Finally sonic isnt anti social and talks to his friends after saving them
its probably because of classic sonic sharing the cutscene but even then the characters say different
I personally always loved how you'd save one of his friends, they'd be like "Oh Sonic, thank goodness you saved me, I thought I was dead for good when I was trapped in that eternal abyss of timelessness" and Sonic would just go "👍"
I'm glad they finally fixed that, it always sucked seeing all the cutscenes in the middle have Sonic respond... Absolutely nothing lol
Honestly was expecting the Generations side to be completely untouched so I'm happy they're bothering to rewrite it
@@kirbyofthestarsfan Yeah I agree
Honestly this feel like a remake or an extended scene of Sonic x Generation. I mean now modern Sonic can finally say something when theie friends are free from being white statue instead of responding or reacting.
It's nice to see that Sonic actually responds to them now in white space
'Bout time. It was always so weird that he never said anything before.
NO IT'S NOT GOOD
@@t-bird6853 yes it is stfu
Yeah. In the old version, the fact he doesn’t respond in a snarky way made a bit of sense programming-wise, but also makes it feel like a piece was taken away from the full puzzle that is Sonic the Hedgehog.
@@t-bird6853Bro chill out it’s not that bad 😭
I love that modern Sonic actually retorts to his friends after he saves them.
Felt so weird to me that he’s never did that in the original.
Makes sense for Classic Sonic since he never talked, but I always thought it was odd Modern Sonic wasn't doing the same..
Remember, the original Generations came out at a time when Sega was clearly trying to slowly diminish the use of the supporting cast, as a way to appease the "Sonic's stupid friends" crowd. They knew that they couldn't just ignore all of these popular characters (especially in an anniversary game that was celebrating everything about the Sonic series), but they knew to give them as little screen time and dialogue as possible, out of fear of upsetting all the people who only like Sonic."
Heck, there are some people out there who are convinced that Sonic himself hates all of these characters as much as they do. So it wouldn't surprise me if Sega were thinking "well we've got to keep these people happy too!"
"Wow, I thought I'd be stuck like that forever... Thanks Sonic!"
"... 😬👍"
@@keatonendler8202 imagine if they let classic sonic have a voice actor in the remaster, that be crazy
@@maximmanzillo8927yeah, it makes sense if classic sonic talks to because classic tales also talks it will be crazy if they bring back older sonic voice actors to voice him
I’m glad they did it never made sense to me how they would forget such important parts of their past
EXACTLY
Omg, YES! This new script is SERIOUSLY on point! I'll never understand why the writers thought making them sound like they have Amnesia was a good idea.
But they're just reusing these cutscenes, not really gonna do justice to the history unless you get everyone being playable which is not gonna happen.
@yonaguy6978 now that's asking for too much. That would be a remakes job.
For them it was tuesday.
OH MY GOD, HE ACTUALLY RESPONDS IN THE CUTSCENES.
Idk why I'm surprised by this.
Finally. Story still doesn’t exist but atleast we finally get interactions. Now what im curious about is how saving Blaze goes. Cause in the original she says “ I never thought I’d find myself in Crisis City again. This world is full of surprises.” Which first off confirms that… yeah. 06 did happen somehow despite that either being another timeline or it never even happening.
I mean if Kingdom Valley and Mephiles are returning then fuck it. I guess 06 is canon now. But that raises even more questions than answers…
Yes OMG finally the game has more Story 😎🤩🥳😍😁👍🏻🤙🏻👆🏻👌🏻🙌🏻💪🏻👊🏻👏🏻🤟🏻🌟⭐️🎉🎮🕹️

