- Two youthful looking rascals doing damage to various instruments in Daingean Uí Chúis (again) around 1990. What the young cub beside Seamus made of it all we can only guess- but sure it could have done him nothing but good. If this doesn't raise a shmile or two, you must be dead. Up the Kingdom!
Seamus and Steve both so grand Musician ever and singer thank you so much appreciate
Ah, McCarthy's in the good old days... such times we had there and such mighty music. I'm glad I never took it for granted. I knew it was such a privilege to be listening to the likes of Steve and Seamus and Donogh and Mark playing for the love of it and maybe a free pint from Tom behind the bar, riffing off each other till late at night. We were all poorer, and yet better off, though some musicians might not agree. (It's DJ sets and cocktails there now and €15 in when there's a gig on - at 5 p.m., I ask you!)
No doubt there's a lot that was better there back in the day... sad how seemingly it's the same story the wide world over.
Music to lift the heart
