I think this is a pretty neat boss roster, and each boss seems to have a lot more detailed patterns than most of the old game bosses. I wish there were just a few more bosses, like Tiny Tiger.

I would have really liked if Tiny Tiger was included in this game. The pirate world seemed like a good point to include him and give some balance from the scientist/brainy bosses. Tiny Tiger has always been my favorite character and I would have really liked to see him or some of the other bosses (Papu Papu, Ripper roo, Pinstripe) as small encounters/minibosses.
These bosses are already better than anything I've seen in crash thus far. This game is the true crash 4. Even n brio is back again. This game is a better love letter than crash the n sane trilogy.

I feel like finally they went back to the right track and revived the series. They have made a game crash fans would like to see after warped. Twinsanity is decent I admit, that was childhood to me to a certain extent but notwithstanding its glitch, it just lost some great essence of 3 old crash games. Not being offensive, but if this game had replaced wrath of cortex as (the real) crash 4 or twinsanity as crash 5, the franchise and series would have sustained far longer and much more popularized in the PS2 era onwards. This time they have created the quintessence of the skill-intensive trait of Crash 1 + well designed puzzles & secrets of Crash 2 + the creative plot of Twinsanity. If only they knew to develop a game like this in 2001.
I agree with you. Crash was a big hit in the PS1 era, but for the PS2 era, it was Ratchet and Clank or maybe Jak and Daxter. Twinsanity was good but if it was remastered it will be better. I loved it when they add offbeat humor in the franchise and it fits really well. (And this is one of the reasons why the game did well.) but if it was made in PS2 it will be a huge success that will could even get a sequel ( I wonder what Uka Uka is up to...). The character design, I loved it even more! Crash was perfect, because this one shows more emotions and act like a goof (more than the one from Twinsanity were he has that stupid smile for no reasons and acts like an idiot). same for others ( but I miss the old Cortex design from Twinsanity and onwards.). The antagonists I loved it! The story, I liked it and the cgi were perfect. The gameplay, good as the 3 first games. In other words, this game is perfect, but I’m quite sad that the games like Twinsanity and Titans are no longer canon anymore... but at least, they still exist. I hope toys for Bob continues with Crash more so he can go back to his glory again. For now, let’s wait Spyro... I’ll wait for Rayman...

This is probably why it seemed like they didn't know how to make a game like this in 2001, it wasn't made by the same people, or at least people who cared. Activision then came in and Sony decided to sell Crash Bandicoot and Spyro to Activision, making Crash no longer the "PlayStation mascot". Activision was the one, with the help of Vicarious Visions, to make an attempt to revive a dead mascot. And like that, N-Sane Trilogy was made and Crash was seemingly reborn. They then made CTRNF. However then Vicarious left Crash, another team leaving Crash behind. But Activision didn't give up. Instead to make Crash Bandicoot 4, they looked to Toys for Bob, the creators of Spyro's Reignited Trilogy, to make Crash Bandicoot 4 (which is why the art style and models look different compared to the previous 2). Additionally, looking at how Coco responds with "3 times they beaten Cortex", this could mean that the other Crash games that weren't part of this tetralogy are non canon or from alternate timelines. *Yes I became a Crash nerd.*

The game looks great, however the bosses have me a bit disappointed. I'm not criticizing the battle phases, those are super cool, I'm criticizing the number of bosses. Only 6? Come on, even Twinsanity had 8 Bosses (9 if you count Mecha Bandicoot as a separate boss) despite being a game full of cuts. Among other things, not even a new boss (if we exclude Louise (who looks more like a mini boss) or the female version of N.Tropy). I wish I had seen Tiny, or Ripper Roo. The game is beautiful, it doesn't rain on this, but from me a big fan of bosses in video games, I expected more. I buy the game anyway because I repeat, it's beautiful.
@Starscream91 This is true, the fact remains that they could insert more boss battles, or at least insert new boss characters, as ND did. While the battles are nice, they haven't even tried to insert a new boss (that's as I wrote, I don't consider Louise a real boss, but a mini-boss at best). Apart from that, I consider the game to be a true masterpiece.

I assume it's like Crash 2 and 3, where you have to do something extra to unlock the full, complete ending. You probably have to do something to access the second Cortex fight; maybe collect all the gems or complete the flashback levels?
videogamenostalgia Actually, the second Cortex fight pops up in every play-through, so I assume it’s actually part of the normal story. I could be wrong though. Also keep in mind that it’s not just a boss fight that’s part of the package, but an entire world.

They Should Have Made Louise The First Boss
The game looks great, however the bosses have me a bit disappointed. I'm not criticizing the battle phases, those are super cool, I'm criticizing the number of bosses. Only 6? Come on, even Twinsanity had 8 Bosses (9 if you count Mecha Bandicoot as a separate boss) despite being a game full of cuts. Among other things, not even a new boss (if we exclude Louise (who looks more like a mini boss) or the female version of N.Tropy). I wish I had seen Tiny, or Ripper Roo. The game is beautiful, it doesn't rain on this, but from me a big fan of bosses in video games, I expected more. I buy the game anyway because I repeat, it's beautiful.

@Starscream91 This is true, the fact remains that they could insert more boss battles, or at least insert new boss characters, as ND did. While the battles are nice, they haven't even tried to insert a new boss (that's as I wrote, I don't consider Louise a real boss, but a mini-boss at best). Apart from that, I consider the game to be a true masterpiece.
Bosses never were the highlight of Crash games. It was always the platforming, that was the highlight. So no big deal if you ask me.

Only because I really love boss battles in video games in general (especially in platforms or Action RPG games). Apart from that (which I don't consider a flaw at all anyway) I think the game is perfect.
@Starscream91 I consider it perfect because it actually is. The Boss thing is personal nonsense. The game has no gameplay or story flaws. I just like beating bosses in video games. It is not fair to consider it a defect for the simple fact that it is not.

Most likely the hardest crash game out of them all. It would not be a crash game without that hardness though, i am loving the game.
Can we even call N. Tropy the final boss at all? Like, does the second Cortex fight require you to do something before actually accessing it?
I assume it's like Crash 2 and 3, where you have to do something extra to unlock the full, complete ending. You probably have to do something to access the second Cortex fight; maybe collect all the gems or complete the flashback levels?
videogamenostalgia Actually, the second Cortex fight pops up in every play-through, so I assume it’s actually part of the normal story. I could be wrong though. Also keep in mind that it’s not just a boss fight that’s part of the package, but an entire world.