THE GOOD ENDING
Tails mentioning west side island makes my little lore brain happy.😊
Just as Ian Flynn intended
Me too. But let's face facts here; these are the things that the Ian Flynn haters are going to complain about.
That it's all just "Member West Side Island?"
"Oh, I love to Member West Side Island, that was fantastic!"
"Member?" 🍇
I don't agree, but you know that this storm is coming.
@@bowmaj8666I don't believe that's an issue. Anyone that levies that as a criticism doesn't understand the word "consistency". However, Ian has a weird obsession, be it on Sega's orders(which I doubt) or not, with making everything canon. Sonic lore is entirely too inconsistent to put it all together and before they started caring, almost every game lacked any sort of lore consistency and just added to the mess because they simply weren't interested in world building, just the characters which even then don't show up when they should. Flynn may have a better understanding of the Sonic world than even the current Sonic Team(which isn't hard btw) but previous games have written a good chunk of the characters way better than what he does. I just hope he's not gonna pull a Frontiers and try to reference everything in order to retroactively make it all canon. Member berries was not really an issue with Frontiers, it was forcing it even where it didn't belong. That Sticks reference is still absurd to this day. It's all a potential disaster waiting to happen
West Side!
@@Soulferno The sad truth though is that I've seen people online who say things like "Oh, Sonic games SHOULDN'T be about the story! They SHOULDN'T be about the world building and lore! They SHOULDN'T be about consistency! Cos that stuff just doesn't matter!"
People are going to inevitably complain about Flynn's writing, even for the most petty and nitpicky of reasons. Sega really just needs to ignore them. If it's constructive criticisms, then fair enough, but if it's just people whining "NO! DON'T LIKE IT! GET RID OF IT OR I'M NEVER PLAYING ANOTHER SONIC GAME EVER AGAIN! REEEEE!" then that's when Sega needs to ignore them, instead of letting them ultimately dictate what can and can't be in a Sonic game.
I have one question for people who think Ian Flynn is going to ruin Generations' plot:
*what fucking plot???*
Yeah that game has no plot over nothing Just in the end that its Very little by the way and that don't make much sense when you think about it
Those "Fans" are just whiners, brats and Bandwagoners who probably haven't played a single game or worked a day in their lives. Let's just sit back, grab a snack and enjoy the Remaster and see what secrets it has in store. If their getting on your nerves then either block them or ignore them. Unless they said something VERY AND I MEAN VERY STUPID.

@@mr.hayaibear That's because most of them are severely autistic and would behave exactly the same way if you got their burger king order wrong.
@mr.hayaibear nonononono, you got it backwards. What it is, is that Sonic fans will always find some stupid crap that doesn't matter to get angry about
@@chrissysonicutdrlozexactly man I am seeing some comments about that chemical plant cut scene and it's just a all out war like bro it's just a simple cut scene of sonic and tails talking about chemical plant and it's very short and I hope Sega doesn't listen to these people because this is just nitpicking at this point
Instead of "Your future's gonna be great!", Tails should look at Sonic and say "Should we tell him?", then Sonic says "Let's not ruin the moment."
I can see why some would feel like the new dialogue is weird in places, but the way Sonic just doesn't talk at all in some scenes in the original is much more awkward to me. It's very apparent in the Amy and Knuckles scenes here.
Fr
Sonic’s animations in his silent responses also looked really cheap in the original generations. Merely adding lip sync in SxS went a long way though
The knuckles one is an objective improvement. The original seemed like it was supposed to have a response anyway.
Absolutely, like Sonic is such a talkative guy and for him to... Not react at all is such a bad decision

This is why Sonic Team hiring an official lorekeeper was a good idea
I agree Kris. People and Sonic "Fans" before you say anything, Don't....just Don't. You'll make thing worse.
A whole lore team composed of multiple lore managers, not just a single lorekeeper.
As explained by Ian on the May 11th 2023 episode of the BumbleKast, they don't really decide things; they just discuss lore and come up with ideas for it. Some of them are rejected by the higher ups, some of them are approved.
KatieChrz mentioned on her Twitter that other members include her, Evan Stanley, and Tyson Hesse.
But still, it's good.
This doesn't demonstrate the benefits of hiring a lore keeper what, it's just a different writer rewriting some lines of dialogue.
I love the line changes but i hate how they didn’t change sonic’s animations to accommodate for them, the amy one especially looks weird.
Yeah, totally agreed.
The mouth now added on is also weird as fuck💀like I’m glad he’s talking now but it would’ve been better if they reanimated him from the ground up cause there just feels something off about adding the moving mouth to his animations
Honestly I would say even the Chemical Plant cutscene is a bit weird.
In the original the camera zooms in on the water as it's mentioned in order to make it more obvious what exactly they are referring to.
In the remake it zooms in on the water...... because the original game did.
@@Eo22I005 The main thing for me, is that that dialogue doesn't make any sense with his body language. Him doing that facepalm doesn't even make any sense considering she's not flirting or anything anymore.

