Almost bought the polo. Drove both these cars and the polo felt faster and better built. But the monthly payments on a polo compared to the fiesta just didn't win me. But I'm glad I bought the fiesta red edition it's great fun and it's averaging 41mpg. And I drive it hard.
Chadwick 1991 It's an awesome car. I picked up a Red Edition in January and have driven it pretty hard. You'd be hard pushed to find a hatchback as fun as this one - I love it!
+Chadwick 1991 I drove both too actually, ended up purchasing the Polo BlueGT. Both are very fun cars to drive, but the Polo just felt more refined. Not to talk about the sound, the Fiesta sounds dull in my opinion. You can clearly hear that it's a 3 cylinder engine. The price wasn't really the issue for me, as in Denmark it's hard to get affordable insurance for young drivers (I'm 19). VW has a deal for young drivers, that no insurance company can compete with. Ford could not offer that, so I would end up paying more for the Fiesta actually. Have fun with your Fiesta, it's a great car man :-)
Mostly the translation comes later. But to summarize: The VW is perfect, but a lot more expensive than the Ford. The Ford gives more joy in driving and is almost perfect. So, the Ford wins this comparison.
Ik zelf rijd deze Ford fiesta red edition. Onderstel is super sportief, waardoor je echt aan wegdek plakt. Rotondes met hoge snelheid pakken is daarom leuker in deze fiesta dan in die polo gt.
Over de prijs van de Polo wordt gelogen. Mijn BlueGT was nieuw 23.000 Euro en niet 30.000 Euro Zo maak je het de Polo-bashers wel heel gemakkelijk met je nepnieuws. Ik ken beide auto's. Na 1000 km rol je doodmoe uit de Fiësta (inderdaad, dat guitige uitbreken) en stap je fit uit de Polo. Maar tegenwoordig moet van de autobladen je vering en demping van beton zijn, anders is het niet "leuk" meer. Waarbij de BlueGT een auto is voor mensen die net even wat verder doordenken.
Wel een leuk detail in het voordeel van de Polo is dat je voor €17.000,- ~ €18.000,- al een twee jaar oude occasion hebt. Dat is nog niet goedkoop, maar hij doet niet onder voor de nieuwe en de kop is er al af.

@@TheClarksonFan The Polo is mediocre at best. Shit to drive, awful electrics, rust like mad and gearboxes made out of chocolate. And the 1.6tdi and TSi engines are absolutely shocking.
Nakke144 I don’t know what you’re basing all these assertions on, one can only assume that you’re describing a Peugeot by mistake. My BlueGT is excellent to drive with light and precise but solid steering, a responsive and functional infotainment system, and a truly epic DSG gearbox that coupled with the ACT engine make it really quick of the line. Fiestas are good to drive and they look good (I’ll give them that) but they’re slow, badly made, claustrophobic inside, cumbersome and have an infotainment system you’d expect to see running Windows 98.

radu ardeleanu you do pay for quality instead of fords cheap plastics though so the price difference is definitely worth it.
