I used a Bluetooth receiver after installing a new cd deck into my 2001 525i. Super happy to have had this video and ecstatic to have hardline to Aux for Bluetooth receiver, sounds basically as good as the CD deck!

@Isaac Bobby i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I also want to do this but on my mid has one knob more that says dsp, is this no problem. Thank you in advance. and also thanks for sharing this kind of information.
Bimmer zeit, after buying a 2003 auto 530i only a few months after I got a 2002 manual 530i which obviously is gonna be kept. However, I tried today to connect an auxiliary kit bought from ebay - not the original BMW kit though - but one which is identical with 3 wires. I connected the other brown & white and black & white from the 2002 530i to the kit I have bought - so 5 wires in total - and plug them in the main connector housing. It was no change, the display only shown RADIO and CD but no AUX. I have to mention that on the back of my 2002 manual 530i radio is mentioned : 2002 JUNE That means that radio won't work in this case because of its too old production date. Is it any other way to install the MP3 kit in this case ? I have one solution : swap the 2003 530i radio - which has a 2003 production date - into the 2002 530i ... is it gonna work in this case ? Thank you !
Another excellent video. I have a 2005 x5 with standard radio and cd player. I was thinking of drilling a hole in the faceplate of the cd player on the left or right side. How do you think that would work?
Hello! I did everything like you showed, radio is moving but not coming out. Even if i tried to use pry tool to remove it. Do you have any suggestions?
I have the same problem. I assumed that it was because I can't have my 6-CD changer and the aux connected at the same time, but I can't find any info to confirm.
I clicked the link and it didn’t show this cable, but it showed some kind of white screen with a cord coming out of it. Is that the right thing to order?
Yes, it is correct. It looks like some of the actual images of the kit are not on the listing. But is showing an aux cable to an iPod. Look at the reviews for actual images.
@@BIMMERZEITT The new radio will allow for AUX capability. But I won't be able to connect that radio with my old connector since it's different. Not sure how people solved that issue?
@@amirhajdarevic1054 this is your problem my friend. My video demonstrates the genuine BMW part being installed. Nearly everyone in the comment section with problems has bought the cheap Chinese copy on Amazon. See the disclaimer and warning in my video description!
I managed to get this to work in my 2003 525i but the two existing wires (black and white and black and brown) that go into the new aux cable are really really loose when I plug them in. Right now everything is working okay, but I'm worried they'll fall out or come loose. Any way to secure them better?
Thanks for the tutorial, it helps a lot! A doubt! How could you repair the CD player's radio display? I see in other videos that the display does not look the same. I have the same problem with mine. Thanks for your answer! Regards!
you said "before reinstalling the cd player check the date to confirm reinstall of the correct one " why did you say that who would have two separate cd players? I didn't know this was a replace respilice and reinstall video though this was take out rewire the new connector and put back... also there was mention if you have a late 02 or earlier 03 you have what options are available in the case because I have a 03 525i with dsp and business cd would rather have Bluetooth but I guess aux works if cant finda Bluetooth intergrtion
I agree Tarik, especially the dead pixels all the time. Once they're fixed and have an aux kit installed not bad however. Better than ugly aftermarket radios * shivers *
We know the struggle, I had issues with my radio amplifier in the trunk (because I have the navigation screen). the shop where I painted my e39 while they wet sanded the car some water came into the amplifier .... after a month stopped working. It was Bm24. the used amplifiers are so hard to find and they are overpriced, but I plan to buy cd radio from X3 or Z4 and convert it as a amplifier :) P.S Great video !!!
Hi Zeitgeist I have a CD player with mfg date of March 2003. I believe I have done the install correctly. However the AUX option does not come on. Do you know as of what date the AUX option was added please ? My CD player is on 6512 6927 908 Thanks K
This is one of the finest diy videos i have ever watched. So clear. So efficient. No shaky cameras!!!!
Thanks a million for making this exceptional step by step video. You are pretty much the only one who made one for the factory BMW aux harness.
I thoroughly enjoy both the wonderful information being shared and that calm, southing voice.

Is a Bluetooth adapter also available for my E39 520i 1997? Please answers guys 🤝🏼

So if my model is from 06/02 I have to get a new CD player?
If I wanted to put a after market radio, what would you recommend for like radio and bracket.

Ok yeah but where can i get a new radio?
worked great, thanks for the tip on the late 2002 comment, saved a few bucks.
What if I have a 1998 BMW 528i and I don't have this CD player in the front?

I have a 2000 540i with cassette. Which of these two should I get? 82 11 0 149 389 or 82 11 0 149 390?
Rather this than the DAB adapter I had installed. It only transmits FM signals for the original radio to receive, so the interference is insane.
im little confused, doesn lower unit contain software that is responsible for aux mode?
i have 2001 may model JAPAN spec 530i with wide screen and people tell me i cant make AUX cable maybe u know more?

Just the aux kit that's appropriate for your car (probably the non-navigation version) unless you have a nav screen in your E39
