- Lonesome Lake Trail and hut are places we like to re-visit! You'd think we'd keep going up to the Kinsman peaks; but we have so much fun taking it easy at the lake. This time we came at the end of the off-season, just as Spring was turning to Summer. This video is about our experience. The Lonesome Lake trail has steep parts and rocks; but it is known as "easy" because it is only 1.5 miles long.

Thanks for documenting this with such good quality! I'm planning to visit this spring
Awesome. It is good all year round in that area. Hope you have an epic trip!
Thank you for documenting these huts. We're planning a trip early May for a hut overnight.
My pleasure. I love the huts. The only one I've never stayed at is Madison. I would like to go again to all of them. My favorite is.... hnmnmnmn.... Greenleaf?
Great vid. A friend recommended this hike to me tonight..... thought I'd look it up. I will have to do this hike sometime soon.
Love your videos!
Thank you!
Is the hut open year round? My friend wants to hike with his son in October and camp somewhere. All me to come along. Came back backpacking the bold coast At the Cutler Trailhead in Lubec Maine and spent the night on the Cliffs. Beautiful. Thanks for the video
Some of the huts are usually open year round. Lonesome Lake is one of the huts open year round. My husband and daughter have visited there in winter and enjoyed the trip. Right now all huts are closed due to Covid.
In non-COVID times, Lonesome Lake, Zealand Falls Hut and Carter Notch Hut are all open year round.
Nice vid, defiantly will go with the wife
Awesome how long did it take you guys to get to the lake ?
It's about 1.5 miles one way and I guess it took us between one and two hours at a leisurely pace.
