I agree with you on Libre. It does smell very generic. I own a travel spray. And I know I will not repurchase it. I also don't think Black Opium anything special. I own Mon Guerlain 1.0oz. To me it's spicy and I don't like spicy fragrance. Thankfully it doesn't give me headache so I am still wearing it but I won't repurchase. I know I will never own MFK Baccarat Rouge. I bought Kayali Vanilla and returned it right away.🙊🙈
The way you described Black Opium (I agree with your review) is exactly how I'd describe Good Girl, except the latter is even more cloying. I'm really not into the "dump every popular note into one bottle" style perfumes 😆 Another perfume I can't get on board with is Byredo Bal d'Afrique. Saying that is equivalent to blasphemy in the fragrance world, but to me it just smells sweaty - like someone who applied some citrusy floral perfume in the morning and has been sweating in the heat all day.
Have you ever tried Golden Decade from Zara? It’s a dupe of Libre but sweeter with Vanilla. I love Libre! I can certainly understand how it rubs you off. The dupe from Zara is way better. I love Black Opium. Hundred Silent Ways gave me Black Opium vibes when I sprayed it yesterday. Mmmmmmm I love chocolate frags. You might want to get a sample of Julianna’s Call Me By Your Name. That’s a chocolate you might like. 🤔
Libre (and lots of orange blossom fragrances) smell like clean laundry to me 😅. I like it but don’t love it enough to get it. And I totally agree with you about Light Blue! I’m not a fan of fresh/citrus fragrances but this one in particular…I’m biased against it due to my ex tho so it’s not the perfume’s fault 🤧). I recently got Arabians Tonka and while I love it, it was a bit underwhelming because it smelled so much like my Roses Vanille & Instant Crush. I think the thing that bothered me most about that fragrance is that it’s just so freaking strong (nuclear!!) and soooo sweet and a bit metallic/sharp. Still like it but wow, not what I was expecting!
Yup I got the same vibe out of Arabians Tonka as well. I made the mistake of spraying it close to my face… and I liked the smell for the first 5 minutes or so but then it got so intense , and the waffs of perfume made me so sick I had to change my clothes.
I am on board with you on so many of these! I prefer Iibre intense over the EDP, and Mon Guerlain Intense over the EDP. I think because they are heavier on the vanilla and much better blended.
I really dislike ysl Libre too but I LOVE the Libre intense. Regarding L’interdit, I’m curious why people don’t mention the candy-like note in it. It ruined the fragrance for me. With Mon Guerlain it really is all about the dry down for me which I love. I can’t stand black opium either! The new Extreme is a lot better but you have to wait for the dry down as the initial blast is way too similar to the original. And Light Blue…ugh SAME!!!!! I have not smelled the last two on your list. My personal biggest disappointment was Italica.
Libre is way too masculine for me. L’*Interdit is too mature and has too much white floral for me. Black Opium is too… just there for me. Nothing unique.
I sniffed mon guerlain and Libre and was not a fan of either. I kinda want to give them a 2nd chance because I feel like I’m missing out as much as they’re raved about😆😅 …black opium is one I want to try and has been on my wishlist for a while now… and light blue intense is a lifer for me! And I think it’s because citrusy fresh scents are where my perfume journey took off from, MAC turquatic was one of my first perfumes and I love it! Thanks for sharing, love your vids…one perfume that everyone loves so much but it’s just meh for me is Kayali Vanilla 28, again I want to give it a 2nd shot, tho…. for some reason the fragrance drydown goes weird 2nd hand smokiness on my skin, but I want to love it so bad😭, utopia coco vanille, I love tho🤷♀️

It didn’t smell like a perfume to start with, there was nothing about it to rave about, it just smelt like a sterile cold dentist office to me… not bottle worthy at all🙅♀️ I have samples of YSL libre and mon guerlan on the way to see if those are worth the hype as well
Gabby does the same, sitting up here saying The Embrace by Navitus is roasted almond, it’s the best gourmand. I bought that thing, it’s nothing but cooking sesame oil, and she still won’t admit it. They probably pay her, cause ain’t no way. I don’t k who who she’s fooling as if someone doesn’t know what sesame oil smells like.
Agree on Libre, Mon Guerlain, Black Opium, Chanel No.5, L’Interdit, and Light Blue - couldn’t stand them. Libre smells like a detergent soap! Big disappointments for me are Black Orchid, CK Escape, Burberry Her EDP. Kayali Vanilla 28 has grown into me though.. i now like its juice, kinda smells a bit stronger over the time.
I agree with you about L’interdit!!! The dry-down of the original L’interdit was so overwhelming and suffocating for me. I found the opening juicy and refreshing, but as soon as it reached the mid-dry down I had to scrub it off my skin. It smelled like an expired grape candy. 😬
For me, what smells good on my body chemistry is all that matters. My personal favorite fragrance that works best with my chemistry is Lancôme Hypnose. An oldie but a goodie!
mon guerlain is also not my fav the bottle is cute but it’s the lavender i don’t like that in perfumes same with black opium when i smelt that it’s just coffee for me i hate it😩
Agree with everything you reviewed except D and G light blue. It’s a classic and maybe too many people wear it but it does not smell like toilet cleaner. I am not sure what brand you use but Omg no way lol

My unpopular opinions: Valentino Donna Born in Roma and Armani My Way. Both quickly turned into a synthetic generic mess of sweet cheap smelling chemicals that turns my stomach. I love scents with blackcurrant (e.g. PdM Meliora) and I adore Tuberose, including bubblegummy Tuberose scents. But both of the above scents made me feel queasy. I couldn't even return them to the department store because they had been opened and tested... and no one I knew wanted them... so in the end I threw them out. Couldn't even stand them as bathroom sprays unfortunately.

Italica was a disappointment for me too! It smelled good, just too much like straight up food for me. 😌😌

Black Opium Libre is horrid so I definitely agree with you there.. I also can't stand the dry down on Alien Goddess and Good Girl.
