The BES881 as well as the breville Oraclejet uses the new thermo jet technology which sends the water through a hot coil to heat the water instantly Making the expensive big boilers in the BES990 unnecessary. This is the main difference. Then theres the automatic taping through the touchscreen while the other one has a convenient manual automatic tamping lever on the side. There’s really no good reason to get the expensive BES990 Now with the new thermal jet technology which is cheaper and easier for them to produce. Unless if you’re gonna be making coffees all day.
Hi, what is your settings? Just got mine and it’s really strong and sour, I’ve tried different beans but still the same outcome. I’ve also tried changing the grams per dose and pour time which did help but if you have any tips and tricks it would really be helpful!
