My first time here. Thank you for sharing. I learned to knit when I retired. I mostly slow stitch but I am always knitting or crocheting too. I just happen to see you while browsing RUclips . You have wonderful ideas and wonderful and yarn. I live in Arizona so I know what hot is. It ca get up to 120 F in the summer but I cheat I have a summer home in north east Arizona high in the mountains where the weather is cool in the summer. We don't even need air conditioning . We live in a small town in the forest different from the desert in the Valley we live in the winter where the weather is mild. Best of both worlds. 😊❤😎🌵🌲
I found out a life hack this summer! When it’s so hot outside and you can’t knit cause your hands are sweating - put the basic cotton socks on your feet!) It’s the only way I can knit this summer 😅☀️
I mainly crochet but just last year I liked knitting, started with easy thicker projects, then just this year I like to knit more socks and I do them in magic loop (never tried dpn 😅 or 9") and I prefer to make them two at a time because I know I have this second sock syndrome 😂 and also found out that my tensions change every now and then and this results of not the same size socks 😅. In this summer hot weather I still knit socks and do some crochet summer tops in colorful summery palette 😊💕💚🩵✨🌸
I live in Florida. I thankfully have AC, but small projects work best for me in summer. Blankets knitting is usually put on hold, or done while sitting 🎉on the couch so it can be laid out beside me as it grows. Love your podcast and your lovely vacation.
It was soooo good!!! I loved all the food we had there and the people were just amazingly friendly:-) We will have to do movie/knit night watching the Parent Trap:-)
Thanks for the podcast. Loved the holiday shots. Wish I could have been in that wool shop with you. 😊 Knit the same in summer as winter. If at home - with the fan on. If out - an air conditioned coffee shop. 😊
Thank you for another wonderful episode ❤ In the summer I knit all the things but mostly in cotton, linen, silk or bamboo blends. And of course socks 🤩
Beautiful footage of your vacation and your kitchen now has really nice kitchen towels. To answer your question about what I knit when it’s hot, if it’s way to hot I tend to stay inside with air conditioning 😂this girl needs to knit. At the moment I’m knitting a blanket that it’s made out of many squares “From Grandma with Love” pattern by Melanie Berg. I’m knitting it with a commercial yarn in a DK blend of 55% superwash merino and 45% acrylic the brand is Loops and Thread called Luxe Merino. Looking forward to see the next time
Thank you for sharing beautiful Greece! When it’s hot (I’m in California), I still knit lots of socks. Currently have 3 sock WIPS, one is Stephen West’s SSAL. So fun!
I knit all year, regardless of the weather. I'm very thankful for AC! I am currently knitting a cardigan sweater, a shawl and a pair of hungry caterpillar socks for my daughter.
Hello! Lovely podcast, lovely music and lovely socks!!!! Thank you so much! I knit socks all the time and crochet/knit washcloths when it’s hot!🥵 enjoy the summer, lovely Greece trip! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Like you Malene, I can’t not knit. Fortunately, most of our summer days have a high between 72° F (22° C) and 79° F (26° C), although occasionally we can have a scorcher. I always have a pair of socks on the needles. Right now it’s the Woodland Walk Socks by This Handmade Life; it’s a free pattern with almost 2700 projects on Ravelry. I am using The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers Bear Paw Sock in the colorway Huck Patch. Thank you for sharing Greece with us.
These colors from Greece are so inspiring , thank you for sharing . It is hot where I live, but I'm still knitting mostly socks that is not much fabric in your lap . This time a ' heel toe do si do' pattern from the crazy sock lady. When it is a bit cooler I have a cardigan on the go as well .
I'm blessed to have access to an aur conditioner so I just knit whatever makes me happy! Beautiful holiday memories made in Greece❤ It's quite hard to let your babies go on the road. Well done to all of you
It's a sunny 102°F/34°C here in SE Washington State, USA, and I stay indoors during the majority of the day, sometimes knitting on the deck in the mornings. Very low humidity (17%), so not as uncomfortable as it sounds. I'm currently knitting a short-sleeve Tolsta Tee in fingering weight merino/silk. I also have a pair of Turbo Toes socks in self-striping yarn on the needles. This is the first episode I've seen of your podcast, and I'm so happy to have found you. Your music is beautiful, and your video travel-log was a lot of fun. I thoroughly enjoyed my first "visit " with you.
