First and foremost, I would like to THANK YOU for the easy to follow video. Which helped me fix my washing machine door seal, that I ordered 3 years ago. Also, it was so easy that a woman can do it, like myself. I made a short video to prove to other you can do it yourself if you have time and patience. Thank you once again.
Thank you for doing this. It was a huge help! I ended up removing the door latch assembly-it was just 3 screws and I didn’t have to worry about breaking the wires. All of your advice was spot on and made this job much easier.
thanks for this, have same exact model, this tutorial worked great, took me around 3hrs to do entire thing couple of things I noticed when I replaced this seal 1. use a power driver with a bolt head to unscrew and screw back those 2 weights, makes life much easier, than manually rotating those 6 bolts 2. once you remove all the parts before installing the new seal, clean out inside the machine w vacum and lysol, its naaaasty in there, I saw mouse droppings on the inside of the door when I removed the door from frame, have no idea how mice got there 3. for the metal seal ring around thats inside, the larger metal ring (the one with long screw), mount it but dont tighten it before putting on the lower weight, make sure the long screw that goes w the ring doesnt block the lower weight from sitting in the right position, I had to loosen this ring and move it up circularly to get lower weight to sit right 4. for outer metal seal ring, ask another person to hold the 2 ends while you stretch it to sit inside the rubber channel, much easier w another person
You, sir, are a hero! I feel like you were right there as I replaced the door seal, coaching me along with your patience and excellent explanations. Thanks to you, I not only successfully replaced the seal, but also gained a lot of confidence!
You are a true mechanic. If I tried this the result would be more leaks than the original problem. Thanks for the vid, it was a great learning experience.
Great video. You showed me exactly all the reasons why I'll never buy a big-box-store samsung hunk of junk. When this seal goes bad again, it'll be time to visit an actual appliance store for a much better designed washer. Thank you for the video! Great job.
Yeah Samsung will never be my first choice again, however I’ve fixed so many things on this kinda like a Lego toy now, could fix in my sleep, however with the price of the door seal now I’d rather buy a new one.
Thank YOU!! My Husband and I took everything apart following your instructions and FIXED IT! The appliance repairman incorrectly diagnosed it and was trying to rip out the old seal by hand! It wasn't until I found your video that I realized that he didnt know what he was doing. He wanted us to unplug it and told us it would cost $600 to fix it when a new one only costs a few hundred more... We were confident to try to fix it because of you and we're so happy we did! Thank you again!
I’m about to attempt the same thing! Glad to hear someone else was successful! If it works I hope we can do a better job of keeping that stupid seal dry so it doesn’t get a hole! One tiny hole and so much water damage!
Dash ARoundtheWorld I’m looking on Amazon right now! Great minds I guess 😉 so did you get the one from the seller “Visit the Samsung store “? How we’re the screws? I’m hoping they are all the same !
@@nicolecincotta7867 Not sure which model you have but when I went to amazon looking for the part I used a tool that you can enter your model number and it will show you the part number for your machine. ..Mine was a Samsung part but fulfilled by Amazon. There are also generic part stores that sell them as well but the price tag is about the same so Id just get the Samsung one. I iforgot to mention we did have some trouble removing the long screw that keeps the diaphragm in place (should be on the left with a small bolt) because it was a little rusted.... A little WD40 and some banging it around a bit and viola it was off (this was the most difficult part of the job)! You will definitely need a screwdriver with different size ends and possibly a lug wrench to get that diaphragm off...Keep track of the all of the screws by putting them in small envelopes then labeling them...Hope this helps and Good luck!
Hey thanks you all 🙏 I appreciate the responses. Yeah I fix all kinds of crap, and as long as one person gets Beni fits out of my little videos I’m happy to do them. I’m no professional but I’ll let you know how confident I am in the videos lol.
Aye, man, I just wanted to say thank you! I changed my boot seal today, but only because of your video. All the others I was looking at, wasn't it. You the man! I appreciate it! No more sewer smell.
For anyone having trouble getting the spring off of the seal like I did, if you tug at the seal itself from the bottom a part of the seal should slip from between the spring and the frame, allowing you to grab and pull off the wire with ease, no pliers needed. 👍
I literally just finished doing ours ....thank you for making this video ! Wasn't that confident I would pull this off ...first timer scored major points with the wife😁😁😁

Are you able to show us how to replace or repair the knob to select what mode you want? Ours was hit or loosened when moving and I’m having trouble changing the modes now
I appreciate the video. Just had mine tear in the same method but on the bottom of the door opening. I should be able to get it changed easy now. Thanks.
Thank you Sir, for publishing the Video! I managed to replace our seal today and it went as smooth as I could hope, thanks to your great explanation!!! Merry Christmas!
Great video, thanks so much! Wouldn't have been able to replace mine without this video. Great tip about the weights, felt like it made it easier. Thanks again!
Tbh I feel like they did ok. They do pretty good washing the clothes. Even when I level don’t seam to vibrate too much. Dryer I’ve had to replace the heating element, temp sensor, and washer I’ve replaced door seal. Think the heating element was due to washing too big of loads and temp sensor was because the vent got disconnected and clogged in the attic, the door seal one of the kids did that so as for breaking down seams to only do that when used improperly. I will say pedestals would be good for these because the screen on these that protects the motor is at the very bottom of the wAsher. And when it don’t drain with the pump you have to pull out the screen and to drain it there isn’t any way to put a drain bucket to drain into unless you have a pedestal. However I drain mine with wet vac. Small socks and stuff get through the seal and clog that screen every once and a while.

Great video. But having issues putting the top front back on. The soap dispenser is in the way all the time and I cant seem to get the front on. Tried putting front on first but then I cant get the soap dispenser to fit 😫😫😫 Great tutorial and im sure Im doing something wrong. What would you advice? Front first then try to get soap dispenser to fit or other way around?
Ok the soap dispenser is easiest to re install when it’s disconnected from the front and sides. I put the front on and then kinda added the soap dispenser, however the pullout part of the soap dispenser needs to be taken out of it. Which has a tab you push down to pull out completely, then the back part gets mounted to the front and sides… you may be thinking the plastic goes on top of the metal side but if I remember right there is a tab that holds the plastic below the screw holes to where you screw into the actual plastic soap dispenser. Then after you get the back part on you slide in the front part.. (good time to clean it)
@@backendhandyman Found it. But its still leaking 😫😫 watched 4 videos now. Tomorrow I’ll see if I might be able to attach the inner part that connect to the drum any better. This has been a pain in the butt. 😂
@@edwinaarschot haha yeah I have replaced the heating element 2x, the temp sensor once on the dryer, the washer, check your screen at the bottom and see if it’s clogged, the washer I have leaks, drips out the bottom, idk where it’s coming from but I have them in the garage for now so it don’t hurt anything. Only issues with the washer I had is the screen gets clogged with baby socks 1-2x a month. That rubber seal was changed. And a mystery leak. These are the biggest pain in the ass appliances I’ve ever had., just make sure your screen ain’t clogged. Everything was great, except the dog kept me distracted. There is NO reason to have the door open when you have the whole room set up with loose screws and hardware on the floor. The dog walks right over the hardware and screws back and forth and I lost concentration. Keep the dog away, door closed when you have screws all over the place. I see that in a lot of video's where a kid or dog is running loose and all the parts are being stepped on and lost or broken. Plus it's a distraction from your concentration. After all your making a professional video for those who need assistance. You don't expect a dog to be going back and forth during a instructional seminar.
