I think you are reading too much into the parable, and trying to make too much fit into it. Revelation expounds on the resurrection, among many other things. The righteous and wicked are not resurrected at the same time. There are two resurrections, as confirmed in Daniel 12:2 and Revelation 20. Also, we don't go to heaven when Jesus returns. He is coming to us, to reign on the earth. Then, after his Millennial Reign on earth, the GWT Judgement happens, and then the New Heaven and New earth where God and the Lamb will dwell among us. Furthermore, I believe that the place Jesus prepared for us, is not to dwell with Him in heaven, but is the "the holy city New Jerusalem" which comes down to us. Notice how the holy city is PREPARED as a bride adorned for her husband, and it is called the tabernacle of God. Revelation 21:2-3 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Continuing on with the resurrection: The first resurrection is of all of the believers of all time, and the second is of the wicked to be judged at the GWT Judgement. The first resurrection also includes those who are alive and as 1 Thess 4:16-17 and 1 Cor 15:50-52 further explains. You can see that the two resurrections are separated by the Millennial reign of Christ on earth. Daniel 12:2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Revelation 20:12-13, 15 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. ... And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
I know most Baptist ministers with their Doctorates will say - the spirit went to God at death & a spirit is conscious, immediately at death....
