Thank you for this tutorial! I would have been lost trying to change out my battery!
Good video bro!!
Funny story, as i was taking mine apart the gold fingerprint thing broke, is my phone okay?
I just want to puncture holes into the plastic backing so my phone can stop overheating
Did this and ended up with a giant ass purple mark on my screen
How can I take my front camera on the Samsung and create a small mini security camera
Is this simula to A17 5g?
gracias
Hi I was wondering if there are any other A phones that I could use parts for my A14 it's stopped charging
Hi, I don't think so or know of any other ones compatible with it. You can get replacement parts from this website for the A14 and A14 5G: www.mobilesentrix.com/replacement-parts/samsung/galaxy-a-series/a14-5g-a146-2023
What makes this a 14 to shut off? And not come back on has no response to charging or anything.
Maybe a bad battery or water damage.
@PBKreview After i replace my screen. Now its give me flashinh warning a custom os. And i can press any button. Can you please give me advise? Thanks
Not sure, have you checked if any of the buttons are being pressed down or against causing it to boot in bootloader or recovery mode? Try taking it apart and re assembling again.
Why it's so hard to remove the cover at the top of the screen?
The back cover? sometimes just has more clamps/catches in that smaller area.
@@PBKreviews it's okay now. Thanks. My phone got water inside its lcd, now it blacked up. Its buried in rice right now
My sim tray has broken after my phone dropped. Bought a new one but it won't fit in is there a way of remove the tray completely inside? What is it actually linked to? Many thanks.
did you fix this? i have a phone with the same issue and it gets jammed inside as the mechanism is broken
@tsu177 I actually pushed the new one in (I wouldn't suggest to do that though). I put a phone case over as it sticks out
@tsu177 but it still reads the chip
@djhonz45 I found on the back of the board there is the slot the tray slides into, and there's a little pin that gets pushed to eject it. I pulled that back out and it works fine now, I'm not sure how it got stuck
Plus is this 40 pin or 48 pin?
not sure what you mean by the pins.
nice
👍
Why would anyone do this??????
A lot of people take their phones apart to replace parts themselves.
Yaw this phone breaks really really easily.
I love your videos alot can you do a processor view on the a14 5g
Thanks. You can see it @6:10 in the video
I wanna upgrade the motherboard
it's not like a computer that you can change the motherboard or processor. they aren't user replaceable.
Can we think of something I want a better phone without buying a new one
I figured something out and yeah your right@@PBKreviews
Slow down can’t follow you
Bludarinjo u can slow down the video or pause it
i agree with the battery tab, i also hope this is a thing going into the future and would love to see in the s23 series and so forth
👍
we gonna have a removable battery soon , so what's the point?
❤❤@@PBKreviews
Cue supplies
Cue sipplies
i really hate the fact that Samsung keep putting the lcd ribbon on top of the battery instead of below like any sane company would
if your battery started getting bloated (which definitely prone to happen for Samsung)you better change it fast because the stress the battery will put on the ribbon can easily damage it and not to mention the fact that the LCD and the main ribbon is tie together which is such stupid design for consumers
nobodys gonna talk about how samsung made this look like the up coming 23 series
Cricket already offers the A23 in their lineup
Hey nice vid. I was wondering if you could take off the display and post a picture of how the inside looks from the front, I want to use it as my wallpaper
IMPOSSIBLE, I THOUGHT SAMSUNG WOULD NEVER LET PEOPLE REMOVE THEIR BATTERIES EASILY.
Lol yep, I guess times have changed.
The graphite patch on the lower side of the back is not for heat transfer, but to shield the spurious EM from the loudspeaker magnet and coil.
I wouldn't reuse that battery pouch since the adhesive has weakened and it's crumpled. I'd just run two strips of strong screen double sided tape under the replacement battery. Just my 2cents.
Are you sure? Graphite film is used for heat transfer. I haven't herd of it being used for purposes like that before. I've also seen them use thermal pads or paste at times under the speakers to transfer heat so I doubt they are using thermal paste for shielding. As for the adhesive pouch, If it's not going to hold it well, then yup good idea to change it but with these samsung ones, the adhesive they use is so strong that it's re usable regardless of it being crumpled. But yup you can always use new adhesive to re apply it. :)
@@PBKreviews - While indeed graphite conducts heat well, there's not much heat generated by the small loud speaker at the bottom. Therefore by deduction it's some sort of EM/RF shield. I could be wrong, hope someone else can chime in on this.
