Thutmose III and the Mycenaean Delegation (1437 BCE)

- In 1437 BCE, Thutmose III of Egypt set onto one of his many military campaigns. Upon putting down a revolt in present day Syria, the Pharaoh met with envoys of the Danaan king. This meeting represents the earliest written evidence of the Mycenaean Greece by a foreign source.

So, at this time the Minoan civilization was in rapid decline after the catastrophic Thera eruption. The Mycenaeans, ever ones to take advantage of a situation, began to take over.
Before the Thera eruption, the Minoans, Egyptians, Canaanites and others had a great sea trade. I think that the Egyptians would have been well aware of people to their north.
Not sure how I got here🤔 Great content!!🎉
The God named Google sent you !
There's a bronze age mod for total war Rome 2 you could use for these videos 😁
Have you read the pubblication:
"Time's Up! Dating the Minoan Eruption of Santorini: Acts of the Minoan Eruption Chronology Workshop, Sandbjerg, November 2007
David A Warburton
Aarhus University Press, 31 dic 2009" ?
It's a very interesting source for dating the Santorini eruption, it's record from Hapsetshut times and the take over of Miceneans over the Minoans.
I want to ask you about something, what is the greatest and most powerful civilization, is it the civilization of the Nile Valley or the civilization of Mesopotamia throughout the ages

Is ThutuMose is the half brother of Moses mentioned in Bible?
No, he lived long ago, even before Abraham the prophet
Moses was adopted and raised in the family and took the name...
@@Cleeon While Thutumose has historical records, thanks to advanced civilisation of Pharaoh, no records at all about the nomad Abraham,Loth etc
@@rosskstar yes, he was adopted by the Pharaoh at his time
So if Thutmose III knew of the Tanayu (the Mycenaeans), and the Denyen are listed as one of the Sea Peoples (the "Denyen in their Isles"), why is it not assumed from first principles that the names Tanayu and Denyen are not synonymous with each other (although lacking conclusive proof)? And from that, why is it not assumed that the 'The Sea Peoples' who were known to be a confederation of peoples including the Denyen, were indeed the Mycenaeans? Why do historians keep saying "Oh, we don't have a clue who they were"? That's nonsense, to me.
In one of your videos you describe how the Peleset were settled by one of the Pharaohs in Canaan, and became known as the Philistines. So before they became the Philistines, why is it not assumed that they came from the kingdom of Pylos? 'Peleset' = 'Those From Pylos'. One of the most important Achaean Kingdoms of the Peloponnese, sending the biggest contingent of ships to Troy, after Agamemnon himself. Indeed why is it not assumed that the Ekwesh ('the People of Ekw') were not the same as the Equites ('the horsemen'/ EQU-ites) of the Achaeans? The Equites being 'the King's Companions' (bronze-age 'knights' perhaps). This name is a DEAD MATCH. Indeed the 'Teresh' may well be a rendering of 'Those from (the Kingdom of) Tyrins'.
And if the Achaeans (Danaans/Denyen/Tanayu) were to make a confederation with the Lukka (almost certainly the Lycians of Anatolia) you couldn't call them all 'Achaeans' because some of them came from Anatolia, so WHAT WOULD YOU CALL THEM??? "The Sea People" would be a perfectly apt eponym! And as the Sea Peoples had enough power to challenge the might of the Pharaoh RAMSSES II, who else could be powerful enough, and come from a collection of Islands, other than the Mycenaeans???
To me, although conclusive proof is lacking, it is blindingly obvious that the 'Sea Peoples' were the Mycenaean Hegemony (Achaeans/Danaans) plus allied Anatolian states. It makes no sense NOT to assume this, given what we know of the Bronze Age Near East.
Jerusalem may have been founded by the Horites, the ruling class of Canaanites who practiced righteousness, of whom Melchizadek was like one.
This the Pharaoh who given the name Jerusalem to the city, he live way before prophet Abraham
Tutmose III = "King David" of Jewish legend. Goliath is a euphemism for the fortress of Megiddo. David's sling shot is a metaphor for Tut's audacious direct path of attack, through the mountain pass. That "David went naked to meet Goliath" means Tut was at the head of his troops, not behind his guards.
Did you ever figure out the name of the Mycenaean king? The wanax who met with Tuhtmoses III?
The Egyptian records do not mention the name. Historically speaking the wanax must be the one during whose reign Crete was invaded or even taken over. Thus, the Mycenean emissaries must have been sent to the pharaoh to assure that the significant trade relationships with Crete would continue despite change in status quo. After Thutmosis reign Egyptian records start to refer to Tnj (Tanaja - Danaia) and frescoes with foreigners bearing gifts to Egypt shift from typical Minoan Keftiu (Cretan Minoan) dressing to dressing more widely perceived as Aegean. Mythologically, the era fits to the passing from Abas to Acrisios and Proetus. Proetus was married to a Lycian princess and hero Belerephon made his deeds in Lycia around that time. The myth suggests Mycenean presence in southwestern Asia Minor, which should have happened after subjugation of Crete.
Wow. Do videos about this, please.
Every time you mention that the Mycenaeans were called the Danaan I think of the Tuatha de Danaan of Irish legend. Could there be some kind of connection?
Problably not, but who knows? And the Israeli tribe of Dan, the Dane people (the ancient Danish) and the Dardani. All of these have in common the sea stuff and migrations. Apart of some eastern European rivers (Don, Dniepre, Danube, Dniestre), you have perhaps ancient water routes for same people.
What struck me when I was in Ireland and visited the Archaeological Museum in Dublin were the beautiful gold necklaces from the Bronze Age, which reminded me of the death masks from the same era in Mycenae... So, indeed, who knows?
Τhutmose or the man who"broke" the age...the younger!!