I love your podcast and seeing all the beautiful things you create. I live in Arizona and it will be 111degrees F today. Right now I am working on a pair of socks.
Thank you for sharing your trip, knitting and yarns. At the moment I'm knitting a pair of yoga socks for our local Red Cross Christmas bazaar. I wanted to make a few different things from what I made last year.
Socks! I always, always knit socks; warm, cold, anything in between is sock weather! But I'm thinking of casting on a blanket and a sweater this week while I'm in the house under the a/c! It's too hot in Texas for big projects to be on you outside. Thanks for the lovely podcast.
Love your vlogs! I'm laughing every time you say "boat blanket" as I'm imagining Lars tucking the boat in for the night under a large, cozy blanket! (Ridiculous!)
Hi Malene, Thank you for another fun and relaxing episode of knitting, music, cats and sharing your holiday with us! It has been a hot summer here in Massachusetts as well, so I enjoy knitting in the shade on my front porch early in the mornings. I currently have 3 sock WIPS in rotation, one of which is your Dragonfly shorties. Take good care
Hi Marlene. Here in the Gold Country of California we have had 15 days in a row of high temperatures of over 100 degrees F! Like you - I cannot not knit. For me that means knitting with a fan close by and a huge jug of iced herbal tea at my side while working on sock projects. The knitting is slower - but then I’m not about knitting quickly - it’s just about knitting. Thank you for an other lovely podcast. Until the next time. Salam wa sa’aadah
Hello from Minnesota USA! Another enjoyable episode, I love all socks. I am working on socks and a hat. I also have a cotton towel going. Thank you for the peek at Greece!
Actually I found that I like to knit socks, when it’s warm but also summer tops in silk or linen yarn. Thank you for this episode, it’s such a great way to spend my time while I have my injured wrist and not being able to knit 😢 Looking forward to next episode ❤
Thank you for sharing that lovely Greece footage. I felt like I was there, especially when you arrived at the hotel and drove up that hill toward the signature blue and white buildings. 😍 I am knitting a blanket using 4-weight yarn and it is getting so big and it is scorching hot here, but I really want to get it done. I know that sounds like madness, but I am in love with the project. I may buy some cotton yarn and follow your lead and knit some washcloths. 😉 Happy Birthday, Ella! 🎂❤ Two teenage girls AND one that is driving across borders? Wow! 😲
Another lovely episode, thank you ❤ I knit small items in summer so that I don’t have a big pile of knitted yarn sitting in my lap - socks, hats, gloves and amigurumi 😊
I always have small projects going in the summer, but I get a particular craving to knit a beaded lace shawl in the summer! 😅 I can't explain it, but there you go!
I so enjoy your chat and the wonderfull projects. I have the same attitude about knitting. Congrats on a 13 & 18 year old, like my oldest daughter. Already do gifts for a Great Grandson!! Life is so very unexpectedly surprising and wonder! I wnjoy learning what is my favorite makes both by hoon and needles. Summer knitting in public where there is water and fun walks in the marina parks.
Hi Malene Yet another brilliant sit and knit time with you and I always feel so inspired seeing all your socks and beautiful yarns I also knit my socks in tandem and always will No second sock syndrome and my gauge, even if it fluctuates, is evenly dispersed over each sock I do cuff cuff, leg leg, heel heel, toe toe I find it the best way for me too Have a 🥰happy day 💜🐨
What a lovely vacation you had with your family! So glad you found a yarn store while there. What I knit during the hot summer months is the same thing I knit all year round - socks!
Your video from Greece was so nice to see-- thank you! The summers where I live are very hot and humid every day. Like you, dishcloth knitting, and I have been knitting hats for Knitting 4 Peace.