I believe easier batteryreplacements are because of EU regulations about repairability and longevity, iirc it applies to phones released starting in 2023.
True, I'm sure that is a big reason they moved into this direction.
dropped new phone off table the power on button went in too far will turn but now i can fix it
1st thought wtf the phone is sealed Nope RUclips help sorts your problems out cheers pbk
👍
2:54 Can you spot the Elephant? :)
PBKreviews You make it sound so easy. What I see is a headache. But I better get used to it. Besides NOT being able to be replaced - Batteries that CAN be replaced make you do the things you just did on this video.
It's not too difficult for this phone. This would be one of the more simple teardowns compared to some other phones. :)
Went to the movies and phone slipped into the cracks of an electric recliner chair. I tried to get it out having to recline a bit but broke the screen on the bottom left. It made the turn on noise but nothing after that, can you tell me if it's salvageable? Screen broke in the bottom left and I can see the circuitry. I dunno if screen replacement is enough or get a new one and place the memory in that one if that's a thing. First time I've broken my screen this bad. Please let me know if you don't mind helping and thanks if possible.
It depends. What model phone do you have, and how expensive is the screen? If it's affordable, you could try DIY screen replacement and try to turn it on. My phone's screen died randomely, and I had the same issue you had, but 24usd later i had a new screen, and a working phone.
Sitting here cursing my new phone (galaxy a14) and missing my old phone. Ask me why I hate non-stop - don't blink because it changes every day - technology. Anyway, thank you very much. This was really helpful.
:) You're welcome.
3:02 finally! a pull tab
One of the worst designs. What will happen if my sub board connector get broken or corroded? I need to replace the whole screen. Totally meaningless & opposite direction to right to repair 😒
Again Mediatek supplied by samsung instead of Exynos or Qualcomm is a wrong move.
Only pros is pull tabs on battery 😂
Yeah, I don't like it when they use the same flex cable for the screen and sub board together. Something goes wrong with the flex cable and your out of luck.
At 3:59, is it possible to replace the phone speaker? I have been having trouble with my phone not having sound lately and I've been resorting to my earbuds to be able to hear anything. Everytime I try to play something, not a single sound comes out of the phone, so I want to know if it is possible to replace it
Edit: I ran a diagnostic and I can faintly hear the sound coming from the speaker but its not loud enough
Yes you can replace it. Here is a website with replacement parts. But also note, it might not be your speaker, but the speaker filter being clogged with debris or oils etc. www.mobilesentrix.com/replacement-parts/samsung/galaxy-a-series/a14-5g-a146-2023
I have an opinion on the reusability of the adhesive pouch. They are strong and they can surely be reused, but are they really designed to be reused? You reuse the pouch with no functional problem, but the pouch is slightly wrapped nonetheless.
Say, a few years later, the battery wears out and you pay Samsung to replace the battery of this phone (or if any future phones that come with this type of adhesive), I bet Samsung will replace the adhesive pouch together.
Correct, if Samsung were to replace the battery, I'm sure they would replace the pouch as well just to make sure its ready for the next user replacement. But in most cases these pouches are made so you can pry off the battery without having to remove the pouch as well, or else they would just use adhesive pull tabs which can't be reused. Also when it warps a bit, it doesn't really hinder the ability for it to function as it should or cause any problems etc.
adhesive pouch should be replaced, not very expensive to put a new adhesive pouch
@@koreyb - Not everyone can afford to drop $200 bucks every few years, especially in developing and third world countries.... just saying.
@@bhaskarsamani1507 - Agree, I wouldn't reuse that battery pouch since the adhesive has weakened and it's crumpled. I'd just run two strips of strong screen double sided tape under the replacement battery.
Dropped it once with a case on whole phone assembly came undone because it didn't come with catches, rip 200$ from walmart.
Or screws, wow.
⚠⚠⚠ QUESTION PLEASE ⚠⚠⚠ - Samsung A14 5g Battery. What percentage charge range is best for this battery? Lowest % charge = ? Highest % charge = ? To extend battery life. Some say charging to 100% or going below 50& charge may shorten battery life. Just subscribed! Thanks. 👍😁
Hi, not sure honestly, there are many opinions on how it should be charged, but many different batteries and how they handle as well. Me personally I usually charge it around 80% most of the time, and once a week I will charge it 100%. Thanks for the support!
