Thank you, hundreds of MX 5 reviews and hardly anyone bothers to mention the NVH and how livable the car actually is... You rock.
- Bose Audiopilot also changes the eq. settings for roof open & closed
- subwoofer is NOT under you, it's in the passenger footwell upper area
Think for average users this is a really good system.
Good review. The stereo is awesome for a stock stereo on such a small car . The bass is really good and you can hear the sound even with the top down. I love this car , sold my 2019 mustang gt and this car rocks.

@Armadillo Yeah i little. I had that mustang and a 2018 mazda 3 so i was originally going to sell both . The plan was a golf r that i could use year round but i couldn't find one soon enough and ended up with the miata. The miata is getting me 38mpg average on regular gas and is really good in the snow with winter tires. Problem is my son loves cars and always wants me to take the miata but the whole family cant fit.

@@EluciaDeLuteIma Same here, loved the 350 but the engine paranoia was driving me crazy and I didn't want to have to deal with it if something were to happen. I Also wanted to go for something much lighter

Your Apple connection issue is probably a result of the fact that only the top USB plug in on the car is a digital connection. The other is just power. Notice the picture above inputs.

Hi, so I can use Waze navigation thru my Android cell, hook up an Ipod for music, and switch music using the steering wheel controls? I've never thought about just plugging a USB with music in I've just always stuck an IPOD in the glove box and forgot about it. Thanks.
Shame they removed the Bose CD player as I am discovering a new lease on life for my CD collection in my 2015 ND1.
My wish would be that the Infotainment screen could be closed into the dashboard like my old Audi 1. Sometimes you just want to see the road. I say that, but I also wish there was a HUD option to improve night driving.

What was the volume set at when you did the test?
2023 MX-5 now includes wireless apple car play. No need for the cable. Android still needs the cable though. Not sure why.
9 speakers is a lot for a Miata.

You won’t find nappa leather and Bose in a 86 or a base Mustang.
4 of those are in the headrests and from experience those don’t pump out much sound and sound more like 1 speaker per headrest opposed to 2. So, it’s more like 4 speakers + 2 weak speakers and a Subwoofer.
The only real upgrade from the standard sound system to the Bose is the subwoofer. For those who don't know, the standard system also has speakers in the headrest, but they only serve the purpose of making phone calls, as the music that comes from there is only a feeble amount of mid-range sound. If that annoys you, you can change the settings to "front only" and that way the music comes only from the two main cones and the two tweeters. With the original system, I have never turned the volume over 30/100 as it would smash my ears
Just because similar hardware is installed doesn't mean that it sounds just as good
It’s a bit late but you should try and get your hands on a Cadillac CT6 with the Bose Panaray system. Curious on your thoughts on that.
any idea if the 2021 Club comes with the subwoofer on the passenger floorboard? I had a 2016 Club that had a subwoofer, and I'm looking to buy another Miata that also has one along with an LSD

Im not sure if you particular model has it, but for me in my 2017 ND I have a CD player between the seats just behind the center storage and below the "glove box"
The ND2 gets rid of it and makes the glove box bigger with that extra room

Yes. That basically turns all the front (main) speakers down and the headrest (tiny speakers) up.
is it hearable when driving tops down ? or in high speed topdown ?
what about a muffler exhaust and topdown
Yes, the sound is clear enough roof down (I own a soft top nd), the headrest speakers help a lot here.

Really want to know how the Supra’s audio compares to the miata’s Bose system. I am currently own a miata and looking to get the Supra. I am a audiophile and really care about audio quality. Couldn’t find a Supra to check out myself.

As a truly Audiophile to me Bose isn't real audiophile product but too artificial just as really mainstream too average Apple products, I'd be changing the speakers including on the headrest to HiRes Alpine Signature
I intended to buy a miata but the speakers in the seats didn't work. Can someone give an advice for speakers in the seats? Does it need a special settings? Is it possible turn it on and off?
Maybe was some other problems with speakers in seats.
They are just for phone calls.

How would you rate the Miata for an everyday driver? Could you drive long sessions without any problems?

@@MeredithLawwson this is my everyday vehicle. Mine is manual, 2016 club ND 60,000 mi. I got it almost 2y ago with 40k mi. It's my only car. I drive 2h, 40-50mi a day . Love it. I drive very fuel efficient and change the engine oil appropriately before it exceeds 1y or 6k mi. I use high quality engine oil. I get avg 34 mpg and could get more if I only did highway at 64 mph which is the most fuel efficient speed for me in my stock setup with the Miami wind, soft top up, and premium gas (91 RM) and 6gear at around 2-2.5 rpm I think. I try not to go over 3 RPM when I am chilling which is most of the time

Unfortunately it's boxy sounding and not as good as the BOSE in the Mazda 3.

I just took delivery of a 2023 MX-5 Club with the Bose system. Bitterly disappointed with it. This is my 3rd vehicle that includes Bose and every one of them has been a mega disappointment. Very over rated audio system. (2014 Audi TT, 2019 GMC Serra AT4, 2023 MX5 Club). I actually wondered if my car was missing the Bose system when I started playing with the sound, but noted the Bose label on the seats. Jumping into my other car (Tesla Model Y Performance with the Premium Audio system), that system blows the Bose out of the water. My partners 2023 CX5 without Bose sounds similar to my MX5. I think Bose has just become some label that makes people think they are getting a great system. The sound that comes out of the head rests is terrible.
Sorry to hear, but almost every reviewer said about low quality BOSS-audio in Miata....

I have it- not sure why people are lying to themselves. It’s a bad system. No fidelity or clarity. Bass is just noise. Disappointed.

I have the ND Miata ND the Bose is just crap! one of the worst systems I've ever heard. Even my stock sound system in the 2004 Opel Astra sounded clearer.
Bose is just selling the cheapest speakers and trying to fix it with DSP.
Maybe Opel packed in some decent speakers.
My 2004 Chevy HHR and 2013 Camaro weren’t as good.
It kind is sucks that auto manufacturers started focusing on the big brands names, instead of sticking to companies that actually focus on car audio.
One of the best OEM audio systems I’ve ever had was Dodge with the 7 speaker + Sub Alpine system.
