Hello. Why do you add 4 then you divide by 4 again to the actual measurements....

The 4" is the seam allowance. And you need to divide by 4 to cut your fabric

Your sewing allowance and divided by 4 because you cut deont and back separately, that's divided by 2 also, the front is to be folded into 2 likewise the back, hence divided by 4. Thanks always