Wonderful video as always ❤ in the summer I mostly knit socks and around now I start knitting hats and mittens as well as swatches for bigger fall/winter garments to check my gage ❤
Thanks for sharing all the beautiful socks, your trip to Crete and all the pretty yarny goodies. I knit socks and light shawls in the summer time, sometimes I will do a baby knit to have on hand too. 😊
I knit all the things in the summer. I turn the air up, wrap up in a blanket or quilt and knit away. I was working on socks while watching this evening. Your trip looked amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the beautiful music and and sharing a little bit from your holiday to Crete. When I’m away to warm countries I usually knit sock or small purses. Right now I knit on the Tremezzo top from Pia Trans 😊🙏
I knit a lot of cotton items. Tops, dishcloths, and lace items with cotton thread. I still have a sock or three on the needles but those are only done inside with the AC on. Love your trip video, what a beautiful country.
When it is hot I knit on socks. I also have been working on sweaters, I just keep the majority of the sweater in my bag with the part I need sticking out. This way the fuzzy project is not on my lap. I enjoy your podcasts, thank you.
Thanks for the Crete footage and lovely piano playing. Although it can be hot here in California,I still knit a lot in the summer. I’m working on a cotton top and socks now.
Hi Marlene, love watching your vlog at the weekend! Thank you 😘 Summertime is sock knitting time. It’s the only thing I can handle on my needles when it’s still hot outside.
I empathise about your daughters growing up. But take heart, mine offspring will be 40, 37, 35 and 28 this year!! I love sock knitting all year round 🧦🧦. In my heart, it is autumn all the time 🍁🦔🍂 It is pretty cool here in the UK (about 22C), so of course, I am knitting socks - dreaming of cooler weather. Jinny - UK
Hi there Malene, i totally recognize your problem with the warmth. I also prefer cooler weather, and stay in the shade when possible. Socks are my go to in summer.
Thanks for sharing your knitting and holiday snaps! It looked like a wonderful time. I keep knitting socks in the heat and also smaller things like hats and baby clothes that I donate to my local hospital.
I knit all the year long. It has been 110* F+ for a very long time this summer. I luckily have central heating and air so I can knit on anything at anytime!
Greetings Malene! It was 102 F last week here in Denver, Colorado, USA! I have a couple of socks on my needles right now. I have also been working on a few summer tops. Thank you for sharing some video of your trip to Crete. I have always wanted to go to Greece, but perhaps summertime is not the best for me either.
Lovely to see you and glad the holiday went well. I also do not like the very hot weather at all, I love to look out at a grey, rainy, cool day and sit down with my knitting! I am an addicted sock knitter, always have 3 or 4 pairs on the go and do them in tandem.
I knit in air conditioning when it's hot! Lol! I, too, melt in the heat and prefer the spring and fall temperatures! I also love knitting socks and my current project is a sock for Sock Week 2024 with Knitty Natty. Knitting a vanilla sock pattern with Polka Dot Creek yarn that she dyed for Sock Week, Waterton Lakes National Park, with Frost as the mini. I knit socks in tandem and like the fact that when you are done, you're done and have a finished pair! Thank you for sharing your trip to Greece-beautiful!
So nice to sit down and watch your podcast this morning. I LOVE how your self striping mermaid waves socks are knitting up! I’m working on the 2nd sock of mine as I watch. As someone who lives is a very warm climate, I can say that socks and small projects are what I make most in the summer. It’s always a joy to catch up with you! 🥰🥰
Thank you so much! I just finished my stripey Mermaids and I love them:-) I want to cast on a third pair. It is such an amazing pattern. Hugs to you all!
