+nova cosmics That, and I really think this theme represents the British military throughout history very well. If I had to describe them with one phrase, it would be "Too stubborn to die." They'll stare down a hundred gun barrels with a razor-sharp quip and brisk, drilled execution of procedure. They haven't been successfully invaded since the Classical era, and there are plenty of stories of Brits who survived insanely long odds: The Battle of Mirbat, the early stages of WWII's Pacific War, the Battle of Britain, the attempted invasion of the British Isles by various much larger fleets like the Spanish Armada, Chris Ryan, David Sillito, Dipprasad Pun, the Falkland Islands, and loads of others. They go out of their way to be _the_ immovable object on the map. Perhaps reflecting this ingame, it seemed to me like during the campaign, this theme would play _more_ often as the situation got _worse._ I'm glad to have 'em on our side.
The brits in this game is like the Ravens of 2000 xD DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE!! And... To tell the truth... In a map full of gas resources, when the game begins to turn on a race for armoured tanks, the british are the only faction who can hold against the German warmachine. The U.S. still has some counterfire, but a good brit defense can hold against almost anything. You can thrown even waves of King Tigers that the brits can defend themselves. This game portrays the reality of war in a very nice way. Always... ALWAYS, the side who defends got the prime advantage.
Rafael Teles My tactic in CoH+OF as the Commonwealth Forces is to go Royal Engineers, set up all 3 trucks on the closest fuel point I can and try and get the upgraded trucks. After that? A swarm of Sherman Fireflies assisted by turned-out commanders and a Cromwell Command tank. "Jerry won't know what hit 'em"
Zerro I don't think that the tank spam tactic could be well applied with the brits, but it is always a valid tactic. Good times when CoH was all about the infantry and the minor units, you could win a match with only rifleman for example. Now both games, the original and the sequel, became a tank race. Just sad...
Rafael Teles Not until the Walking Stukkas come out to play - I almost only play Brittish, love digging in and holding off the heavy tanks with the 17 Pounders. but bloody hell the Stukkas are OP. Can't hit what you can't see =\ For fun I always try to go 2v1 o9n Gillroys harbour as Brit and see if i can hold off 2 expert CPUs haven't succeed yet.
Jimmy Nahlous You can gain some time to muster a pair of tanks to hunt the stukkas. Lol, if you only defend and wait how long you can hold, the cpu will eventually use artillery. The AI is very slow to recognize that they can use artillery, in the sequel I am seeing the Germans using mortars to the start. CoH2 on lauching was pretty horrible, but now is very fun. Not as great than the original, but a nice rts in the end.
Rafael Teles I swear you can just about hear the faint sound of whimpering crying Germans between the apocalyptic thunderstorm of 25-Pounder howitzers.
1. Poland held out just as long as France did. 2. Poland faced both the Russians AND the Germans, whereas France faced only Germany. 3. Poland didn't get to mobilize most of its army. France did. 4. Poland received no help, France received 200.000 soldiers from England. 5. Poland's military strength wasn't half of that of the French. 6. Poland's air force was knocked out of the sky before the war began, this wasn't the case of the French. 7. Poland wasn't prepared, France was.
When oppossing fronts came out, I was never a good at the CoH multi, but the music alone in the multiplayer when you play Brits is what kept me going, it just added so much to the game. I eventually become pretty good and now am rank 16 for all factions. Cant wait for CoH2! I hope they reuse the engine and bring back the CoH1 themes (american/brit )

@kenk9 I usually just use commandos to plant charges aimlessly around the map and on command points. The area around your explosive charges actually clears up fog-of-war, so i plant them on main roads to get an idea of what im up against. You'd be surprised how many times iv'e forced an army into retreat, then vaporized about 50 men as they ran home. haha
This plays when turning Tigers and Panthers into burning hot metal with good ol 17 pounder emplacements/ fireflies while raining hell with the 25 pounders.
@Anarkyfox7 The poles were defeated yes, but their army survived, if you check all the major battles, pretty much all of them had the polish involved in them. Anyways, great track ;).
@Ixtzalit Late war U boots werent "invisible". They still could be heard if their engines were on, they still had to surface to turn their diesel engines on every night to recharge their bateries. Its impossible for a U-boot to get acrross a thick screen of destroyers, thats why they operate against merchants, never near the english coast. Japanese subs attacked only US military ships and they sucked at it... Also Germany also didnt have that much rubber to mass produce silent U-boots..
Every man fought with all his strength. As a Pole I'm proud of my predecessors, and you, as a man whose country fought as part of Western Alliance, should not take away anything from these brave men. THAT is a shame. May they rest in peace, people to whom we owe who we are today.
@Anarkyfox7 The poles lasted one week short of the french but never surrendered, thus as the war progressed 2 entities were formed, one in Britain and one in the USSR as they started reeling from Germany. @Olazaika1 Actually, the horse charging tanks thing is popular a myth loosely based on the Battle of Krojanty in 1939. The German propaganda machine distorted the events to portray the Poles as inferior, while the Allies thought the distorted version better showed heroism. Perspective I suppose.
