I thought my level was quite okay until I had to start writing all of my emails in korean and attend the meetings with the korean crew, and I realized that I didn't know anything about business korean or this very specific vocabulary we use at the company. My boss used to get frustrated with me like "I thought you knew korean!" and I was like of course but when in my daily basis would I talk to my friends or husband about logistic terms or who else in my close circle of friends would i talk to the same way i talk to the 법인장? 😖 fortunately after two years I feel much more confident and tho I don't consider myself on the advanced level yet, i feel much closer! As expected, my hopeful guess for the mystery new website addition, that I thought would be the best possible thing that could be added, was wrong. Hyun-Woo 선생 gradation-color sweater really looks awesome! Thank you for the tips, I'm partly Intermediate going to Advance level. And since I've taken the opportunity to teach Beginner Korean level, I unknowingly do a lot of Unlearn & Relearn. Really hits me hard at the part where -Yes- when I heard word I don't know in a long conversation, I just brushed it off since I mostly get what the full meaning is. I'll try to be detail and pay more attention to seek more knowledge and step-by-step going to Advance Level!
aaaaah i’ve been at beginner level for so long but it’s hard because i’m learning on my own and the sources i have aren’t the best. i can’t go out and find a tutor since none are in my area. but thankfully your videos are here to help 😌
I feel like this is the kind of videos that makes you understand that not only do they explain Korean in a proper English manner, but they also KNOW their teaching skills. I've seen so many videos trying to teach Korean but just because they could speak Korean, made few mistakes in explaining grammar or verb tense... Speaking and being able to teach is so different, and it's very comforting to confirm that TTMIK teachers know what they're talking about. So thank you !
Thank you so much! I was really struggling to the point I typed “how should I study korean from intermediate stage” and was directed to this video which was very helpful. And through this I’ve noticed my weakness, I’m not putting enough effort, which I’m about to change from This moment. Thank you so much, 그리고 여러분들 화이팅 💪🏽.
Your videos are really helpfully it will make one year and a half that I’m learning Korean by following your lessons and I improve a lot thank you so much
I am not at the point where I am switching from intermediate to advanced yet, but this video tells so much truth. This is not the first language I learn, so I could at least compare it to my former experiences. It's true that once we get to a certain level, we don't put as much effort because we have enough to understand pretty much everything. The reality is that most of that is just intuition from the context we do understand. Thank you for these tips, the lessons, the courses on your website, and the constant motivation. 감사합니다!
i started about a year and a half ago, and i am stuck at intermediate level, in fact my reading skills are far better than my listening, and this video is great help. I need a boost in my learning.
I would recommend the 수따 타임 podcast on talktomeinkorean, and the 이야기 series too. Listen multiple times before checking your knowledge with the transcript. They're so useful. My reading skills are also stronger than listening, so I find this helps train my ear. I also like watching vloggers and gamers without subtitles so I'm not depending on Korean or English subs instead of actively listening.
Crazy that actually after 10 years (almost 11 years) of learning Korean, I just realized I have did all these points naturally. Thankfully I have a chance to learn formally in a academy where the learner being pushed to using 100% Korean during the class.

I'm a learner of Korean who started way too late in life and who can't seem to untangle spoken Korean in my head at all (I'm better with written), none of this is for me. I'll never get to an advanced level. However, from the perspective of a language teacher, I love gaining new perspectives into helping students overcome their plateaus.

I wish the upcoming course is also available in Spotify🥺, so I can listen it several times. Thank you so much TTMIK for all of yours effort to make us study more and speak confidently☺👏👏
Thanks for this. One thing I find interesting is that as a Korean American, my level of fluency is different in listening versus reading. I've gone through the listening tests (here in YT) up to level 10. I can honestly say that I understood 100% of level 9 and level 10 but only 95% of level 8 and 100% of level 7. This was due to some vocabulary I wasn't familiar with. The online test on your website is all reading and I got 3 answers wrong and was placed in level 7. I think it was reading (and vocabulary as well). I don't mind going through level 7 because I want to improve, but I find it interesting that there is such a disparity between my listening and reading abilities. (Let's not mention writing just yet.)
TTMIK is so fantastic! Not only is this advice and information so valuable to language learning, but really it’s applicable in so many learning environments, which I really appreciate as well! I’ve learned so much from TTMIK, I’m so happy to be using your resources to study! 감시합니다!