Whoever hates this is obviously nostalgia blind, also whoever complains about references doesn’t make sense use your brain bro, this entire game is one reference
Why are people disappointed? Sonic feels more in character here. This is a welcome change.
Yeah, it's MUCH better now
Tails no longer speaks like a modern Marvel character, Amy is not flanderized and Sonic doesn't stay in akward silence
Amy was never flanderized to begin with. She never devolved into one character trait since she only had that one character trait from the start. Idk if the new direction is better or worse but it's an entirely new thing not a return to a better time
@@wyn9693 Bro
Amy being in love with Sonic has been her main character trait, yeah, but she has been more from that
The thing is, we pretty much only got her development on the Adventure games untill she devolved completely on Heroes
The first Sonic Adventure gives Amy basically the same character development as Tails, realizing that she is her own person and doesn't need to be behind Sonic all the time, she takes care of a bird and showcases her caring and loving nature, not to mention that the fact that she's the most "normal" character of the cast makes her shine in her down-to-earth personallity, the reason why she solves some major conflicts in both games not by force, but with words and understanding, thanks to her Gamma saved and freed the bird family that was separated from the bird Amy was taking care of, and thanks to her, Shadow remembered what the real promise he made to Maria was. Not to mention her actions beyond words like freeing Sonic from prison island
And you might say "she still chased Sonic around", but really her flirting was more secondary in these games and was way more playful, I mean in prison island while she says she will free Sonic if he married her, it sounds more like a friendly banter between the 2 as Amy doesn't insist on it and still frees Sonic anyway after he said no once
The issues began with Heroes, where all this development went down the drain and made Amy's entire character arc to be a Sonic Stalker and force him into marriage, completely flanderising her
Some later games saved Amy a little but in the expense of her being dull, she's not as a hard stalker as she was in Heroes but she doesn't do that much besides confusing Sonic constantly and just, being the girl of the group
And then the meta era came, every character was flanderised and Amy was even more in the background doing nothing, her few aparitions being just to tell how much she loves Sonic, and that's it
Finally, Frontiers came and we returned to a down-to-earth Amy, she no longer harasses Sonic about a relationship because she already knows he's not interested by this moment, plus she and her friends are in a more serious situation trying to figure out how to scape the cyberspace. And her caring nature finally shines again as she can't avoid helping a couple of Kokos to reunite and rest together. And in the Finla Horizon, she proves that she's more than just the girl by being useful in all what she can to help Sonic and the others to defeat The End once and for all, no matter the risk, she's also a hero
I'm actually glad it's getting rewritten. Sonic and Tails almost not recognizing Chemical Plant never really made sense.
And Modern Sonic being so mute after saving his friends just felt odd.
Oh my God first time West Side Island was ever spoken in a game.
Also he finally speaks back instead of buffering and dropping an emote. It always felt weird, specially after the Charmy cutscene.

