3 5/8”? You would need to improvise by trimming the corner clips, which is probably not recommended. Usually small ducts don’t require ductmate. Great question Wayne👍
I agree with you that on a bench is way easier. But, Ductmate Installation on a job site on top of a step ladder is all in a days work for a Sheet Metal worker.
Is there any advantage of ductmate compared to standing S lock, if I fabricate standing S lock with the sealant inside the grooves to prevent air leakage.
Great question! Often used when a job is engineered and specked to prevent air leakage. Due to energy cost and efficiency, Air leakage testing is mostly done on commercial jobs.

Yes Yacoub it does require some mastic or some other gasket material. 👍

Most of the time companies will go with either applying duct sealer or patented duct connecters based on cost/time 💲💲💲.