Thank you. I feel so advanced even though i am still on my way to be one. Your explanations are so vivid and your efforts in making these videos makes me feel so motivated to keep improving. Not just in language learning but in every aspect of my life. Thank you TTMIK. Love you all.
Recently listened to audiobook of Becoming Fluent by Richard Roberts and Roger Kreuz, which goes into a lot of detail about the different levels of language ability (fluency and proficiency) and what is required to move from one to the next. I recommend it if you found the points in this video helpful and want to consider more ways to “level up”.
This video is such a motivation for me bcoz from past few days I'm feeling really stressed and confused what to do next ...in short I was losing hope and my interest for this language I don't know gone somewhere and you posted video seriously I got motivated and now no doubts I'm going to continue further 🥰🥰thank you so much for this lovely and useful video❤️👍🏻
Keep going.
@@lazydamsel Thank you dear❤️

Thank you Hyunwoo 쌤 for these well structured tips ❤❤ I think I know now what I'm doing wrong or what exactly is missing in my method to learn Korean, I keep on failing to connect the dots between what I already acquired and new vocabularies and I should definitely read more books 😅 Thankfully, I will pay more attention now 🙏
I love the concept of 비빔쳇 ❤❤ I will anticipate all the releases 🔥🔥
Hyun-Woo 선생 gradation-color sweater really looks awesome!
Thank you for the tips, I'm partly Intermediate going to Advance level.
And since I've taken the opportunity to teach Beginner Korean level, I unknowingly do a lot of Unlearn & Relearn.
Really hits me hard at the part where -Yes- when I heard word I don't know in a long conversation, I just brushed it off since I mostly get what the full meaning is.
I'll try to be detail and pay more attention to seek more knowledge and step-by-step going to Advance Level!
You are a great teacher! Talk to me in Korean videos really help me improve my korean this year!
aaaaah i’ve been at beginner level for so long but it’s hard because i’m learning on my own and the sources i have aren’t the best. i can’t go out and find a tutor since none are in my area. but thankfully your videos are here to help 😌
선생님의 팬이에요. ^^ 늘 쉽게 재미있게 설명해주셔서 감사합니다.
Besides, I'm completely fan if his sweater
Hello Hyun Woo, you are amazing! Truly insightful! Thank you so much for being so incisive and wise!
Thats a crazy looking jersey, and you're rocking it
I noticed the nice sweater too, I want one
I’ve been in intermediate for so long and been really taking my time learning, that I don’t even know how to describe my fluency anymore.
Your videos are really helpfully it will make one year and a half that I’m learning Korean by following your lessons and I improve a lot thank you so much
The videos here are perfect! Its very good edited, good classes, everething is good!!
I also like watching vloggers and gamers without subtitles so I'm not depending on Korean or English subs instead of actively listening.
not @ me going 😧 every 15 seconds
how did i not know about this until now????
the video was really helpful!! thank you so much!
Crazy that actually after 10 years (almost 11 years) of learning Korean, I just realized I have did all these points naturally. Thankfully I have a chance to learn formally in a academy where the learner being pushed to using 100% Korean during the class.
Another amazing video!
I am from Pakistan too and I am learning Korean wow you guys make it so easier I am on the intermediate too
THIS WAS JUST WHAT I NEEDED! I feel stuck at a spot where I am unsure what level I am at. I feel like I struggle most when memorizing vocabulary because I know a lot of 문법. 오우 이거 정말 필요했네요 ㅠㅠ TTMIK 감사합니다 ㅠㅠ
Me too! I prefer grammar so much to vocabulary. So I bought 800 flashcards to write out vocab to help me out.

