i remember learning about this back in the day, theres something really interesting that happens with form shadows compared to cast shadows though. The opposite actualy happnes for some reason with form shadows, the closer/stronger the light source the harder the edge on the form shadow, i remembering learning about this from a toy photography channel, will link it if i can find it.

Shadow Color will be the color of whatever feels good to you, usually just making flats layer, then picking the color and shift hue and make it move a bit to right and down works 99% of the time xd
The more I know about shading the more it confuses me. 😵💫 It's just like a lottery for me. Sometimes I hit the jackpot and the rest of the time I'm just guessing and hope it's turns out well. 😅

I do a soft cell shading myself, I think it looks really pretty :3

So harder when closer to the light source and softer when it’s further away from the light source, do I have this correct?
Yep, that’s correct! It’s because the further the distance the light travels, the more time it has to diffuse and soften before reaching the object.
