Emergency Shower/Eyewash Station Test & Demonstration

- Опубликовано: 20 янв 2023
- Here's the monthly test of the emergency shower and eyewash station at my workplace. As you can see there definitely needs to be more pressure added to the eyewash component. Attached to the station is a Federal Signal model 350 vibratone horn and an amber strobe beacon to signal when it's in use. Stations such as these are usually mandated and regulated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Thank you for watching!

The federal signal horn should be put somewhere else because the very loud sound from the horn can hurt your ears and you could slip and fall when you get jumpsacred when you turn on the shower when the very loud horn sounds very close to you
Believe me, the newer electronic horns are a’lot louder, my middle school which was built in 1960 had mostly simplex 4903-9219 and 4903-9217 electromechanical horn strobes they aren’t as loud as the newer electronic horns they have simplex truealerts in the language learning section of that middle school and they all do continuous
Nah it’s fine
@@MatthewKelley1206 Oh dear God lol
They shouldn't even place horn strobe fire alarms in classrooms especially spectralert advances which whatever company installs them does exactly that there a heart attack waiting to happen and there so loud it's unnecessary the hallway is enough. They should put just remote strobe in the classrooms but not a horn strobe. Even a chime strobe in the classrooms would be better leave the horn strobes for the hallways and large spaces like the gymnasium or auditorium only. Small spaces like classrooms should only be remote strobes or chime strobes. I hate our new building code.
@@MatthewKelley1206 you know there's a difference between an electromechanical horn and a vibratone horn. The horn in the video is a vibratione horn like a basketball score board buzzer and there so loud there much louder then the spectralert advances at my school. I always war headphones when watching a basketball game cause it scares the crap out of me it's unnecessary too loud for no reason.
I used to see these a lot back in High School and was always curious to see what it would do, now my life is complete.
The Federal Signal horn is pretty rare in fact it is pretty rare to see Federal Signal products/fire alarms
Mostly Federal Signal makes tornado sirens and emergency vehicles sirens
Our High school has the Safety shower alarm system as well. Every month I hear them go off there in the halls in the same area as well but there blue in the halls on the walls.
I love the combination of the horn and the orange light! It looks really neat in my opinion
it skips like a 7001t and 7002t
*vibratone trying to mimick the 7002t*
Since I've been working at a Toyota dealership as an express technician, I've seen eyewash/emergency shower stations like these (except ours don't have a horn/light attached to them) and I've always been curious what they look like in action. Pretty cool to see! I hope I never actually have to use one, though...
If it's not maintained the water comes out black... I just started at a facility that has one and just activated the eye wash to see what condition it is in... black... gross...
They have these in the lab at my school... it's cool to see how they work when turned on.
That’s really neat but the shower definitely needs more pressure. They r supposed to drench u in 10 seconds or less. Don’t look like this one would meet that standard
My high school had these stations in the science rooms on the 4th floor. They had green commander 3 horn/strobes next to each one, not sure what tone they do since I never seen anyone use the station before. I wasn’t sure what those horn/strobes were for at the time (I thought maybe for gas leaks) but now I realize they probably were for the eyewash stations. I do remember a piece of conduit leading to the station, so that pretty much confirms it.
That's a pretty cool contraption they have there! If I could, I probably would switch the horn over to a less louder speaker, but that horn is a vintage (if im correct) so that's pretty awesome to see that there.
nah federal signal still manufactures them. They are general alarms.
@@portlandrailfanproductions1155 oh. Nevermind then.
Neighbors must love you
That Vibratone 350 really wants to sound like a 7002T lol IMO 7004Ts need to sound like that
the next adt unimode 10ud test, can you put a red roof mount Spectro Alert Advanced on code 3, and a white one on continue. pull staition bg-12 L. don't care about the smokes and heats. the white horn strobe can be the supervisory.
