ranveer>>>>>>> any day anytime. I can imagine ranveer in any role. He can play subtle character too cause there is a calmer side of him that he doesn’t show to the public. He can be anything. Ranveer is more fun to watch on and off screen
Ranveer and alia have such a great chemistry🙌
0:50 to 1:00 funniest part of the interview 😂 and the camera. Whoever edited that, great job. 😂😂
Ranveer is the next Aamir+Salman+SRK combined into one
0:55 to 1:01 looks like a moment straight out of a comedy film!
😂Well spotted 👋
😂😂😂😂
I don't know ..But why was Alia so vigorously shaking her legs.
Also Ranveer saying "A lot is going in my life right now ..hence, I am pretty much apolitical and apathetic to politics" is the stupidest thing one can ever say.
Lol
What’s wrong with that? Sometimes personal life takes so much out of a person that they can’t really focus on the country’s issues and who is doing what. Maybe you’ve not gone through such times.. lucky you. But as someone who’s gone through big changes in personal life, such as marriage and moving from a place you’ve lived most of your life to somewhere foreign, I can understand what he is saying.
sandeep rathold But he was talking about the country’s politics only - Anupama made it clear with Modiji’s picture
When you're so privileged you can choose to be apolitical 😂
But that's probably a good thing to say you're apolitical because you would lose some extreme elements of your fan following if you support any one side
