This action sequence from “The Matrix Reloaded” is hailed as one of cinema’s most iconic fight scenes - often overlooked is its meticulously crafted music that syncs with the intense, kinetic nature of the cue. The original score has been deconstructed and reassembled using my virtual instruments to identify what particularly makes this score epic. It features violins, violas, cellos, basses, a bass synthesizer, brass, a choir, and a drum-kit - where each element has a purposeful role in enhancing the scene’s dynamics.

Thanks Ramon - the violin arpeggios were a crazy one to dissect! For the synth, I created two patches in my Arturia MiniFreak, one for the low-end pulse, and another for a higher, grittier pulse.