Hi Malene! How lovely to see you on another wonderful podcast. I loved the clip of your trip to Crete. I have a brother-in-law who went to visit his family in December and it looks like such a beautiful place to visit. I loved that you played an Abba song too - such a blast from the past! You're such a gifted musician😇 It's hot here in the States too🥵 I've been doing a lot of sock knitting recently - of course knitting along with the Crazy Sock Lady's Summer Sock Camp! I just finished a shortie version of Hermione's Everyday Socks and I'm currently working on a pattern by Kay called Dad's Socks. I only knit outside if the temps are in the 70s or low 80s, otherwise, I'm like you, I have to keep cool and knit in the house😊. I have never heard of eucalyptus fiber being used to make yarn! What is it like to work with? Is it comparable to cotton or bamboo? Keep up the great work!❤
Thank you so much! Yes, I'd say the eucalyptus is like a cotton or bamboo. Very soft and has a bit of shine. I liked it very much and would purchase it again if I saw some:-)
I so enjoyed your vacation video! I’m currently making my first Ranunculus. I always have socks on the needles, and will knit anything even in the warm weather!
I love buying yarn as a holiday souvenir too. (I bought some in Denmark last summer!) I do knit and crochet in the summer- thankfully, we have air conditioning! I'm working on a crocheted baby blanket for a friend, and I always have multiple sock wips on the go.
Hi from Norway! This summer I am knitting summer garments in the evenings (cotton/linen tops) and I have small projects to take with me in the daytime/heat, like hats/headbands for my kids (whatever they need for fall) and this summer I am doing something brand new(for me). I am knitting squares for «lappestafetten» It could ne dishcloths or wool squares for A blanket. Norwegian podcasters are designing a free pattern square every month this year. A lot of fun!
Thank you Malene for another joyful episode, it's always a pleasure to listen/watch you😊. When it's super hot I knit socks or beanies. At the moment I have a Sea Glass tee on my needles and a pair of socks, which I'm knitting with 2 selfstriping sockyarn and 1 tow stripes. Actually Opal yarns are great for those kind of socks! Have a wonderful day ❤
Good to see you! In the summer my knitting slows down a little bit as the warm temps are nice but not so good for constant knitting. I am a spinner and enjoy making yarn on my spinning wheel as well as processing fleece(s) to prepare them for spinning. The knitting project that I am currently working on is being made with some Wensleydale wool that I spun and dyed with madder root - the pattern is the Ranunculus sweater. It will be my third one. Thank you for your podcast!
Thank you for a lovely episode, and the Abba music ❤ i still knit, on the hottest days I snooze during peak hours if I can and in the evenings I knit socks 😉
Beautiful trip and your yarn. What a lucky lady! Thank you for sharing your music. You are very talented. My baby has turned 16 and is learning to drive. 😢 Who said he could grow so fast? We live in AZ, in the desert. Lots of days every year over 100 degrees. Wool sweater are out for me. Socks and more socks and loving it. J
Dear Marlene, always looking forward to your lovely podcast. Especially love your beautiful project bags, one day hope to buy one. In summer I prefer crochet but I am also knitting on a test knit. Thx and send you kisses xxx
Hello from North Carolina! I so enjoyed seeing your vacation pictures! It has been very hot here this July, so mostly I stay inside while knitting, mostly socks, but dishcloths as well. Currently I'm crocheting a baby blanket out of cotton thread held double, which also is easy to use in the summer. PS: I love your piano music!
When it is hot I will knit socks while either standing or floating in the swimming pool. The latter one took a while to find the right floation for the yarn, etc (I use a plastic dish washing pan!). I was also on vacation when the Three By the Sea Designs shop was updated (it happened at 2 AM for me), and checked as soon as I woke up, thinking for sure I will have missed everything as usual (though I live near then in Florida I miss out because I forget). BUT, I managed to get my hands on the She Sells Seashells sock set and a Sea Fan on the Amelia Silver Base. Yay for vacation purchases for us both 😎. Happy 13th birthday and I feel for you on the kids growing up (mine are boys, nearly 14 and 16--yikes). Have a great week!
Waving from a 33C hot day in Tokyo ~ I am knitting a linen Minimalist tee today, sitting in the air conditioning, as it is definitely too hot to finish the Noro Ajisai yarn cardigan I have been working on since last winter... Thank you for the tour of Crete and lovely music!
