The Hungarian's refusing to fire on the Poles isn't the cause of the bromance, it's just another example of it.
It goes back centuries. Hungary and Poland have shared a king in the past, and continually had the back of each other, often when nobody else would help.
we often supported each other's uprisings... and dictators
Steve Evans I sure it’s cuz since there sandwiched in the middle of Russia’s Germany plus England and France were supposed to back them up then but in the past saw them more as a pawn. Just like other Slavic and Southern European countries.
So true. Actually, Hungarian units offered to fight (yes, fight!) on polish side in the Uprising, only if soviets later recognised this and gave them "allies" status. Which soviets, ofcours, refused. (sorry for any misspelling). Polak, Wegier, dwa bratanki,i do szabli, i do szklanki!
god dammit man its just a joke
".. often when nobody else would help"
So basically, most of the time of Poland existence?
To summarise: Allies are great, unless you're Poland.
Eastern Europe, and Poland in particular, did get a raw deal.
The problem stems from it not being a two sided war. Russia had their own agenda, and I think the allies were a bit caught between keeping the Russians on-side and actually trying to do the right thing.
I think Stalin was hugely underestimated.

Oweniee 21 I wouldn’t say short. Poland was an autonomous region in the Russian Empire since the partitions of poland. They had things happen in Poland, even if they were not a real country for that time. That is kinda like saying that Getmany has a shirt history, because they didn’t exist until the mid 1800’s, but thats not the case because the HRE and German Confederation, and Prussia,Bavaria, ect.

Thank you!
I've never seen the detail of the Polish planes dropping supplies, it's always so nice to get new details on a topic. Great job!
Thanks! I thought that was pretty interesting too!
on the night of August 3-4, allied planes - one halifax and three liberators - appeared for the first time over Warsaw with the Polish crews of the 1586th Special Squadron. It would not be surprising if it were not for the fact that this drop was the result of insubordination of Polish crews. Despite the intervention of the representatives of the Polish government with the British authorities, the action over the city was not approved by the deputy commander of the Mediterranean Allied Air Force (MAAF), marshal of aviation John
Slessor, who claimed that such flights are marked by a high risk (the route was 1,400 km long and led over the Adriatic, Yugoslavia and Hungary, where there was a strong anti-aircraft defense and base of night fighters), and in addition Warsaw is in the operational zone of the Red Army and it is Soviet aviation that should support the insurgents

its kinda hard to not demonize communists

@@Ake-TL I don't agree.
@@Ake-TL Both the communists and the nazis were evil, it just so happened that the communists were just fighting the same enemy as the west.
@@Ake-TL if you look on the numbers of killed then communist were much worse than nazis
Communist weren't rasistic i will give them that but they operated at basicali same principe as nazis (executions concentration camps etc.)
@ShardyTechTips there were allso non german nazis and colaborants so as it seems every nation have ist evil guys
3:35 Yes, indeed, it would be foolish from Soviet perspective, if they weren't liberators... Ah, but the essential question for Russians is, "were they liberators, as they claim, or just a third party to the conflict?" They claim to be liberators... who just a week ago have pompously celebrated the anniversary of liberating a dead ruin and were outraged Poland doesn't celebrate with them.
About the same time Paris revolted, and Allies, although it ruined their plans and they weren't fond of the French aspirations in general, dropped everything and rushed to help.
@Tom Fury Soviet radio was calling the Poles to rise up, that's first.
Second, so reestabilishing a free state fighting common enemy is somehow directed against the "liberator"? I thought that's the very definition of the word...
Third, even if I'm willing to accept that there were valid logistical reasons for halt of Red Army's advance: banning allied aircrafts from landing on soviet airports and destroying Polish resistance units from Eastern Poland heading to support Warsaw is nothing short of proof that Soviets put greater priority on subjugating Poland than on driving the Germans out of it. Such "liberators".
If the USA liberated France the same way Soviets did Poland, de Gaulle would die in Alcatraz for "collaboration with Nazis" and Paris would be a pile of rubble instead of world's cultural capital.

Poles: I HAVE SEVERAL QUESTIONS !
And here we go again? Crimes committed by soviet convicted to Russians and victories gained by them committed to the lend lease plan?
@@user-jv3mm6vt6e i don't understand what do you mean.
This joke is about Russia propaganda spreding lies that Russia dosen't attack any country in history.
In this context Soviet Russia with Russian troops.
@@user-jv3mm6vt6e Because it's true. Lend lease was signed within weeks of the former ally of the Soviets stabbing them in the back and the first convoy reached Murmansk well before the Germans got to Moscow. Stalin himself admitted that it was the surety of lend lease that allowed the Soviets to stop the Germans in the suburbs of Moscow. You can whine all day about the number of Soviet soldiers that died fighting the Germans, it's not the Allies' fault that the Soviets were lousy soldiers with lousy equipment lead by mostly lousy officers and commanded by a supreme leader that didn't care how may he killed. If it wasn't for American trucks delivering bread baked from American wheat powered by American gasoline, the Russians would have lost. I'm not sure that would have been a bad thing.
@@Mishn0 well on that idea every crime comited by soviets is because land lease, that means that lots of unnocent,non-german,civilians died by american arms. Well i like to see that US never changed it's horrible way,if they would only stop to lie.
@@Mishn0 you just right now called 12 millioon misled warriors "louse".
You know what it is to be louse?
To say a lie and think that this "lie" gives you a kind of "national superiority" and pride.
Pride you don't get for the things you didn't do.
If USSR did bad, remember that it was a conspiracy of westerners, led by germans and supported by french and british afterwards.
We are all equally grateful of those who fought against fascism that now is replenishing under the name of "holy lovely democratic world".
I mean I liked the video, but I'm not sure how happy I am with it being comedic. Both of my great grandparents were killed in world war II. One on the German front and the other was an officer who died in the Katyn massacre. My grandmother had her father murdered is still alive.
I appreciate this comment. I definitely understand how topics like this can be difficult, especially for people who have personal connections.
