    Great video Mark. I am mulling over a printer, bizarrely, right now, and I found this really informative. I normally watch your channel for the smart home stuff, but enjoyed this one!

    Thanks for the video. Don’t get encouraged if the video doesn’t get much views at this point. It will take effort and time before plastic people will find your channel. I enjoyed it! Thanks!

    I just picked up this printer and so far i love it. It was super easy to setup and i was printing a benchy within an hour of getting it in the box. (including assembly time) So far the default settings have been perfect. Im printing at the fastest speed of 500mm/sec and my prints are perfect! Took 10-12 mins to print a benchy test. So far i have already printing a controller stand that holds 2 xbox controllers (1.5 hours) and a headphone bracket that clamps to my desk to hang my headphones. (1 hour, 2 parts)
    The app is a nice feature. Before i bought it i thought not having a screen on the printer would be an issue but it hasn't been a problem. The app can easily get tons of models from online and you can start printing them right away. Its also nice that i can send the prints through the app via bluetooth or wifi so i don't have to physically walk over to the printer to start up a print. I can just fire something off from the other room and go grab it when its finished.

      So strange. I got my M5C for xmas. My benchy took 35 min to print ( i was in fast mode)
      It came out perfectly, but I wonder why it was twice as long as both of yours.

    This printer is AMAZING!!! But I'd love to have an Ankermake 12 inch (310 mm) square bed. If it is available, I'll be first in line for it! I am a reel-to-reel recorder enthusiast, so my aim is to create 10 1/2" reels!

    That fan noise is the classic sound of a cheap fan bearing failure. Mine does the same until the bearing warms up - or at least that’s what I assume is happening due to the poor bearing friction. A good quality fluid or magnetic bearing fan will get rid of the sound.

      @@Krispy367 people like Noctua fans for their silence. I don’t have any so can’t comment on how accurate that is.

      @roberttco1 yeah I know noctua have great silent fans but is it possible to open up the nozzle enclosure and connect it straight away? If you will try a solution can you update me please I would really appreciate it

    • @whitecanegamer
      @whitecanegamer 6 месяцев назад +6

      I own an M5C and that noise is definitely not normal, at least compared to the one I have. I'd tend to agree with the faulty bearing theory.
      Update: Mine has started making this noise too, until it warms up. Ankermake support aren't being overly helpful about it either. I'll put up with it until the fan fails, then I'll replace it with something better.

    yes it's the Pom Wheels working into the v-channels, it will do that for a little while, but will get less and less dust, the more you use it..

  • @Uhleekuh80
    @Uhleekuh80 Год назад +5

    Hi! Great video! I'm just digging for M5C content because I am looking to get one for the holidays. Thanks for the content.
    As far as the dust from the wheels, that is normal. The wheels are just wearing in. You just have to adjust the pressure on them by turning the nut. There are videos showing how to adjust them on other printers, but the same method applies to the M5C. Again, I don't have a printer. I just know this from all the damn reading I've been doing...haha.
    Thanks again for the video!

    Thanks for this Mark. If I literally just want an entry into 3d printing for some ESP cases and maybe a little fun with the kids (9 and 7) is there a printer or brand that you'd recommend? Was thinking I might try and pick something up second hand, but perhaps I'm better off getting a budget newer gen based on your comments?

    • @MarkWattTech
      @MarkWattTech  Год назад +2

      Hey Simon. Personally I think this printer would tick all the boxes for what you are looking for. Its a simple plug and play and you will be printing in minutes. I would definitely wait for a sale though if you are thinking of this printer. I picked up an additional unit recently on sale and also got a choice of filaments with it.
      As this is a newer higher end budget printer it has lots of great features that will save you a lot of headaches you will get if you just opt for a £150 printer.
      Next year AnkerMake are releasing the V6 Colour engine which is an addon for this printer that will give full multicolour printing capability so could also be a great upgrade.

    Thread is stuck
    Thanks Mark for this great video. Are you familiar with the problem of not being able to feed the PLA to the printer? I can push in (and pull out) the PLA in the PTFE. But all of a sudden I can't push it in far enough for the printer to feed it. I suspect that there are remnants of broken material in the extruder.
    How can I remove them?

    Hey man, recently was sent one myself and that horrible sound on start up has started happening to me. Apparently I've read it's the fan in the base! They do sell replacement fans on their site though.

    Hi, I wanted to ask if there is a usb port to use a thumb drive? Or are you able to upload your own designs to print?
    Also I really appreciate this being a genuine review. All the other ones are obviously sponsored with people saying only good things about the printer and testing it out for a couple days. This is a 5 month review talking about the pros *and* the cons and that’s very valuable

    • @MarkWattTech
      @MarkWattTech  Год назад +1

      Heya. Thanks for the feedback.
      There is a USB C port on the side that will allow you to store and print files from a USB C thumb drive. You can also send files from your phone and PC.