Hello MaIene, I love your podcasts. Your knitting is beautiful and love all your socks. I feel inspired to try a garter stitch heel. I am currently knitting a shawl for my sister in garter stitch with a picot edge. I too am addicted to knitting. 😃
Hello, I loved seeing your pictures from Greece. Thank you for sharing. In February I went to Jamaica. It was too hot to knit socks with wool yarn. So I knit gnomes out of acrylic yarn. The pattern is from Sarah Schira, Imagined Landscapes. I used her pattern for Noah. It is a simple to make gnome, perfect for sitting on the beach to knit. It was soooo hot and my hands were so sweaty that I am amazed the finish did not come off my metal DPNs. Here in the US we have had a string of days with higher than normal temperatures. I prefer to stay in the air conditioning, but my grandson’s baseball team was in tournament play. I had to go cheer on his team. I did take wool socks to knit, but had a small fan that sat on my chest and blew air into my face. It wasn’t a lot of help to be cool, but it was a little help. (His team won the championship.). I knit a gnome in the team colors and gave it to his mom. When the team lost the lead, the gnome was turned upside down in the cup holder of her chair. That turned things around and the team won. I have four pairs of socks that are on needles. Three of them I am working at the same time on separate needles. The other is a second sock. I finished the first earlier today and immediately cast on the second. I am also knitting a gnome a day. I want to have 120 gnomes by the end of November to give away to children at a Christmas party at church. I am halfway to my goal.
I Malene for sharing your knitting and holiday with us. All this beautiful yarn and socks. I think I must cast-on a new pair today. South Africa has very hot summers, I knit on summer tops and socks. We have a yarnbase that is wool and linen based that is perfect for summer knits. Currently we are in winter and I am knitting a shrug
We knitters in UK got quite lucky with summer that is very appropriate for knitting, not hot at all 😂 I knitted few summer garments, one is V-stitch Summer Cardigan by Michelle Moore form mjsoffthehook, and test knitted a Sea Swell Tee by Beth McDonald's-Stone (pattern will be released pretty soon). And of course socks, i always have one or two on the needles. Oh wow! Greece looks very much like Cornwall in UK ❤ Landscape and sea water, and streets, and shops 😄 There is no good knit modelling if there is no cat attached to it ❤ wel done kitty, with you next to it socks always look better 😍 Thank you for a lovely episode, as always ❤️
Miss Siffy certainly agrees with you - and me too:-) She is right here very close to me as I am typing. I just find pets such a comfort. Happy Knitting!
Another GREAT episode Marlene. Thank you for sharing your footage from Greece, it was so beautiful. During the summer here in Chicago, I knit on socks in the shade. I spent the day on the River Walk in downtown Chicago yesterday and of course took my sock wip with, never leave home without it.
What a beautiful location for your vacation! Since I'm mostly knitting socks, I can keep knitting in hot weather. Right now I'm attempting my first helical striped socks.
Lovely to find my favourite LYS on your channel, I live a few km outside Chania and go here often. In summer I knit washcloths while on the beach as they inevitably get covered in sand and apart from this I tend to concentrate on lighter projects such as the two lacy scarves which are currently on my needles. The only projects I avoid are my blankets which will wait until it is a bit cooler (its still 35-38C here).
Hi Malene, I'm so glad I found your podcast again! I recall watching at least one before but I forgot your channel name and couldn't find you again... but here we are! I absolutely love how your Christmas themed socks are going! Purple and green are my favorite colors. Right now I am working on a pair of DRK Everyday socks from Andrea Mowry in a pumpkin spice colorway! While you're thinking Christmas, I'm thinking Halloween! Usually in the summer I am indoors with air conditioning so I don't really change my knitting habits at all and will continue to knit sweaters and blankets, though if I am going outside to knit I always make sure to grab my sock knitting so I don't get overheated!
Hi Malene, Thank you for sharing some footages of your Crete's holydays with us. When it's hot, I continue to knit but I avoid knitting mohair, or big projects like blankets or men worsted yarn sweaters. Socks, summer tops, baby clothes (in summer yarn or not) are my favorites. Now I'm knitting a fingering cardigan for myself, the Blooming lavender socks and as brainless wip, cotton/bamboo socks for my son; and I just finished a cardigan for my grandaughter. Concerning Supersoft, the more you wash it the more it softens, and after the first wash it becomes plumpy as when you buy it it remains spinning oil. My favorite Holst Garn yarn is the coast (merino and cotton) which is softer and a perfect summer yarn.
