New York has one of the lowest murder rates in the country. States like Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee have higher rates of gun violence than New York
It's sad for sure when ANY person dies. But let's face it, NYC has been full of criminals for at least 40 years. The bigger the city, the more crimes.

@@kgisabeast IKR! Not sure why they're making a big deal about crime or criminals, NY has ALWAYS been known for crimes since I was a kid. And in Toledo years back there was an undercover detective shot and killed in the North End but don't recall any major news except local.
The courts and judges only get serious after 25 arrests.
He did 5 years hard time for possession, did another 3 years prison for assault. Nobody was easy on him. I imagine these arrests were part of the 8 years prison time he did. Why was he able to obtain a gun so easily? If he hadn't had access to a gun this man would still be alive. Felons aren't allowed to own guns, at least in my state. You can't even vote if incarcerated for a felony in my state.

the other NYPD officers that were unalived in the line of duty in the recent years didn’t get as much recognition as this? Just an honest observation I have noticed. I wonder why.

I just attended the funeral for officer Justin Hare here in New Mexico who was also murdered in the line of duty on March 15th as he stopped to help the person who would ultimately take his life.
True evil how someone can just senselessly take a life without any regard, and in officer Hare's case, his murderer is showing smiling in his mugshot after commiting such an unspeakable act.

Why was he able to have a gun period? Why is it so easy for anyone to get a gun? In my state you cannot own a gun if you are a felon. Which is MI and same goes for OH. My boss was convicted of a felony for his landfill, lived in OH and couldn't own a gun for the rest of his life.
