Local language must be learnt. Im also a North Indian and knows very well that our North Indian people are hesitant to speak local languages be it maharastra gujrat or any other non Hindi state. First they should respect the local language and then only local people will accept them
It doesn't work like this, not everyone is capable of learning a new langugage.

Iam from mangalore but I live in mumbai here I speak marathi because languages are very important to love the people of other states so we try to learn languages.
I Appreciate you man . Whenever I will get chance I will surely learn kannada 🎉
Great journalism. We love you from karnataka sir
Hindi is our rashtrabhasha is my foot 🎉 India has no official language every state/UT has their own Languages and their pride on it and i support strongly ❤️
India has no national language 😂😂😂
But Hindi comes on 3rd point in the world
First we are all Indians so respect all languages plz✌️🙏☺️💝
As a Hindi native speaker, we cannot force someone in Karnataka to speak in Hindi , rather then Kannadiga !! Hindi is not a national language .... Kanadigga and Tamil are both as beautiful as Hindi, rather people going to these states should learn a bit Kannadiga and Tamil !!! Tell me one thing - when you go to France , US , Japan - can you force them to speak in Hindi or do you force them ? Then why such doouble standards with our own Tamil and Kannadiga people ?
South india is part of india. That is why... France,Spain are not part of India...
Worst part is parents make their kids learn French and German but not another Indian language :)

Why do we use English in every field of India? *(Why do we need English)*
1) India is a *"multilingual"* country & we have a different language family's *(Indo-european, Dravidian, indo-iranian sino-tibetan, Tibeto-burman, Semitic, astro-asiatic Etc..)* & India has no _-national language-_ or any _-monolingual policy-_ the country of India is a *"union system'* and "all languages are respected equally"
2) Only English is recognized and used as the *"2nd administrative language"* in all states of India. (After their state's official language)
3) English is the only language used in all fields of India *(science, technology, research, education, medical, business, job field, information, space field, Navy, etc..)*
4) India is mostly dependent on *"foreign income"* & So we need English in the field of 'business' and 'workplace'
5) English is emerging as the future *"lingua franca"* of India and the World
6) English is *"indispensable"* and giving more value to "English" after our "State office language" is also good for our financial empowerment.
7) Yes there is a language problem in India! So English has grown and is growing as a language to solve that problem, This is the reality! It is better to accept reality. And at the same time all the languages of India should be respected equally

Appreciating lallantop! For calmly answering the hindi extremists. As a North Indian living here in South india. I love South indian music, food and I want to learn kannada thoroughly. If I lived in a foreign country I would learn the language over there. I do not believe in imposing any language whether it be hindi or any South indian language. I agree with you, Saurabh Dwivedi Ji. People living in the state should adopt to the local language and culture. Persons of other states want the locals (auto drivers etc) to communicate in Hindi or English. Instead, but they should learn the basics of local language.
If this is prevailed and given support then In India itself we hv to learn 29diff languages Sir. Development leans on communication. When celebrities if I focus on specially South India who recently even went to collect the Oscar should hv used local language to address and communicate the audience but it didn't happen bcoz its impractical, English is the only way there. So ofcourse learning some basics of local language is good. But if people start forcing to do so then so-called intelligence, education and maturity is null and void
It is simply need based.. if you want to live here learn local language and if I want to live in your state will learn your language..
But what about traveling people why force them to learn language and abuse them in middle of road
Just on 20th may I had a bike accident near Goa border in Karnataka, just because my bike passing number is Maharashtra and I start talking in Hindi no one comes to help me. After 15 minutes 1 can come from Goa side they help me