@@PBKreviews Thank you very much appreciate your help! 😁👍👍👍
Já tens em mãos o s23 😲
Lol not just yet. Soon.
hello could u help me? so my power button didnt response, it kinda stuck when i click it should work like turn on / turn off the screen but it didn't. the fingerprint it self is alright, and the volume button + & - it's alright too. thanks !
do you have a phone case? if you do, it might be messing with the response of the power button since it takes more pressure to push it down
1:40 The plastic is not an excellent conductor of heat, I wonder if that tape helps at all.
The graphite film helps transfer heat, but yeah its only on such a small portion of the bottom. It is a budget friendly device, or else I'm sure there would have been more graphite film.
@@PBKreviews that does not transfer heat. Its a noise dampener.
Wow, this model doesn't even need to heat the lever, just with a plastic strip you can open it all the way! How vulnerable, right?
All I wanted to know is how to change the battery. Lol. Very good video though. Thank you for this video.
No problem 👍
woohoo galaxy S23 early 👏👏👏 /jk
😄👍
Okay, uhm sometimes the backing literally starts coming Off and when i take Off my case i could take it Off with my hands but i can put it back with a click (only from the bottom)
To remove the battery, peel and fold the transparent labels from the battery and simply pull the blue label.

I will get a new one and I will literally bash, burn, smash, and snap this fucking thing. It's caused so many problems
Hi,
My sg a14 was smashed 😔
I was hoping to get back all the data from it.
I was thinking to buy the same one and just swap the motherboard.
Do you think that this could work?
I would really appreciate if you could aswer me please .
Yeah, as long as the main board is not damaged and works, it can be placed in another screen assembly.
They are making it harder and harder for any average joe to pull a battery. Screw this phone.
Very good 🙂🙂

Will try to do it soon
Ive only got a pin not that blue tool.
My volume button is loose should i need to change the screen by going to authorized service center
can u fix my cuz phone please
M14 5G TEARDOWN PLS
yo my graphite thingy is black instead of the silver yours has is that normal?
Seriously, fuck phone companies. I am looking to replace my Galaxy Note 3 after 11 years because many apps are not supported anymore, and there are no phones with replaceable batteries anymore. I don't give a shit about my phone being waterproof, I have never in my life drop a phone on water. I just want to be able to replace the battery easily to extend the phone life in case I need it without having to jeopardize the phone integrity.
look into the galaxy xcover pro or xcover 6 pro, has replaceable battery.
Hello, do you know where the antenna sits in this phone? I can't tell by the video 🙂
My phone's ear speaker (not the bottom speaker) no longer works at all as far as I can tell. Tried all the usual software fixes and even cleaning with a toothbrush and isopropyl from outside the case. Is there any way I can replace that?
It should be replaceable
Does you phone still work on headphone mode
M14 light not wark
my bottom.camera is fake
I had this phone for a month and it already gave out. The back of the phone on top was very hot almost as if it was on the stove. After the battery died now it won't turn off... I'm thinking a faulty battery? let me know if anyone had the same experiance.
Could be water damage as well
Its been a week since why phone fell in water and it turned on once and never turned on again. Do you think theres any hope of recovery m I did the bad mistake of charging it.
It won't hurt to try. Take it apart, disconnect the battery cable, dry out any liquid inside, use a small brush like a tooth brush to brush off any corrosion on connectors or chips, and re assemble to see if you can get it working again. If not you would have to try replacing parts one by one to rule out what is not working, like the battery, charger port/sub board, or the screen etc. If no luck, then the board probably has damage or a short etc.
can any parts from the s23 be transferred to the a14?
Please Disassemble Galaxy F14 5g
I will look into it
Now days samsung copy to the Chinese technology
Where can I get you because my a14 is broken
please can you post a picture or video of a detailed view of all the flex cables in the rear case i believe i have a broken connection on my phone but i cant find any images or schematics to check mine against.
Hi, I don't have the phone anymore to do so. Sorry.