Cool! Keep a good one s e r safety
I like how the horn kind of skips like a Wheelock 7000(T) series
Very cool federal signal horn and shower demo!! the horn should be put somewhere else tho
When you are going to do a system test do the MS-9200UDLS please I want you to do those tests more often because it is my favorite
Pretty simple and neat. But why is there a horn/strobe? And only the shower activates it? I would think it would be the opposite.
yes in my science class they have the eye washes
Cool!!!
the ones at our school don't have a drain, i always wondered how the water will go where
Nice that’s cool I like the I think simplex horn
No it’s a federal signal 350
@@CS8sirenwastaken yeah but simplex rebranded some in the 70s and 80s
@@electromaniac5573 you would be right but it looks a little too new to be a simplex on from the 70s
@@CS8sirenwastaken yes, what i am saying is that while that particular one is definitely federal signal, some similar models were rebranded my simplex a while ago.
These are in my science classroom at school
I have seen these in my Science classrooms
Cool!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ah yes I love trying to get corrosive chemicals out of my eyes while a federal signal model 350 vibratone is deafening me
lmao we have one of those in all of the science classrooms at my high school kids have pulled those for fun as a prank.
There was one i
Of these in my math class (it used to be a chemistry class) I've always wanted to pull it and hear the buzzer. Now I don't have to
No alarm for the eye wash? Maybe not required
Cool!
How come there's a horn for that?
This is such a nice demonstration I Am Trying To get some fire alarm systems but I have no money so im trying my best Is there anyway you could send me some systems you dont use anymore if not may I get a Test With The Gentex Commander 3 on Code 3 Horn/Strobe!
Is the alarm to discourage tampering? I don't see any other reason for an alarm to exist other than to prevent misuse of the emergency shower since many people don't usually like it when people "play" with an emergency shower-- They aren't toys!
Why does the horn have to sound when you pull it?
Is it available in the market
Any idea for suplier and how much it cost?
Are you still selling fire alarms online?
if my classroom had this..everybody would turn this on.
The new study found a 61 Alarm that’s very loud !
I saw one of those in my school
I've this at my school.
Here goes the Wheelock 7002T AC version! I call it the Wheelock 7002TAC!
I have that horn at my school
What’s the buzzer for?
I would be trying to worry about getting my eyes washed out but I also have to deal with my ears getting smashed
Like a mini shower
Nice to see a General Alarm Federal 350 Horn!
I could be a rebranded simplex horn
@@CS8sirenwastaken no simplex didnt brand 350s only the 4040s
Where is it at?
Wow guardian your eye wash pressure shigher on one side/ not gonna lie the water is so clear i wanna drink it/
I like how it skips like a 7002
wow
Why have the horn in the first place
you should probably place the horn a little farther from the shower because of how loud it is
Why do they need the horn?
I'm assuming it's probably to make other people go to the aid of the affected person immediately. I'm not sure though.
Why is an alarm for just a shower?
Nice video!
Why is there a federal signal vibratone horn that goes off when you use the shower
@@jaxrules2892 it is a chemical shower.
Why is there an alarm on the shower
I did not know you joined the military
why the horn?
Why does it have a siren when its a shower
What’s the shower ment for?
Just in case a potentially toxic chemical spills on someone.
@@IAmNotAFunguy ah I see
The horn sounds like A 7004T
This is what we have in the military base
What is this for
Federal signal 7002t at 0:18
I see these in science labs
No Fire Alarm Simplex Emergency
Hi
Why does there have to be an alarm
that left eye on the eyewach station needs repair
nope i'll let my eyes burn thank you *looks in fear to the powerfull stream*
The intrusive thoughts won huh?
Wy horn tho
0:16 0:31
I’m just wondering why
Emergency ?
At 0:32 imagine if a drinking fountain did this😂
I wish lol, drinking fountains everywhere have like no pressure
Sounds Like ####
jesus… so much to taking a shower in peace-
unfortunately I'd say it's not good enough for showering
These showers are for emergency use only like chemicals get on you, that's what these are for.
Cool!