I really love you I am really happy because finally I can speak Korean my pronunciation is good (not really good)...I really don't know how did I finish all the levels at only 3 months..I think that's amazing..thanks for learning us ❤❤❤❤
You always motivate me to keep going when I want give up. I am learning korean Japanese and Chinese my korean had improved a lot so I will keep working hard💕😊
This was great!! Im intermediate and Im having such a hard time to find what i need to focus on to grow to advanced. I have been doing it more naturally, as i have a hard time sitting down and study by myself. Hearing this i notice I need to start focusing more on reading as I can do it at my own pace and look things up more easily. Time to open my korean HP book again haha
I didn't progress at all in months I needed this!!!
역시 선현우 선생님 말씀 주실 때는 순금만 쏟아져 나온다!!^^ 감사드립니다 🙏🏻🤩
I'm a learner of Korean who started way too late in life and who can't seem to untangle spoken Korean in my head at all (I'm better with written), none of this is for me. I'll never get to an advanced level. However, from the perspective of a language teacher, I love gaining new perspectives into helping students overcome their plateaus.
This is such good content, can be applied to any other language. Thank you so much!
This guy is doing a good service for real. Big thanks!
한국인인데도 추천에 떠서 봤는데, 한국어 뿐만이 아니라 다른 언어를 배울 때도 마찬가지라 많이 공감하면서 봤습니다. 차분하면서도 명료하게, 또 하나도 안 지루하게 설명하시는 게 정말 대단하시면서 많이 배울 점이 있네요. Great job!!!
This is what i was looking for...THANK YOU so much TTMIK for the video ❤

Now that's so relatable!! Thank you ❤️ I've been wondering if I'm improving or not.. it seems I've been on the right track.
이 비디오 좋네요! 이렇게 설명하는 것 이해가 돼져요! 미레 비디오에는 단어하고 표현을 이런 가르쳐 주는 법 더 자주 해주세요!
비빔챗 시리즈 너무 기대돼요! 고급 수준까지 실력을 키울 수 있게끔 노력하겠습니다!
The new course looks so interesting ! I still haven't the level to watch it yet, but I can't wait to learn more and more !
I think adding korean subtitles in videos where you go in-depth about certain topics, express things more intricately will also be conducive in connecting the dots & expressions....
ttmik just called me out here haha, why ttmik always upload new video in a right time, i just love it.
Woow!! This video helped me so much😱 in English I’m exactly the type of person who is intermediate and stuck there cause I basically understand everything so I’m lazy to learn some more words haha but you made me realized that this is not the end, I’m going to do some progress with my English and of course with my Korean🙏🏻 Thank you for this video!! 🔥 감사합니다 ^^
현우씨, 9:12 - that's how I always feel about you listening to your English! I hope that doesn't sound rude. Your English is impeccable and you hardly have an accent at all. It inspires me! I hope some day I can speak Korean even half as well as your English!!
All of your videos and advice have been so helpful. Thank you!
Please include bibimchat for basic members also....it's a humble request!🙏
They will put some of the videos on RUclips. That is basic member access.
@@PennieAutomatica Waiting for that to come soon!😀

I think giving some money to enjoy quality courses is what we have to do if we want to enjoy those courses
Really don't take these things for granted. Everything is made with immense effort.
Excellent video as usual 선생님. Everything you've covered also applies to an individual's native language(s) as well. I'm constantly saving new vocabulary on my smartphone whenever I encounter a new word or phrase.
Another amazing tip and great section I cannot wait to discover!! Thank you so much for all the efforts you put to help Korean learners improve their level!! 감사합니다!!!
Thank you so much for this! I have been wondering why am stuck in my Korean learning skills.
I just wanted to say thank you so much because you guys have helped me improve my Korean 감사합니다 ❤️
Really great explanation, thank you!
How inspiring! I have been stuck on the intermediate level for a long time now, but I still have a lot to learn to progress into the advanced level. I think I need to step out of my comfort zone and engage into a wide variety of topics now. 오늘도 수고하셨어요. 너무 감사합니다! 톡톡 화이팅!
thank you so much for always helping us with your videos
Is it possible to do a video about: 는 것 (past, present, future), 기, ㅁ/음? And the difference between them and everything about those 3 grammar points? Please. I feel like I understand them but at the same time i still struggle a bit with them...
The youtuber Go Billy did a video about comparing those three! You can go check it out on his page
Hyun woo, your English is soooooo good.
Great video, I love this kind of content and I really hope we'll continue to get these kind of videos :D
I wish the upcoming course is also available in Spotify🥺, so I can listen it several times. Thank you so much TTMIK for all of yours effort to make us study more and speak confidently☺👏👏
That would be a good idea but in the same time it would ruin the stats of Spotify wrapped
I guess Spotify may be illegal in Korea
감시합니다!
