Northwest School of the Arts is part of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Magnet School program and serves 6-12 graders. All students must reside in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School Zone, and must first pass an audition in order to be eligible to participate in the CMS School Options Lottery. Information on the website pertains to auditions for the 2023-24 school year. Passing an audition during the lottery period provides the best chance to be placed at our school. Please be sure to pay attention to the dates and deadlines section. We provide transportation to all of Mecklenburg County!
Our school provides instruction in 10 different arts areas, or “Majors.” They are: Band, Orchestra, Piano, Chorus, Dance, Musical Theatre, Theatre, Costume Design (high school only,) Technical Theatre (high school only,) and Visual Arts.