I knit socks year-round! I bought cotton yarn to knit with if I got too hot, but I've never needed it. If my hands get sweaty I can't stand knitting anyway. 😉
Tak for another wonderful episode. All of your projects are eye candy and so inspiring! I am working on a pair of Little Dots Socks by Summer Lee and loving them. 🧶🦊
I knit on socks in the hot weather and also knit on smaller projects that don’t lay heavy in my lap when the weather is too hot. But here where I live we also have air conditioning, what a blessing that is when the temperatures are 116 degrees Fahrenheit 😮. It doesn’t happen very often, but in the occasion it does, the a/c is so much appreciated.
❤❤love every episode 🎉🎉🎉 So many socks,,,and that's about all I knit,,,,,love them,,, We have had a hot spell here and still knit,,,socks!!!!🎉 Loved the pics of Crete,,,,,lovely but hot,,,,good idea for dishcloths,,,,, Love ur habitation ,,,,and ur new blanket,,, I am knitting #9 for summer sock camp,,,,some are wips,,,, Just enjoying them all ,,,, Elaine 🏠💕

Hi, Malene! Thank you for a lovely episode, as always! We also had a couple of really hot days, but my sock knitting did not stop. 😅
I knit socks year round. Enjoy your podcasts.

Thank you so much! She only drove to right before the border. You have to be 18 to drive in Germany😊 But she had a blast😃
Happy knitting🤩
I so enjoy your chat and the wonderfull projects. I have the same attitude about knitting. Congrats on a 13 & 18 year old, like my oldest daughter. Already do gifts for a Great Grandson!! Life is so very unexpectedly surprising and wonder!
I wnjoy learning what is my favorite makes both by hoon and needles. Summer knitting in public where there is water and fun walks in the marina parks.
Thank you!
Hi Malene Yet another brilliant sit and knit time with you and I always feel so inspired seeing all your socks and beautiful yarns I also knit my socks in tandem and always will No second sock syndrome and my gauge, even if it fluctuates, is evenly dispersed over each sock I do cuff cuff, leg leg, heel heel, toe toe I find it the best way for me too Have a 🥰happy day 💜🐨
Thank you Simone! Happy sock knitting:-)
I still knit anything... Even when it's hot 😊. Have also been to Crete in July... Phew!! ❤❤
What a lovely vacation you had with your family! So glad you found a yarn store while there. What I knit during the hot summer months is the same thing I knit all year round - socks!
Hi Malene. Love your beautiful Podcast. In this heat I still knit of course 😂 but some light projects like socks or shirts with summery yarns 😊
Thank you for your lovely podcast. I enjoy seeing your knitting, yarn finds, and listening to beautiful music.
Your video from Greece was so nice to see-- thank you! The summers where I live are very hot and humid every day. Like you, dishcloth knitting, and I have been knitting hats for Knitting 4 Peace.
What a lovely charity to knit for! Thank you for watching:-)
Thanks for the beautiful 🎵 music, on summer I use to knit cotton or Bamboo fibers. Tank tops or tees
I love the beautiful music. I’m crocheting a shrug and knitting a cap.
I knit all the things in the summer. I turn the air up, wrap up in a blanket or quilt and knit away. I was working on socks while watching this evening. Your trip looked amazing! Thanks for sharing!
That sounds amazing! Happy Knitting:-)
Love all your socks :)) very pretty!
I love knitting 2 at a time on magic loop :)) I used to knit socks with dpns but I enjoy magic loop now :))
Thank you🎵☀️
Thanks for the Crete footage and lovely piano playing. Although it can be hot here in California,I still knit a lot in the summer. I’m working on a cotton top and socks now.
Knitters have to knit:-) I always knit too. Just such a comfort and joy!