It's crazy that Modern Sonic have more lines whenever he rescue his friends for the rewrite
Wait so we are gonna get new lines from Espio Vector Blaze and Silver. That's so cool.
As cool as it is for Modern Sonic to exchange dialogue with his friends, I can see how some people find the lines a bit odd. OG Generations barely had any story so we're not losing anything if it gets rewritten. Plus Ian Flynn's writing it so it's in good hands. My only complaint is that the Amy scene felt a bit awkward. sonic responding to his friends is just great and CPZ's cutscene alone is a royal improvement, it feels less like they're winking and nudging saying "oh you remember THIS stage RIGHT" and more of a "we've been here before but how and why did we end up here" hell mania didn't even give us a why to us being in chemical plant zone we're just teleported there.
It's not really a rewrite moreso just adding more dialogue or changing some around to maybe fit better. Rewrite is like they've completely rewritten the story or something which they haven't done. The original script was always good as it was but I'm never against adding dialogue or some minor changes, it just improves what was already there.
Like this, I do prefer Tails immediately recognizing the Chemical Plant as opposed to him just noting it felt familiar. Though I will say I miss the line of him feeling nervous about the pink water. Furthermore I LOVE that they added dialogue to Sonic now when he rescues his friends, it was always so awkward how he'd just silently nod or give a thumbs up without saying anything. I wish the cutscene could have been reanimated too. I would have liked that cutscene before the time eater boss fight where sonic friends are being useless to be changed too.
Honestly these are mostly good changes, but when it comes to Amy’s I hate that Ian is erasing the open flirtatiousness Amy used to have. Maybe the line was too on the nose originally but seeing the pattern in Frontiers, this seems like yet another unnecessary push of “I’m strong and independent Sonic! I’ll save you next time! I’ll repeat this for every game I’m in from now on so you don’t forget how strong and independent I am!”
I don’t dislike the new line on its own but it feels like they’re intentionally erasing Amy’s old personality for a totally new one that doesn’t fit her
I don’t think it’s *that* extreme of a change, really. I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt, myself, and seeing it as that Amy’s beginning to see where she’s falling flat and beginning to improve on it.
But that’s just me. We’ll see how the rest of the remaster is handled.
She’s a strong independent hedgehog who don’t need no man!
The Amy rewrite is 100 percent because of Misogynistic Incel Sigma Male Culture infecting everyones way of life and is 100 percent telling the "f*moids" to be like the superior gender or else, Knuckles was ruined but Amy has been completely butchered, this is not Amy

So Sonic actually talks when he saves his friends! I really like that change. It was kinda awkward how he just says nothing in the original
Amy's line change is so flavourless...
I was actually kinda expecting to hear the original VA's of the original Sonic Generations like how Kate Higgins did Tails again in Sonic Colors: Ultimate mainly because I wasn't expecting the change of lines. I don't have a problem with the current voices of Knuckles, Silver, & Blaze.
Evet.
If they changed the VAs of Tails, Amy and knuckles, it makes me think... will they change Sonic's voice to Roger when they remaster Unleashed? 💀💀💀💀

Meh, I'm personally ok with this. Rather have bad and tired character traits remain in the past and embrace the newer ones with open arms.
@@sonicgamingkirbyfan2005v-xm2rl the problem is sega tends to forget the past of these characters and it really shows with frontiers but not in the way you think. Thank god they did this. It makes much more sense for them to actually know what chemical plant is
You know, I was thinking, "If they are remaking Generations from the ground up, maybe they could revoice it too. Some characters, like Amy, sound awful due to having just started voicing the characters."
Glad to see they did it!
Sonic and Tails in Chemical Plant: Pontaff = Flynn. I like that Tails recognises Chemical Plant immediately instead of going "mmm this place feels familiar" but the pink water line is one I'll definitely miss, even if it wouldn't work in the new context.
Modern Sonic saves Amy: Pontaff > Flynn. This feels like Flynn doing revisionism (you could argue this entire rewrite is revisionist but this scene especially feels like flynn shoving his vision of amy into a game where it didn't remotely exist). While I'm okay with Amy's crush on Sonic not being her main personality trait anymore it seems to have been excised entirely in this scene (and I think Amy's characterisation in OG Gens was fine anyway). Sonic's response would make more sense with the original line too.
Modern Sonic saves Knuckles: Pontaff < Flynn. Knuckles clearly does *not* have his sanctuary back, and I don't really know how he would even understand what was going on in the first place. I like that he focuses on the Time Eater (which he *does* know about) in Flynn's take. I don't know if I'm keen on Sonic's response, though.
Judging by these three scenes there'll probably be parts of the story I prefer in the original form and parts where I like the new version better. I've never cared for Gens' story anyway since it's an extrenely blatant excuse plot and Shadow's stuff is the main attraction and what I'll most likely be focused on.
imagine they eventually rewrite all of this era's games to actually have the character consistency we want

