if there's a word to describe OMG's choreo it's "magical". they do everything with grace like fairies. I'd recommend Closer for you to check out, the choreo is so UNIQUE cause when looked at from above, the girls draw the zodiac signs which was a pretty big deal when released. I was wondering when you would finally discover some Oh My Girl ;D They have evolved into this "OMG 2.0" because their original choreographer, whom their more graceful and more formation/transition technical choreo was under, was SoulMe. Now, FreeMind took over, and although FM do a pretty good job at replicating past Oh My Girl choreo styles, FreeMind cannot replicate SoulME. What's more technical with SoulMe choreo was, with Freemind, the formation changes and routines seem predictable; you can tell when they're gonna do pyramid or V formations, fall into diagonals, setup for a routine for this part of the song, etc. BUT, when watching SoulMe choreo's, you feel this uneasiness but also a Great Satisfaction by watching how fast and close the girls are dancing with each other, and the travel paths and the almost near collisions of dancers is almost like watching a dare devil stunt or something, and SoulMe fits in a whole lot more significant Routines and Canon's into one song. So ALL of their SoulMe choreos were PACKED more with better eye candy. (btw, I owe Luminous for getting me so into OMG ;D lol) You'll have to go back and watch everything from Cupid (debut) to Coloring Book to understand what "Oh My Girl 1.0" choreography is REALLY all about. Also a side note, they had a member drop from the group, JinE, so they went from 8 to 7. Top picks of SoulMe Choreo for me: 1) One Step, Two Step 2) Windy Day 3) Coloring Book .... but just watch em all ; ] Closer, is actually my #1, but I took it out of top 3 because, it's on another level. you'll have to watch the "Top-Down" version to understand Closer ; ] ...and also, why am I not surprised you can always spot the main dancer, YooAh (pony tail, jeans, white blouse), but funny you chose Binnie, one of their vocalists. I’ll definitely have to check out some of their older stuff!👍 With Binnie it honestly wasn’t so much her technical dance skill that caught my attention more so I was pretty much just crushing on her lol.. They also have one member, Arin, that reminds me of Yerin of GFriend. So going back, to also note the difference between SoulMe and Freemind, Freemind definitely plays alot more on the slow to fast movements in their choreo, but you may not see this in their older dances. But, one thing to point out, when SoulMe was their choreographer, Luminous told me from an article he read, instead of a demo dance is made up then presented to the group to follow and train into, SoulMe would come to the girls to collaborate what the girls wanted their choreo to be and what concept they wanted for their own songs; and THEN they would get right to countless hours of coming up with the choreo along side the choreographer and make up and change up as they go. So what was so special with all their older choreos with SoulMe was that, everything came straight from the minds of the artists, from the Oh My Girl Members. I didn't even realize you haven't reacted to Oh My Girl yet prior to this. They are in my TOP3 dance groups as of the moment, they have a similar vibe with Gfriend. their core point is flow and elegance with a touch of precise hand movements here and there. They're cohesive as a unit, not to mention this is home of arguably one of the top female dancers of today which is YooA (Your dance MVP in White shirt). Looking forward to more of their stuff :)
I loved this reaction! OMG have really creative choreos, and I hate when people brush over girl group choreo because they're not as hard-hitting or whatever. Being graceful is also hard, and I appreciate that you appreciate that! You should also check out the dance practice for their debut song Cupid (it has really cool level changes), and ON/OFF and Complete dance practices from their labelmates ONF! (whom I also feel get overlooked...just because a song is bright and the choreo is cute doesn't mean it's easy or doesn't take skill!)

I recommend you to watch their dance practice of debut song "Cupid" . It's very good. Also liar liar and one step two step. And all performance in Queendom. :) YooA (Main Dancer) has solo song too. It's Bon Voyage. It has a great performance.
I personally don’t think just being able to memorise rhythm and melody would be a trait of a good dancer. I think good dancers are able to memorise, but what makes them good comes down to execution. Now some dancers are able to find the count faster than others - soon after hearing the music for the first time and I’ve only seen that particular trait in the great dancers. Being able to memorise a piece of choreo just by briefly watching it is also an impressive trait that I’ve only seen in the best. But just the ability to memorise? Nah, anyone can do that with time and practice.

fun fact, Yooa's brother is Junsun Yoo, a choreographer in 1Million.

I’ve actually met Junsun! He’s a friend of a friend. Good guy! Great dancer! Had no idea his sister was an idol though! That’s awesome! 😃 Yooa was pretty amazing so the dance skills must run in the family! 😋👍

I didn't even realize you haven't reacted to Oh My Girl yet prior to this. They are in my TOP3 dance groups as of the moment, they have a similar vibe with Gfriend. their core point is flow and elegance with a touch of precise hand movements here and there. They're cohesive as a unit, not to mention this is home of arguably one of the top female dancers of today which is YooA (Your dance MVP in White shirt). Looking forward to more of their stuff :)

I loved this reaction! OMG have really creative choreos, and I hate when people brush over girl group choreo because they're not as hard-hitting or whatever. Being graceful is also hard, and I appreciate that you appreciate that!
You should also check out the dance practice for their debut song Cupid (it has really cool level changes), and ON/OFF and Complete dance practices from their labelmates ONF! (whom I also feel get overlooked...just because a song is bright and the choreo is cute doesn't mean it's easy or doesn't take skill!)

Also would you say that memorizing the rythm and the melody is a trait of a good dancer ?
I personally don’t think just being able to memorise rhythm and melody would be a trait of a good dancer. I think good dancers are able to memorise, but what makes them good comes down to execution.
Now some dancers are able to find the count faster than others - soon after hearing the music for the first time and I’ve only seen that particular trait in the great dancers. Being able to memorise a piece of choreo just by briefly watching it is also an impressive trait that I’ve only seen in the best. But just the ability to memorise? Nah, anyone can do that with time and practice.
@@FreshTofuReacts ah I see , that's true , I've been dancing for over 10 years , I have been learning choreos from watching some videos once or twice ( they're not that complex tho ) but as soon as I realized my dream , it feels like I became too conscious of my abilities that I try to follow the rules set by other ppl and I forgot how to do things my own way ? Idk , I just feel completely lost

I've came across them by accident and I fell in love ever since , they're not that known internationally because their style isn't anywhere near girl crush nor are they cure , they a have mystical feel to them that brings relief and gives me goosebumps every time , every style they tried , they always managed to bring in their color :)

you should totally do a reaction to yooa's solos with the title track bon voyage and a b-side abracadabra. those were my favourites from 2020. if you haven't checked it out already, you could also do a reaction to their 2015 release closer (the formations in that one were based on the constellations/sun/moon)
