Orchha FORT 🏰, Madhya Pradesh, INDIA 💚🧡. Orchha Fort and Palace in India.
Orchha Fort and Palace is located on an island formed by the Betwa River and the Jamni River. The island was surrounded with a wall and the palace has several buildings built at different times. The most characteristic rooms are the Royal Temple (Rajmandir) and the Jahangir Mahal (Jahangir Palace).
Rudra Pratap Singh, who reigned between 1501 and 1531, ordered the construction of the fort in 1501.
The palaces and temples that are part of the fortress were not originally built, but have been added during the successive reigns of the Maharajas of Orchha. Of these, the Raja Mandir or Raja Mahal was built by Madhukar Shah, who ruled between 1554 and 1591. And the Jahangir Mahal and Sawan Bhadon Mahal were raised during the reign of Vir Singh Deo (1605-1627).