After Sonic unleashed they changed his personality with his voice actor, it hard to put into words but Sonic and co don’t feel like them anymore
- Focusing on the monster and not weird parts of the stages they already knew
- Amy’s not stuck in her ‘aww I must flirt with sonic at all times’ personality she used to be.
- Sonic responds in the white space (albeit with the same animation as the original which for the Amy one is a bit out of place there, hope they fix that)

Kinda miss openly flirtatious Amy for this one. Just more of a fan of that character and it just fits better with the context of the game and cutscene.
Kinda funny and sad that Sonic Team are less ashamed of Sonic 06 than they are of a more openly passionate version of Amy. When they seemed to have finally moved on from being ashamed of their past during Sonic Frontiers.
Sega would rather rewrite every scene of Amy ever hitting on Sonic then actually making that she grown out of it in like a one shot comic.
There was nothing wrong with that choice. Her change in personality was a bit too sudden, and it'd be nice to have at least one game from the past set that up. This is the one.

@@VSaber365 It's comparatively bad. Comparing the story of the Sonic Adventure series and Sonic Unleashed to Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations and most would argue it's a considerable downgrade. I think this is cool, it’s like living in an alternate reality. It’s interesting hearing the newer voice actors replace the previous ones but I don’t really mind it here because they didn’t have much to really say or do of importance in original Generations. This makes me worried though, if they were to go back and games like Unleashed or the adventure games. Especially for unleashed, it’s my favourite game and Jason is my favourite Sonic so it would really hurt to see his performance replaced. But again, it’s unlikely they’d do that because it’s mostly just sonic in Unleashed and Jason had a lot of work on that game. But yeah, it’s cool to see here but I really hope they don’t mess too much with other remasters/remakes.
This is sad, I liked this pink water reference and deja vu thing, but I hope this is for the best, hope they won't spoil the whole thing 🥲
SOME people are saying how they dont like amy's less obsessive writing but just remember that she had a character arc back in the adventure games where she became more independent. that character arc was of course reinstated in frontiers but still.

Yes, this is SO much better! I will never understand anyone who doesn't like Ian Flynn; everything he's written has been a banger so far, with any shortcomings mainly being due to Sega's limitations (e.g. Frontiers base ending).
@SleepDeprivedGinger Game Sonic is not and will never be Steven Universe or the MCU or Archie Sonic. Sonic himself is not supposed to be a full time superhero fighting to protect justice or whatever.
Still weird how everytime someone's upset with something he does, it's always the guidelines. (None of which we know for a fact) Scrapnik Island and Superstars was good despite those restrictions.
@@GoofGuyWacky It's cope from fandom who think that Flynn should be able to just write Archie again or glorified fanfics and making excuses for his writing like with how he made Shadow charge into a horde of Zombots rather than run.
@@galten7361 I literally never mentioned Sonic being portrayed as a superhero, unless that's something Flynn has done. I know full well that Sonic is the carefree type who lives by his own rules and only helps others because it's the right thing to do. I also know that Sonic's only heroic duty is protecting the Chaos Emeralds from Eggman. I just like how Sonic is being portrayed personality-wise nowadays, that's all.
@@SleepDeprivedGinger Flynn does write Sonic as more of a superhero (and Naruto with messiah figures). It's in IDW where Flynn tries to write Sonic more in line with how he was in Archie (where he was a full time superhero/paramilitary member who actively sided against a movement to end a monarchy that locked up protestors) and in line with protagonists like Steven Universe or Naruto Uzumaki.
"That pink water makes me really nervous for some reason" is one of the best lines of the original game so I'm sad to see that go.
Also Ian Flynn is doing his typical thing to Amy and removing her obsessiveness.
Even so, I'm sure the rest of the script will be an upgrade over the original.
You know what would be funny. If they got Orbot and Cubot to have some faint dialogue screaming at Eggman to come back in the flashback scene before the final boss. I'm fairly certain Shadow's va already plays one of the two, so it’s a possibility.