Hi Marlene, love watching your vlog at the weekend! Thank you 😘
Summertime is sock knitting time. It’s the only thing I can handle on my needles when it’s still hot outside.
I empathise about your daughters growing up. But take heart, mine offspring will be 40, 37, 35 and 28 this year!!
I love sock knitting all year round 🧦🧦. In my heart, it is autumn all the time 🍁🦔🍂
It is pretty cool here in the UK (about 22C), so of course, I am knitting socks - dreaming of cooler weather.
Jinny - UK
Thank you so much Jinny!
😍
I knit all the year long. It has been 110* F+ for a very long time this summer. I luckily have central heating and air so I can knit on anything at anytime!
Hooray for air conditioning so that we can enjoy knitting even when it’s hot😃Thank you for watching🎵💖
Marlene… you are a delight! Watching from Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s in the 90’s here… i agree with you re warm weather.. i prefer the 60 degree weather!
Yes! 60 degrees is just perfect. I couldn't agree more:-)
I knit in air conditioning when it's hot!
I liked it very much and would purchase it again if I saw some:-)
Knitting Miss Maggie Rabbit clothing - dress, socks and Little hooded coat. Thankyou for showing us around Greece
I so enjoyed your vacation video! I’m currently making my first Ranunculus. I always have socks on the needles, and will knit anything even in the warm weather!
Oh I love the Ranunculus. I might have to knit another:-)
I love buying yarn as a holiday souvenir too. (I bought some in Denmark last summer!) I do knit and crochet in the summer- thankfully, we have air conditioning! I'm working on a crocheted baby blanket for a friend, and I always have multiple sock wips on the go.
Souvenir yarn is the best🤩Hope you had a great time in little old Denmark😃🇩🇰
Hi from Norway! This summer I am knitting summer garments in the evenings (cotton/linen tops) and I have small projects to take with me in the daytime/heat, like hats/headbands for my kids (whatever they need for fall) and this summer I am doing something brand new(for me). I am knitting squares for «lappestafetten» It could ne dishcloths or wool squares for A blanket. Norwegian podcasters are designing a free pattern square every month this year. A lot of fun!
That sounds like so much fun! Thank you for watching:-)
@@ThePlayfulKnitter If you search «lappestafetten» om ravelry you’ll find the free patterns (in Norwegian but they have diagrams as well)
Thank you Malene for another joyful episode, it's always a pleasure to listen/watch you😊. When it's super hot I knit socks or beanies. At the moment I have a Sea Glass tee on my needles and a pair of socks, which I'm knitting with 2 selfstriping sockyarn and 1 tow stripes. Actually Opal yarns are great for those kind of socks! Have a wonderful day ❤
Tak for god podcast💚 Jeg har altid et par strømper på pindene. Og karklude til de meget varme dage😊
I love the Ranunculus too! Currently contemplating casting on my fifth ... or is it sixth?;-)
They just grow so fast. All we can do is try to keep up😍 Happy sock knitting🎵💖
I still knit the big chunky sweater during summer 😅 and the best pool knitting is socks ❤
Dear Marlene, always looking forward to your lovely podcast. Especially love your beautiful project bags, one day hope to buy one. In summer I prefer crochet but I am also knitting on a test knit. Thx and send you kisses xxx
Thank you so much! Happy Knitting:-)
Thank you and happy knitting!
You make me want to run away to Greece right now.... in hot summers I love to knit light, airy shawls for early autumn or even chilly summer nights
Thank you so much and have a great week!
Waving right back from a bit cooler Denmark today. About 22 Celsius. Much more manageable😊 Thank you for watching and happy knitting🎵💖
I still knit I just have to. I am continually knitting socks, mainly vanilla socks. You are so relaxing to listen too!