الله
I have this an im having problem with my volume up button. Its not adjusting the the volume up the down works though
Its possible the clicker on the flex cable for the vol up has gone back and would require you to change that flex cable. Here is a link for one: amzn.to/3r25VLl
Can u fix it
But if i did the blue one is broken what i do 😢
Not 5g
thanks bro just fixed mine!!!
You're welcome!
Nice teardown
Thank you :)
Is this the one I would need with the frame. 5G A146U/U1 With Frame
This unit in this video was the A146U
2:08 my phone's pin connecting the screen ribbon is damaged, some displaced. Do I neet to change the pin part or can I just move them in right place?
If its the connector on the board that is damaged, then would require to replace the board or phone since finding the connector part and someone to be able to replace it would be costly. If its on the screen flex cable, you can replace the screen. Usually bending pins back in place wont fix it.
@@PBKreviews thanks for replying! I got damaged parts replaced at my local repair shop. My phone is working fine now.
so where is the 5g chip in phone
Samsung hardware quality ekadam chip
Does it have a cover cos I learnt it's so slippery?
Please help! I tried to take my phone case off but it also took a bit of the backglass off it it won't go back on fully because I think something inside is stuck and the volume buttons no longer work but everything else does
No not back glass just the back bit
It's possible the physical buttons on the back housing came out of place and are being jammed. You would need to use a plastic pry tool as shown in the video to run it along the edges of the back housing and remove the back housing (be careful since the fingerprint reader cable is still attached tot he main board, so don't tear it. Then you would have to re seat the buttons in the back housing properly and then put it back on the frame and push it together so it clips in all around again.
@PBKreviews Thanks This helped me :) and u were right the volume button was jammed but I fixed ty
Thanks for the video 😊
Amazing work 👽🔋
Thanks! :)

Can't camera lense be replaced without opening the back
Yes, as mentioned in the video, you don't need to take apart the phone to replace the glass camera lens covers.
What is the tool call
which tool? the pry pick? I have links in the description for tool sets.
how can change screen
how can get another screen
my phone A14 screen broken
You would need buy a replacement online like on ebay. Just search Galaxy A14 LCD and you will see listings.
Does it need glue
nope
Good..

Quick question. I noticed my a14's audio is getting scratchy and sometimes doesn't play audio at all (as of right now it's 2 days old, fresh out of the box) the solution ive found to fix it is to like, blow into the audio port or vacuum the air out if that makes sense (basically sucking and blowing air through the audio jack and charger port). Is there a way to fix this?
Do you work around metal or places where there are metal shavings etc, since the magnet of the speakers can attract them to the speaker filter of the phone and cause it to sound distorted etc. Aside from that, the only other thing I can think of is water damage. You would be able to open it up and clean it out or replace the speaker etc. But if its new and has warranty, you can warranty it out.
@PBKreviews No I don't work anywhere like that where metal shavings are an issue nor do I see or detect any water damage. It came straight from the Samsung Store in Kuwait but if anything, I'll try and figure out a solution. I do appreciate your input 🙏🏼
U are new kid! Every budget ScamSung phone have low sounding speakers
@technotrack5959 wrong buddy boyo. Turns out it was a true factory defect 🤷♂️
I'm still using a galaxy j5 prime, they're like muscle cars, built to last you a life time but they get battery problems like any other normal car/phone (in my case I had mine for 8 years)
👍
Nothing wrong with that, as long as it works for what YOU need it for, that's all the matters. I work at a phone repair shop, and I'm often shaking my head seeing young kids breaking $1,000 phones, then complaining when a high end screen costs $400+ to replace.
I've been using a Samsung S7 up until recently even though I could afford much better, and the only reason I switched to an S10e is because the S7's Android version 8 wouldn't allow some newer apps to run. lol

LCD?

Do you have to have a heat gun for this repair? And what if any adhesive is needed?
If you don't have a heat gun, you can improvise like i do.
I use a cheap 1875 Watt hair dryer with half the air intake covered with tape.
*Set on HIGH FAN & HOTTEST SETTING.
I have no problems with doing anything that calls for a heat gun.
The average heat gun is only an 1000 watt heating element with a really slow fan. So my improvised version is actually a little bit better than most of the retail ones.
*if your hair dryer gets too hot and turns the element off, just remove some of the tape to allow more airflow and vise versa if it's not getting hot enough.
