I was born and raised in Rochdale and had no idea this was happening on our doorstep. When you consider how much water is held in those peat moors the amount shown in the waterfall must be tremendous. Almost makes you want to take a walk up there on a rainy day.
Yes, l am always amazed at the number of waterfalls on the hillside above Cray in Wharfedale. Given the height they are at.. where the heck does all that water come from, even after a period of no rainfall.?
hey daz, its great to get another perspective of how the water flows during flood. i done the same last Monday @ tyndrum and I never expected what I saw. some raw power right there mate. remember and give me a shout next time your coming up here 👍
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures well buddy I got a sense that mother nature is beautiful but can also be ruthless. i figured if I want to understand the hobby I needed to look at it in flood. the area I'm prospecting just now was very much the same high chocolate brown water, fast powerful current flowing and I even seen a good bit of banking getting washed from the far bank. I've even had a trip where I've been working the sluice and just finished some buckets, go to get more material and when I come back my sluice has water nearly flowing clean over it. shows you the beauty and power of our great landscapes and how much they can change quickly also not to F@#K with mother nature. always stay safe. if it looks stupid, it probably is lol
@@garrycunningham1445 Cheers Gary. I have been amazed after looking at how high river levels have been following big rain events and can't believe how debris can end up 40ft up in the trees above the waterline. Some good prospecting detective work too there by reading the angry water first. When I was in Tyndrum the boulder field near the railway bridge looked like a spot that must get chaotic in flood. Thanks for the reply buddy.
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures definitely mate, the burns and rivers have a good and bad side. good to get a look at what I'm working with in all aspects. sure does and the size of the boulders are mega and to think of them breaking free and rolling down that hill is another thought. I've now took up the sniping side of the hobby and your videos with many more have me hungry to find it under the water. still learning but that's what it's about having fun along the way. i will find my source one day buddy 😊
That's a bit too much 🤔 I mean , i like water very much😅, Only not so much when it's trying too put an end to me👎👎😁. Really hope the rain passes away soon and that nobody get's hurt. Stay safe my friend ✌
Hi Varmland, it's not every day this stream starts to flow like this but I wanted to show the flood defence team where the water surges from. I will be at the secret river this week hopefully, do will make another video soon.
I wanted to show this side of the local hills Brenda as it might help the flood defence management team for this area get a better picture of what is happening.
No sniping in that my friend , our rivers need a bit oh rain .can't remember the last time they were so low and full of nasty bugs. Hopefully the water will do some good and move the gold down stream ☠👍👍👍⛏💙
It's a lovely part of Lancashire. 24 hours or so ago and this place would have hardly had any water on the higher streams given the recent dry n' hot spell.
The jacket is light and packs away in a drinking bottle so it's out of sight or stuffs well in your back pockets. It's cheaper than named brands and does the job.
I have tried this stream lower down but the geology isn't on my side this part of the Pennines. It's all grit stone which is a relatively young rock group. The only other possibility could be from glacial movement.
I know where local areas can show the impact of heavy rainfall and this isn't the first time it's done this. I don't know how things went on in the village over night yet.

Hello Phillip, It's amazing how quickly a small stream can become a raging torrent from these local hills in this area

Tell me more about Tyndrum. When I visited there earlier in the year I got a real sense of what could happen there when it gets angry.

Blinking heck !
That looks scary, the whole lot of it.

Are they that low PD ? You spoke about the bugs last year too. Hope you've got some earplugs pal.
Excelente vídeo muito top gostei parabéns
Thankyou
Remember it well . We looked into buying Barrett's farm once up there. Would have loved it

When that gully dries up get up there with the highbanker.👍😁
There's no candy here Rasta. I would be surprised if there was any . There will be a layer of glacial till though.
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures ok.still worth a look.
@@rastamanralph6670 Good point Rasta. I'm off to Wales now for a few days so will check out some rivers there.
Insane mate stay safe there will be plenty of fresh gold deposits in your rivers on the plus
I don't think there is any of the good stuff here (I've tried) but yes staying safe is a priority.
What's the verdict on your btwin waterproof jacket . I've been looking at these recently. Keep the films 🎥 coming 👍👍

@Andy Morley they got a best bike award a couple of years ago. Ultrgra groupset and Mavic wheels for about 1500 queen quids.
No sniping in that daz think it would be abit merky in there lol. It's mad how the water makes routes like that shows the power of it.
The water had some force tonight for sure. One slip in there and that would be it.
That's it pal keep clear of it. Atleast the gold will be settling in some nice places for you at your secret river👍👍 keep the vids going
A hydroelectric plant looks like a better choice than bunging houses in there 🤔
On this day you're probably right.
Thought you’d have been in there panning for gold 😉👍

Did you manage to keep above water Daz !
I am not sure how things went on over night . Even higher up places can flood locally when footpaths become rivers as the water runs off the hills.
That is crazy. Be careful.

The rain in Spain falls mainly from the plane ?
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures Yes. The information is out there...Won't mention it again...Good vids by the way 🚲🚲🚲 🌞.
That's crazy whallllllllll
It was amazing to see . I just hope people's property and businesses were ok through the night.
I kinda like the history vids
Thanks for watching
MrDazp1 no problem I am thankful that you make the fun and interesting vids