Thank you so much! I completely agree - I also have to knit:-)
Tak for et dejligt afsnit, jeg elsker varmen bare jeg må sidde i skyggen😊 jeg plejer at strikke på et mindre projekt så ofte strømper❤
Hello MaIene, I love your podcasts. Your knitting is beautiful and love all your socks. I feel inspired to try a garter stitch heel. I am currently knitting a shawl for my sister in garter stitch with a picot edge. I too am addicted to knitting. 😃
Thank you for sharing your marvellous piano-playing with us ❤. It does not get very warm in Scotland during the Summer so I carry on knitting socks 🧦
Thank you!
Congratulations to your grandson! And what a lovely and generous gift. I’m know they will all be thrilled with their gnomes🤩
Hey. Thanks for sharing your summer memories in Greece and thanks for the beautiful music 🎹🩵☀️🤍
Hello from Utah!
First time watching your podcast! I really enjoyed it while I knit on socks and baking a banana bread! 🧶
Sounds yummy🤩Thank you for visiting🎵💖
When it’s hot I knit socks. Right now I’m working on my second pair of Shell Yeah socks for sock week!
Oh wow! Greece looks very much like Cornwall in UK ❤ Landscape and sea water, and streets, and shops 😄
There is no good knit modelling if there is no cat attached to it ❤ wel done kitty, with you next to it socks always look better 😍
Thank you for a lovely episode, as always ❤️
Miss Siffy certainly agrees with you - and me too:-) She is right here very close to me as I am typing. I just find pets such a comfort. Happy Knitting!
Another GREAT episode Marlene. Thank you for sharing your footage from Greece, it was so beautiful.
During the summer here in Chicago, I knit on socks in the shade. I spent the day on the River Walk in downtown Chicago yesterday and of course took my sock wip with, never leave home without it.
That sound so lovely! Thank you:-)
Your socks are so different, very artistic!
I love to knit summer tees and tanks for summer! 😊
Hi Marlene, I have 2 powerful little desk fans that I direct at my body and this allows me to carry on knitting! 🥰
That sound amazing! Thank you Sue:-)
Very calming music and pretty yarns
Thank you!
What a beautiful location for your vacation! Since I'm mostly knitting socks, I can keep knitting in hot weather. Right now I'm attempting my first helical striped socks.
Ooh those are such fun! Happy knitting:-)
When it is so hot I knit socks in merino and bamboo blend yarn or a simple shawl in light cotton yarn 😊
Hallo Malene, I knit whenever I want, the degrees are in my tea!😂
Lovely to find my favourite LYS on your channel, I live a few km outside Chania and go here often. In summer I knit washcloths while on the beach as they inevitably get covered in sand and apart from this I tend to concentrate on lighter projects such as the two lacy scarves which are currently on my needles. The only projects I avoid are my blankets which will wait until it is a bit cooler (its still 35-38C here).
Wow! That is so fun! We loved our visit to Crete and very much want to come back in the cooler months😊 Thank you for watching🎵💖
Thank you so much🎵💖
Hi Malene, Thank you for sharing some footages of your Crete's holydays with us.
Thank you Anne:-) I've heard that about Holst, so I'm very excited to see it for myself, when I get the blanket done:-)
I knit socks year-round! I bought cotton yarn to knit with if I got too hot, but I've never needed it. If my hands get sweaty I can't stand knitting anyway. 😉
Usually knitting on socks during the summer. Just started the Alaska hat.
Tak for another wonderful episode. All of your projects are eye candy and so inspiring! I am working on a pair of Little Dots Socks by Summer Lee and loving them. 🧶🦊
Oh her patterns are so fun and inspiring! Thank you:-)
I knit on socks in the hot weather and also knit on smaller projects that don’t lay heavy in my lap when the weather is too hot. But here where I live we also have air conditioning, what a blessing that is when the temperatures are 116 degrees Fahrenheit 😮. It doesn’t happen very often, but in the occasion it does, the a/c is so much appreciated.
❤❤love every episode 🎉🎉🎉
So many socks,,,and that's about all I knit,,,,,love them,,,
We have had a hot spell here and still knit,,,socks!!!!🎉
Loved the pics of Crete,,,,,lovely but hot,,,,good idea for dishcloths,,,,,

Wow 9 pairs! That amazing! Happy Knitting:-)
